- Seven years after his life-threatening rally crash, Robert Kubica is officially back in F1 as Williams' development driver. To celebrate, we revisit one of the Pole's finest moments - a breath-taking demonstration of skill and daring, played out on the streets of Monte Carlo.
The result? Second on the grid, just fractions off what would have been the unlikeliest of pole positions.

TH-cam: “Hey wanna see Kubica in Monaco?”
Me: *hell yeah*
True that
it do be
😂👏👏
True 😎
4 years after your comment, still the case
The definition of a talented driver. Absolutely perfect lap. If he had a better car he sure would've been a world champion at least once, no doubts.
єzαу He already had pre-agreement with Ferrari before his injury. They aren't official contracts though but it would've been possible for him to switch after 2011.
It's a shame BMW didn't allow him to go for the title when they had a competitive car in 2008.
could have should have...
Wrong...especially at this time, there were alot of world champions on the grid. Many more talented drivers than kubica
@Yash Nayak yes me too? Are you dumb?
P2. With a Renault. I think that's enough said.
Stolen Memes he should have replaced me
Yes I should
Nowadays he got one hand less to use so P2 in a Renault will be difficult
Stolen Memes I mean his teammate who was Petrov was driving 1:15 5s... 1.4 secs slower than Kubica!
And the Williams team do this shit with him
That was like a perfect lap
The way he counters oversteering while accelerating makes this lap even more special.
No, small mistakes
@@borderline135r2 i think out of chicane was a mistake only
Damian Paliś I feel like that very slight wheel spin made it faster since it got good rotation and didn’t have to put as much steering input
The last sector... Awesome!
0:52 that double counter! masterpiece!
1:03 that reaction! Faster than I can think.
@@lukaszpowalowski8342 You see his response, but he sees coming corner for long time before. The angle of approach is sampled many times before approaching such apex.

@@Astfgl He finished 3rd in the GP2 championship twice.

3rd that means 2 people were better than him
Twice
Kubica has won a f1 race

Kubica was one of the best and most talented F1 drivers in history
Why did he drive in that Italian Wrc race…he would be multiple world champion…Hamilton would be never a champion when Kubica still driving
@@Czeslawwieslaww Kubica was awesome but comparing him to Hamilton is a joke
@@aadi9534 learn some history dude….in carting Kubica was smashing Hamilton in home made cart vs fully professional cart and service team for Hamilton….Kubica eaten him and would do the same in F1….even now Russel is better that your best driver in f1 history like he talking about himself LOL 😂😂
@@aadi9534 now I see that you are joke
@@Czeslawwieslaww Lewis was already champion in 2008, few years before Kubica's accident.
It was not WRC event. It was local rally event. A rally, not a Race.
This is really sad to watch knowing now that he’s probably leaving F1 (Williams at least) after 2019 ends. He had such incredible talent, possibly even world champion material 😪
who said hes leaving f1?
Batersky only other seats are alfa and redbull, cant see either of them taking the slowest driver on the grid over their current drivers
Cant you understand that Roberts and Georges Car are not equal? In last interview claire herself said that the Time Robert loses to George is not because of his hand or experience but because of the Car (claire said it). He has options to stay in f1, HAAS wants him as a 3rd driver because as we know Robert is Just amazing in developing a Car, Robert developing a Car can get him up for a 2021 seat because of the new regulations or he could hop in 2020 for grosjean if he crashes which prob Will happen. Owner of Force India, stroll also wants him as 3rd driver. Alfa Romeo is defiently not a choice for him, Roberts sponsor Orlen is a fuel company and as we know alfa=Shell and Orlen + Shell wont most likely work together so yeah
Marcel Piszczek He said that he’s leaving Williams at least which probably also means a race seat, that’s all I’m saying
Yes he is leaving F1 Williams race seat. Which was good decision because he would only get up the price vs latifi for the race seat. Leaving Williams doesnt mean leaving F1 he can hop on for a 3rd driver and drive on fridays with a better Car than Williams and hop in a seat for 2021 or 2020 for Romain grosjean
Please, upload Kubica's onboard form Suzuka Q3 lap described by Alan Permane as "I've never seen a driver give that much in a lap. That was him - he's totally committed in a way most other drivers wouldn't even understand."
That lap left Robert afterwards speechless and in a daze, so much of himself had he given, so close to an accident had he been for much of the lap.
We all would like to see it !
maciotacio Yes, we want this!

