It seems better these days but back in the last century there were almost no bikes (or gear), and none in stock in shops that fitted either me or my husband - me 165cm, him 196cm! We used to wonder what the shops were for really...
As somebody with a lot of top-end power but who takes a while to "spin up" and doesn't have that acceleration, I'm well-suited to giving leadouts so I'm very happy to see this video.
hardest thing about racing is actually getting people to race, can we have a video to encourage people to get started, too many club riders love the sprint down the road, but getting them to actually race is harder than pulling teeth.
Like the video. Very thorough and informative. But you forgot two very important sprinter techniques, head butting and hip checking.....a la Cavendish.
Does someone know what size of bike and crank lenght is Conor using? Iam quite short at 2m compared to Conor but iam chosing new bike now, so a little comparison would be great info. Thanks PS: That Orbea looks amazing.
I'm 198cm tall and ride a 61cm frame with a 120mm stem that's also -20 degrees. My cranks are 175 and IMO that's as long as you need for regular riding. Big Mig only used 180s for his TT riding. But really, a good bike fitter (preferably someone who does this either as a side business or full time) will set you up. Some bike shops have amazing bike fitters, so really don't.
HI.. I hope you have time to reply to this posting. I don't cycle competitive so i don't know the strategy that is done on a race. When on a team, do you have the team work for a particular rider to win?
Grat lead out tips, but Chris needs a beard trim, possibly a shave, helmets look terrible and one of the bikes looks really large but nice color scheme. Thanks for keeping up the good work :)
@Tri Radio thanks! I was at Bath odddown last week and people mentioned that place, so I wondered. A bit of a trek from Bournemouth, but will have to go e it a go this year!
This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
This is all very well in theory. Trouble is when you set all this up, you find out who your friends are. Some of your lead out train probably really hate you, are jealous of what limited success you have or have had, the outright swines will soft pedal at the crucial moment, move to the wrong side, put you into the wind, do a late snot rocket....... I think our club was amongst the pioneers of this in the late 60s. Look, mate, I'm really sorry me and your girlfriend got up to a little hide the sausage after the club dinner, but putting me in the gutter 50 yards from the line was seriously OVER THE TOP! I don't get out much.
1.Go with the break away team 2.Draft gehind them (dont fall back) 3.Attack where you are strong 4.Waste your enemies stamina by letting them draft 5.Sprint like sagan 6.Have thus kind of riders on your team 2 sprinters for checkpoints 2 climbers for checpoint for uphills 2 all arounder one for drafting and one for final sprint
What is the best Lead Out you've ever seen?
You are the best
Legion of LAs lead out train is pretty good
Mathieu van der Poel in the Amstel Gold race😆
@@ageethcuijpers6581 He's a 1 man lead out train!
@@lj2616 We have a video with Justin Williams coming out soon! Keep your eyes peeled!
Since you have such a tall presenter, pls make a video about cycling tips for tall riders. I think a few of us would appreciate it.
If Connor needs someone to draft with, call me as I'm 198.
Curious about his bikes too
It seems better these days but back in the last century there were almost no bikes (or gear), and none in stock in shops that fitted either me or my husband - me 165cm, him 196cm! We used to wonder what the shops were for really...
Yes. I'm very curious. I'm 'only' 194 cm, but I have long legs with a 100 cm inseam. I'd be interested in Connor's thoughts on bike size.
Please couldn’t agree more. I’m 6ft 3, and you pretty much all the time give shelter to riders smaller than you.
Actual sprinters giving advice on sprinting... This is something new for GCN
Bell tried, but man are those some ugly mushroom cap helmets.
I was going to comment exactly this.
Exactly this.
Hahahahaha
I miss the KASK sponsorship :(
Thought same thing looks like a mushroom tip 🍄 🍆
Not too long ago, I watched a video with 4 presenters on it with entirely different faces than in this video.
This channel sure grows fast...
As somebody with a lot of top-end power but who takes a while to "spin up" and doesn't have that acceleration, I'm well-suited to giving leadouts so I'm very happy to see this video.
Awesome video everyone. I would love to see more about the inner workings of a race strategy like this!
As someone who only recently got interested in watching races, I found this highly informative! Thanks!
Not happening, for a leadout i would need friends :(
I'm sorry, but I just can't get over the size difference now with your amazing new presenter 🤣👍🏻
Line B it‘s all about technique. ;)
Yeah-- Manon packs a huge amount of power in her petite frame!!
@@leeoien3645 she's amazing! A true inspiration to us women 👍🏻
Really enjoyed that.. great beards Chris and Conor.. Sprint Hank!! Great job Manon.. 🚴🚴🚴🚴✊🏻
The new guy looks like Gandalf amongst the hobbits :D
On their way to Mordor! :))
One does not simply sprint into Mordor.
I hope you guys got paid nicely for the Bell sponsorship because...... woof! Always a fun watch though thanks GCN
Pretty awesome, guys. Really love this video!
I think Chris would be able to win Tour de France stages with that leadout
Yay, more sprint technique videos please!
I wouldn’t want to draft behind Conor - I need at least a slight headwind or I’ll overheat. It’d be like riding on Zwift.
The draft from just legs isnt great. Thats where Id be in relation to him.
Kevin McQuaid Yeah, those bendy straws wouldn’t give anyone much to hide behind.
I'd draft him in a heartbeat... it's rare for me to find another cyclist around my height.
So Are we gonna talk about Chris beard? 😂
Horrid... looked good for a while... now it's gone forest Gump when he was running across the USA.
At first I thought this was a GCN Espanol video.
This edition was a joy to watch. Good coverage!
This is great video. Always wanted to know what goes on in Team Racing. This is so interesting!
Connor looks like the teacher of a kindergarten group. How tall is he?

