The last fabric definitely suits your colouring, it's lovely. I've only purchased one t-shirt pattern, the Besties Tee from Pattern Emporium. I like it because PE patterns always have lots of variations, but I don't have a suger/overlocker so I don't sew many knit garments in general. Thanks for your insight and all the twirls!
Thank you! Yes, I did well with that fabric as it was in a remnants sale. The Besties tee looks great, thanks for telling me about it. I think I've probably made more knits than wovens on balance, but that might get redressed a bit this year with my jeans and dungas plans. I think I probably have more ready to wear knit tops than wovens too, so I guess it’s unsurprising that that has been the way with my sewing too.
P.E. Have great patterns. They just released a new tee pattern last month, can’t recall the name but I’ve made 4 of them already adding my own sleeve versions. Great fit on those.
Hi Laura, loved your t-shirt round-up - I downloaded the Uvita top after you mentioned it in your previous video and it's on my list of things to make 😃. I have made several long sleeve tops and my favourites are the Vera top, the Busan top by Itch to Stitch, the Galaxy tee and the Lark tee by Grainline Studios. The Lark tee is my favourite because it has lots of neck and sleeve variations. I lengthened mine by a couple of inches and included side vents too ('cos we can!!) The Southbank Sweater is also a good one! Have a great weekend 😀
Thanks Elizabeth! I think the Busan is not dissimilar to the other version of the Somerset, though the sleeve is probably constructed differently. I definitely want to try the Galaxy and the Vera.
I really love the Toaster version 2. It has a softly drapey neckline if you make it in a viscose jersey and fit me nicely. I think I had to shorten the sleeve, then added the cuff from version 1.
I keep looking at the Toaster. I've never bought it as I've made the free Monroe sweater from Tessuti which is similar to view 1 of the Toaster, but I see what you mean about View 2. I should give it a try. I've made the Sew House Seven Tea House top, and really liked the instructions and the top. Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for taking the time to do a detailed video on your top 5 patterns. I brought the Maven but never tried it. I might need to purchase the forgot me not pattern after watching this. 🤔 Thanks so much 👏👏😊❤️❤️
Thanks Joei! Given our love of the same fabrics and patterns, we should maybe do a one fabric, 2 t-shirts collaboration one of these days! Or one pattern, two fabrics! ❤️❤️
I've not tried that one, but Whitney (TomKat Stitchery) rates it, I know. It's great to have a go to pattern! I'll be making more tees in June hopefully.
Great round up Laura! I just made the Somerset top by Maven patterns this week and I love it! My favourite basic tee is the Union Street tee by Hey June Handmade. It is looser around the stomach which I appreciate. I batch whip up a few of them for the summer. I have plans to make the Uvita soon because I really like boat neck styles. Thanks for introducing me to the Iris tee. I love the sleeve detail. Happy sewing!
I love your “name”! Yes, the Somerset is a goodie! I can see why you like the Union Street tee - thanks for telling me about it. Lots of great variations.
Very helpful video. You smile peaked through a few times. Keep it up.
Thank you Claudia!

Really inspiring thank you. Xxx
Thanks, Michelle! Xxx
Thanks for doing a T-shirt comparison video... there are so many patterns out there.. so its quite difficult to choose :)
Thanks, Michelle! Yes, there’s loads - so many patterns, sew little time!

@@SewVeryLaura I love that idea. We should definitely do it. I am up for that 👍😁❤️
I’ve enjoyed your tour of TShirts and all the fun fabric, but you haven’t converted me. My all time favorite is the Concord T by Cashmirette.
I've not tried that one, but Whitney (TomKat Stitchery) rates it, I know. It's great to have a go to pattern! I'll be making more tees in June hopefully.
A very interesting vlog the only t shirt I have made so far is the frankie t which I really like but I hope to give some others a try 😁
Thanks, Teresa. I think the Frankie is a great introduction to T-shirts. I still love both of mine, and I would make more. I like the raglan sleeve.

Hope all is okay, haven’t seen anything new since this video…
