We lived in Florida for about 10 years. We moved to Colorado 8 years ago. We lived in Citrus County, Fl. Our home was about 25 minutes away from Ocala. There are some really nice areas in Ocala. We also have friends that have moved over the years to Lakeland and really enjoy that area. As far as Daytona, they have one of the highest crime rates in America. As a mom of 8 I personally would not want to raise kids in that area. Just my thoughts from personal experience and living in Florida for a decade. I hope you guys find your dream home!!!

That is really neat that you dont have to move all that furniture as well! You can pick exactly what will look good in your new home and get to personalize it the way you like. We moved furniture across country and a lot of it got damaged. We ended up having to buy new anyway. It was so frustrating!! So excited to see where you end up!!

Honey, you are an AMAZING Cleaner! You were raised right! I've watched dozens of Cleaning Videos & this is the first time I've Ever Watched someone dust, then wash their Walls & Screens! I've watched a few in Asia who clean their window casings, but never one in America that even came close to cleaning like you do!! 😊👍 I've been married for 55yrs & in every home we have had Sheer Curtains between the Draperies! I always washed them & hung them up damp! And you're right, afterwards the rooms smell Amazing! In the Spring & Summer, if you have the windows open & catch a Breeze, the smell of the freshly laundered curtains flows in the breeze all thru the House! (in FL use a fan) I wish you & your Family all the Best with your move & new Home! I'm also happy for you that you sold your House so fast! May you always be Blessed!

Very excited for y’all! My hometown is Apopka and my mom’s still there (since the late 50s-early 60s). It was just a small town when I was a kid and though it’s grown quite a bit, still feels like a tight knit community. It’s also super convenient to most everywhere. A little further NW is Mt. Dora which is beautiful old town and Sorrento which is still nice and wide open. Best of luck finding a great house and neighborhood!!!

Congrats on the house sale! What a bonus to sell furniture, too. It’s so expensive to move it. I’ve lived in south Florida for 33 years and will never move back north or anywhere with snow!. I have several friends who moved from south Florida to Ocaala. They do like it, however, the complaint is how hot it is in the summer as they get no ocean breezes that far inland. Lakeland is beautiful and I love it there, but it’s still inland. I prefer the gulf side, but, that’s too far from your family. The Mt. Dora area is beautiful, too. I have family that moved to Port Orange last year and absolutely love it there. My preference is definitely to live more coastal as I believe the temperatures are more comfortable with ocean breezes. I havent watched you much in the last 6 to 9 months my hubby had to come 1st he has been battling cancer for the last 6 years things have taken a turn 🙏. Congrats on selling your house! I'm not surprised that it sold so quickly. It's a great house, so well cared for and beautifully decorated. I was recently forced to give notice at my apartment and will be moving out of my place in 2 weeks. I'll also be leaving California after living here 37 years. I too will be making a cross country move, but in several steps. I'm getting rid of everything, but personal items that will fit in my car. The manager has said there is no need for deep cleaning as they are going to gut my place since I've lived here 13 years and there haven't been renovations in forever. Best of luck to you in the coming months as you make this life changing move!
One big thing to keep in mind about moving to FL is WATER! There are lakes, rivers, and canals everywhere. You want to make sure you chose a location that handles flooding well. Hurricanes can dump a tremendous amount of rain and if you’re near other bodies of water you want to make sure the ground will handle the excess water or it will end up in the house.

Im so happy about your home selling so quickly, how exciting, I have a sister in law who lives in Lakeland, Fl and she absolutely loves it. very little issues with hurricanes mostly just rain, but thats very tolerable. I think your kids are adorable and wish you nothing but a great journey on your upcoming move to the east coast. Hopefully it helps with allergies and any other health issues. Ocala here, if you are looking for a city/country feel this is the place for you. Like all places Ocala has its challenges, however for the most part the country area is beautiful. Good luck in your search.

I have family near Palatka and it's a beautiful area. It's nice that it's close enough to the coast to go whenever they want, but inland enough to not get the full hit from most hurricanes.

