Shan! I have been devouring Barry’s idea s and practicing them on guitar for the last two years…. Been using to for some chord melody flavor. But never quite grasped, and never have gotten an answer from any other TH-cam teachers on specifically how to apply it to a ii-V. This is beyond helpful-it’s revelatory. A million thank you’s!
Im so grateful för this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Barry would be proud!
Shan = always Chrystal clear, clear sailing on the sea of understanding, no worries or confusion - so glad our paths crossed!
Here is my positive comment: I like your vids
I'm hearing so many different jazz standard songs within these Barry movements.
I like how Barry used the word "movements" to describe this process because it alludes to how counterpoint is the basis for all harmony historically, rather than the contemporary concept of "chord progressions."
Great show
Thank you, Maestro Shan⭐🌹⭐
man, just messing around with this is already gold
thanks
This is a big material
Super clear, really shows the potential of this approach. It’s a route to endless possibilities not a closed off set of sounds. So glad I took the plunge and joined Jazz Skills, so many materials, so much help from you and the other Jazz Skillers - and whisper it, but so much fun as well. Sometimes hard to see your own improvement from the inside, but wow the progress I’ve seen in other members is quite amazing, but also inspiring. As always thanks Shan you doing an important job fantastically.
Thank you for sharing, Shan! This video really clarified the harmonic movement aspect of the Barry Harris method. Much appreciated, as always.
I keep coming back to your videos Shan, they are relaxed but pack a ton of gold into each one. Many thanks
Great!
I've been listening to your videos for a while now and also spent a few months on the paid site. This is one of my favorite lessons I've seen you do. Thank you!
That is something I think I knew. But it is always helpful to have a look explicitly at it. Cool, thx man!
Takes a long time to master! Nice job!
😅😅 love you much
Thank you, so helpful... I'm thinking about signing up for your house. You're such a clear and concise teacher. You make concepts easy to grasp n apply.
Thank you Shan. Really appreciate
Thank you very much Shan for this video, it is particularly useful to know where to start with movement.
It’s interesting that at 4:00 the F6 basically becomes F dim. Aka Aflat dim.
❤
Great lesson Shaun. What library are you using for the piano sound? Keyscape?
😀
6:54 could be a Jacob Collier Quote... ;)))
Why you never talk about dominant7 diminished scale?
Out of my pay grade. I'll be back.
😂😂Bill evans.. please
I Surrender, Dear
