The theoretical best inputs are always slightly different in real time since not every run will be capable of making the skip, wasting weeks to months of time for one run which MIGHT get to a wr competitive time.

They are for knock back, the longer nail hits the wall, it just doesn't look that way, and at the rate of speed they are going because of TAS assistance, it is hard to actually see the small knock back of it, hope this helps.

Cyclone slash requires you to dash over the blades near the bottom before the first checkpoint, and the TAS doesn't have dash available at that point, so they pogo and skip landing on the platform which is just as good. Idk what you mean about the downdash, is there normally one?

Played it again 2 years later with 3 hours, repeated it with 1 hour, repeated it with around 45 minutes and 45 minutes again, although my progress slowed down much because I was getting tired, in my last one I completed the last obstacle path the second try. You are both so fast, but 20-25 minutes if real is just unbelievably fast to me first try,
it's a glitch commonly used in any% all glitches, where you start in godmode, then do some actions I don't know how to explain and boom, here you are with a new gamefile in normal mode but with everything you would have in godmode, so all masks, all fragments, all charms and all charm notches
so just a question. for us normies is the easiest way to do this just to leave a dream gate to tp on every checkpoint so you don't have to restart from the bench every time?
What is the charm build? It looks like too many charms for the slots, even with overcharm. Perhaps some speedrunning tech removes the need for some of them. I saw shamen stone, sharp shadow, and at least mark of pride for nail range for sure, but the others I'm not so sure about (quickslash, longnail, dashmaster)
iirc the charm build for pop runs is sharp shadow, shaman stone, dashmaster, mark of pride and (i think) longnail but im not 100% sure on that. quickslash isnt rly needed for this because you can do turnarounds to cancel the nail animation to do a another nail hit quicker