Cambria, I'm so excited about your upcoming move! We just moved to Florida 3 years ago and are sooo happy! We live in a small town that runs into Clermont. My suggestion would be to check Clermont out. Its a newer town, growing, being centrally located we are 1 hour from either coast. Orlando is only 25 mins away and Disney even closer. And yet your far enough away that its more rural. Also Clermont is very hilly!! Nice for raising familys parks and trails, lakes and charter and private schools..They are also adding 2 more public schools.. My daughter teaches at a private school and she said that the government gives scholarships to private and charter schools to alot of familys.. Something to think about!!! I really enjoy your channel and send Gods Blessings to you and your family!!!!
I'm not sure if this area in Florida would interest you but we stay at a friend's house near Lake Wales Florida. It's called Indian Lake Estates and is gated, has a large lake that's great fishing and a golf course. This place is a hidden gem if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of large communities. It has massive amounts of lots sitting empty and due to the housing boom has recently started expanding housing in the estate. So, developers are currently building homes there and offering to build to suit on empty lots. Its also a great place for kids to play safely. Not sure about the school districts but might be worth you guys checking it out. We love Florida and love this area as it's a good central location to travel to either coast or really anywhere in Florida easily. Good luck! We hope to spend winters there within the next few years.
Congratulations on selling your beautiful home! I live in Zephyrhills, which is just outside of Lakeland. I strongly encourage you to look at crime rates, predatory offenders registered in Lakeland, and school grades. The schools are not highly rated and while they have been attempting to make them better, it’s a long process. Zephyrhills is nice and there are a lot of homes being built but I also hear good things about Plant City and Ocala. There are some smaller towns north of Zephyrhills that you make consider with larger home sites.
You are one of the reasons I finally decluttered my whole house. I’m not a hoarder, but after years my taste in decorating changes. Time to let it go. My plastic bins in the garage are now only Christmas and Halloween stuff.

(Only ours has accumulated over 21yrs) We've had a recent Remodel Job done done stairs & it's funny, when you start removing things for the Crew to come in, you ask, "Why are we keeping This? Or, do we really even need this anymore?" NO!! The Charity & Resale Shops, as well as, young neighbors just starting out, are LOVING US! It's a Win, Win!!

At times I have felt that my house had to be a certain way and if I didn't get everything thing done so that my home looked like a show piece I would get down about it. I have realised that I am only human and after getting sick because of depression and not feeling good enough, I realised through watching your videos and others that it's OK to not have everything done that's on the list, it took me a long time to figure that out, but now I do what I can and always remember that housework will always be there. Ocala is awesome. It has a mix of open country feeling with horses around but also has the feel of a nice city in places. Of course, there are beautiful areas to live in versus less beautiful places but even in a lower income area to live, the city and the feel of the city compensates but if your fortunate enough to afford a cozier neighborhood it would be a beautiful choice. As a Floridian raising children, I wouldn't pick the beach areas. Nice to visit for the day but living environment is not as perfect unless of course you just want to be near a relative. I've also lived in Lakeland, which is nice for the most part but I would say it feels more congested and busy and there are a lot of industrial areas of the city so less beautiful views unless you live near the big lake. God bless you in your choice. I'll pray that you find the right place for you and your family.
The people who get to move into your guys’s home here are so very lucky and blessed bc you guys made it so homey as it is and it’s so very clean and with giving the furniture etc not many people do that so you guys are awesome for doing that! & Freya is just so cute on how she wants to help mama clean maybe a future little TH-camr in the making 😉 also I hope you do find your dream home in Florida bu you’re parents! Florida resident here! I’m on the Tampa area. Traffic on I-4 is terrible, especially in and around Orlando. If you plan on visiting your parents often, something to think about the Lakeland area would be battling traffic getting through O-town on your way to Daytona.

You got some pretty lucky buyers! Most people don’t get such a clean house to move into. Have you considered the Tampa Bay Area? It may be a little too far south, but I love it. We live in the Carrollwood area, north Tampa and I absolutely love it here. We moved here when I retired from the Air Force 4 years ago and I will never leave. The schools are pretty good here too, my daughter went to high school here. Great place for families.
Wow! I didn’t know that people still bought that much furniture with house. Your cleaning on a very consistent basis is why that’s happening.
I know it helped me so much to meet those buying the house. The couple that bought ours came on property early to install fencing for dogs. It helped my feelings of loss to know someone was going to love the place as much as we did

We just closed on a house. I’ve spent the last 3 days cleaning up filth that would made us literally gag. The house seemed nice and tidy at our showing but was totally disgusting when we got the keys. Your buyers are so blessed to be buying such a well tended to home and moving into it all nice and clean!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m making sure I deep clean the rental we are leaving as well!!!

I love your trick on cleaning the toilet with the brush and closing the lid on it while it drips dry. I always do that now. No more yucky toilet brush holders.