Kubica the uncrowned champion
This is one of the most skilled f1 laps I've ever seen in my life, insane
Thing is his next lap was even faster through sector 1, but then something happend i don't remember what maybe yellow flag but he was about to make a pole.
Kubica is so underrated
The most gifted driver ive seen since the schumacher days. Such a shame about his injury
Robert Kubica was something else. Also reminded me of Schumacher in terms of sheer commitment during a driver and then being crippled later by an injury :(
@@Firebolt1729ty jestes trollem
What a lap. Miss 'u Kubica
If you read back on media about 2010 f1, kubica was almost unaminously voted driver of the season by most media and f1 websites/forums by both journalists and fans.
This lap and Trulli's pole are my favorite onboard laps in Monaco.
That's why Monaco race track is legendary and insane thing that do not needs any overtake to enjoy. Real fans will understand that beauty.
Beautiful lap. Genius
Magical lap
This man deserves a race seat...
millohale You say that, based on an onboard footage from 2010. He is not the same anymore, not even close. If he would deserve a race seat, then he would have to outperform his competition. But he didn't.
So does Sirotkin. It's healthy for the sport to constantly have new talent come in. It's useless to have feeder series if it doesn't feed the main show.
Agreed, just got caught up in the media hype and thought it would be an amazing sporting comeback given his horrific injuries. Still enjoy watching the young talent supported as they’re the future of the sport but it would’ve been nice to see what he could actually do in a race car amongst other drivers
millohale It would've definitely been an amazing story if he had made it back to racing. I understand that to many people it's hard to see older drivers not get to F1 anymore or leave it. It will be a sad day to see Räikkönen go same with Alonso who I don't really appreciate anymore, but it will still be a dark day to see him go. Personally I'm also excited to see what all the new talents can do this season. Almost half the grid are young drivers, including Verstappen and Ocon as well.
Not yet. He's not yet really ready.
I've watched a lot of rides of different racing categories in monaco but this is the most perfect ride I've ever seen
Only Senna in 88 was better
i posted on instagram about this, his sector 3 made me change my view on driving as a whole..
I just saw ur comment and came here ahahahahah
Wow. Forget hitting the wall, how did he even manage to keep the car stable during those S bends. Superb skill!
What a lap!
Car looked so smooth, driving looked superb, sliding at the right places, fantastic at the slow corners
0:58 - 01:02 - almost shit myself......
He didn't :D
Yep, that's Monaco for ya!
This guy can drive. Smoothest run I've seen.
These Bridgestone Tyres were just op!! Gave so much grip. That sound when he downshifts 😍
WeBreatheRacing pirelli tyres gives more grip
Michelin tyres were car superior
@@noobednatherium4082 goodyear is better
@@hamankarn91 No
I too belive Bridgestone tyres had more grip+durability. I don't know why F1 allows such a thing like Pirelli. Saving tyres used to be an option not a necessity.
It's just a masterpiece Mr. Kubica!
You can always find mistakes of driver and you think driver could have made time to go faster but here Kubica left none to be gain. Best qualy lap of Monaco in modern F1 you will ever find!
What

FORZA Robert Kubica !!!!!
I remember watching this live. I didn't think I was watching history being written! What a great time, and great driver.
P2 WITH THAT CAR !!!!!!
Sukhraj Mann the renault wasnt bad, upper midfield car. great effort nonetheless
xRhadamanthX x Ye but his team mate petrov qualifyed 14th
Sukhraj Mann Petrov was underperforming the whole season except at abu dhabi, much to alonsos chagrin

Holly shi..... incredible. He was a great driver so sad the accidents ruined his F1 career.
Everytime i watch this lap im sure, his one of the best in f1 history
And today they are trolling him even forgetting his past f1 experience
His flying lap before this one. I saw him come out of Tabac corner (just before the swimming pool section). Never seen anybody go that fast before! You couldn't tell the difference between the other cars driving through there. But he was so quick it was like he was almost a second quicker through Tabac than anyone else.
Kubica definitely would have challenged for championships, he had already signed to drive for Ferrari from 2012. What a shame!
I'm his compatriot but I'm ashamed that he pushed himself into idiotic rallies ... if not for today he would probably have a few titles of world champion ...: /
@@barabarapoco2384 rallies aren't idiotic, someone who created the barriers to work like that is an idiot
This lap and mark Webber's lap are two of the best around. Fantastic video!
True but Red Bull was a better car
Well , the first lap of 2003 of juan montoya was crazy and even faster than the qualifying, u should see it
The perfect lap!
It's honestly scary. He put a Renault on the front row. Ever since Fernando renualt have struggled. Yet somhow this man carries the entire team.Unbelievable.
Oh Robert, Robert, we miss you!
Too fast too furious
Sirotkin to slow
but faster than Kubica xD
But bigger wallet, than Kubica.
Man, who do you mean?
Especially those downshifts. Who else downshifts that quickly in F1 now?
Best driver EVER!!!
That livery was gorgeous
Kubica’s Driving is smooth here. Really impressive.
That sound though... Simply awesome!!
The 2011 crash really made us miss quite a driver, prime Kubica is definitely one of my favorite drivers
Such a clean driver, very little steer corrections, it would be awesome to see him race again in F1 this year!
Wow, amazing lap. Show this to anyone who doubts Kubica’s true skills
1:03 Can you get any closer without hitting the barrier!?
Pomelo Pictures You get a bit closer, and It's a DNF. xD

It’s a shame he’s not going to be racing this season, but let’s hope in the future he gets something!
