PNI HP8900 CEMultiNorm CB radio - adjustment

Having received one of the latest offerings from PNI, I thought I'd have a go improving the 2.9W it came doing. Bingo...4W. Switching to the EU set of channels I was able to set up the modulation in AM model However, adjustment of the FM deviation has eluded me & it looks like I'm stuck with about 1.9Khz....though this could be worse as many new sets come out of the factory doing 1.4Khz. I also haven't forgotten the 0.9Khz that a well known snake brand came doing too.
Nice sensitive receive & an annoying menu driven squelch. Even more annoying is the set defaults to one of it's three multi-tone roger bleeps whenever you change country code....then have to knock it off again in the menu. The radio has CTCSS.