There's a city within 30 miles of Daytona called Palm Coast, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in Florida, and is so close to so many interesting areas. I would move there in a heartbeat! The city is beautiful, the beaches and water are clean and beautiful, from my understanding you can find homes in most any price range. Oh, I love the look of the carpet rake! Vacuum lines are never straight! 😂😂
We ordered new couch and loveseat on black Friday and 5 months later we just got them. It's taking a long time to get things right now. I send you my prayers you find your perfect house next month and your move goes smoothly 💋❤️
Congrats on selling your house! I grew up in Clermont, FL in South Lake County and was definitely a safe and great place to grow up. Clermont is now a bit more built up but there are also beautiful homes in the surrounding communities as well. South Clermont along US-27 has real nice communities and very good schools (Sawgrass Bay Elementary and Windy Hill Middle) I would say the schools in in South Lake County are much better than north Lake County and Marion County (Ocala, FL). From Clermont you are about 20 minutes from Disney and Downtown Orlando, 45 minutes from Lakeland, and about 90 minutes from Daytona Beach. I saw some commenters saying Mt. Dora, Apopka, and communities up north of Lake Apopka but those school districts are a bit rougher. You will have to feel them out I would say on your adventure around Central Florida but would definitely take a look at Clermont and the surrounding communities.

You have inspired me more than you know. I have been trying to make our home feel like royally living here. I want my husband to feel like he is the king of our home and my heart. He has been wanting to move, I have as well it is just we both just want what is best for our little family.
I live close to lakeland a very nice area and its not to big of city but big enough you also are right in the middle so close to Disney and tamp and beaches its a great spot. Housing market is still very crazy here so I would definitely start looking now as some closing are taking alot longer then you think and bidding wars are nuts here. I'm 45 mins outside of Lakeland and it was still super crazy in the small town we bought in. Good luck !!

I love your channel! Because of you i tried the Dawn Power Wash, and i love it! Because of you i bought a new hand vac which has saved me so much time. With my health issues I get motivated by you to do small sections and that has made a huge difference to me in my house even though it doesn't seem like it, yet. I've learned a lot from you and I'm your mom's age.
Moving can be such a pain, (I went to 11 different schools growing up, but my parents always made it feel like an adventure which for kids is key, since they are leaving behind friends.) I think its cool you got your house sold and the furniture, that is going to make moving so much easier and cheaper with a smaller truck to haul.
Are your folks going to come up here to help you load up?

I honestly like both carpet rake and vacuum lines for different things I mean I love the vacuum line and the immediate colour change and cleanliness from the vac but I like the finished look and the fluffy look after raking

Wow! Great video! I eolios to know what you were telling your husband when he was de cluttering his closet and you had your hand on your hip. Lol! I use dryer sheets to dust the ceiling fans and a little bit of bees wax to add shine. Put empty toilet paper holders inside the curtain pleats to make it look fuller. I’m from Central Florida and teach here. The Oviedo area is good, so is Avalon (near where I teach), which is not too far from Oviedo. Great schools in the area.
I’m so worried you’re going to fall from that chair! Have you tried an air purifier? We use a Germ Guardian air purifier and it catches a lot of the dust and stuff in the air. I’m too short to reach the ceiling fan - so I use a microfiber long reach duster.
I have learned mote cleaning techniques from you. As well as getting to see tools that help with cleaning. I hate constantly cleaning. I am the tyoe thaat needs to deep clean when I clean. You have helped remind me to take cleaning in small chucks for the over all goal.

Lifelong Central Florida resident here and I’m glad you reached out for advice. From what all you have posted I knew you were looking in Volusia County, personally I wouldn’t recommend that area, but that’s just me. Crime in that area has increased over the years and although like anywhere there are good and bad areas. I grew up in the Orlando area and now live just west of there in Clermont. Growing area, but decent schools and nice small town feel. Beautiful lakes (Lake County) and easy access to turnpike. Lakeland is an ok area, but I 4 traffic over there is awful. Ocala is beautiful and has some gorgeous farmland. In fact John Travolta lives in Ocala, not that he’s a reason to move there, just saying they have some beautiful areas. Not sure about their school districts. Remember you asked for information, LOL. Check Clermont out online, we are kind of in between Lakeland and Ocala. We have beautiful rolling hills and plenty of lakes. Good Luck on your house hunting, so exciting!

Delighted you and Bobby got the offer you wanted and that you got to sell off much of your furniture. I moved from Ireland to California in 2020 and I was lucky too, in that the people who bought my home also liked the furniture and bought it, which meant I didn't have to worry about trying to sell it all off before moving out. Ocala is nice. Beautiful horse country. St. Augustin and Jacksonville are nice also. DeLand is a beautiful historic place to live. My mom lives in DeLand and she loves it, and it's pretty close to your folks. I am excited for you to be in our Sunshine State 🙂