$ponsors nick w
@SEAL CYCLE great they play that one on a continuous loop for stowmarket cycle club
It looks like Conor is lending a co-presentars bib, whilst waiting for his own winter kitt to arrive
Like the video. Very thorough and informative. But you forgot two very important sprinter techniques, head butting and hip checking.....a la Cavendish.
Is it true that GCN had to invest in a new set of extra wide camera lens, to fit Connor in the shot?
How good would it be if Connor and Emma were in one video?
Awesome...🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
Awesome shots!
Must of shot this a couple times at the beginning Chris was on his white Orbea, then later he was on a Pinarello!
Conor, I was always the point man on the lead out train as well. People our size afford a lot of shelter to the rest of the train. 😁
That was the cutest huddle ever.
Does someone know what size of bike and crank lenght is Conor using? Iam quite short at 2m compared to Conor but iam chosing new bike now, so a little comparison would be great info. Thanks
PS: That Orbea looks amazing.
Martin Kroutil just based on the size of the 700c wheels compared to the frame I would say somewhere between 60-64cm.

wow thats a biiiiig frame.,.
When do you incorporate the headbutt? It looks like an integral part of most sprinters final 100 metres 🥴
Chris is my favorite GCN presenter! Look at that beard
Excitedddddd
I want to see Connor race Oscar on eachothers bike :d
Connor will not have the same problem as Oscar! :))
@@petinka721 He might not be able to reach the pedals tho ;)
GCN does a lead out video in the rain. Followed by Jon @ GCN Tech with how to properly clean and dry four road bikes after a day in the rain....
Jon is no longer a presenter. He's going behind scenes to work for the app 🙄😔
While others are full force on sprinting, Manon is just chill every shot on her hahahahaha
Please use different helmets🙈
HI.. I hope you have time to reply to this posting. I don't cycle competitive so i don't know the strategy that is done on a race. When on a team, do you have the team work for a particular rider to win?
When can we expect Conor and Manon to try CX with JPowers?

i wish i have a roadbike

Hmmm... This is all very technical. I am just looking at the big guy how tall he and his bike is. :P
What size for 5'81/2 female
Great helmets ! 😂
