Maple trees are just like people, the pretty boys ain’t worth squat but us craggy ole bushwhackers are priceless…when you need manure shovelled or a car pulled out of the mud :) The early signs or Spring are the best, aren’t they, can’t wait to see our honeybees on the clovers!! Cheers, Dan and Elle.
Man can I ever smell and almost taste that maple steam wafting in my face! Will sure miss hanging out there at the boil with you all and the kids. Here’s to a bountiful harvest!
Ha! You have a similar set up as ours here in Nova Scotia. It’s a TON of work so we only do it for the same reasons - we have much less to do that time of year 😆. We go for about 2 weeks, burn a ton of wood, walk a million miles and freeze our hands a lot! We get about 30-40 pints per year but the kids have fun … the first few days… then it turns into a chore 🤷♀️
@@birchfieldfarming sweet thanks! I appreciate the knowledge you are sharing! I just closed on 13.5 acres and will be a first generation farmer soon. I’ll be doing sheep, cows, and chickens similar to you following the Joel Salatin / Justin Rhodes styles and methods
Came for the St. Croix videos. Stayed for the syrup production. Awesome intro to maple syrup farming
Thanks for hangin!🤠

Hope you get a lot this year
Hey thanks! Weather looks promising thus far.
