MATERIALS / SUPPLIES:
- QUILLING SLOTTED TOOL
- SCISSORS
- TWEEZERS
- WHITE GLUE - I use white glue from the brand BIC

- PAPER STRIPS: I used 5 mm wide paper strips. The weight of the paper strips is 250 gsm (for the white letter), and for all the colorful elements surrounding the letter, the weight of the paper strips is 130 gsm.

- EMBOSSING TOOL (to make the dent marks, the letter guidelines). You can also use a pencil for this step.
- BASE CARD: 8x12 cm. I glued a 300 gsm paper on top of cardstock (that is also 300 gsm).

Absolutely stunning Miriam. Your rendering of the letter is so perfect, so difficult to achieve with a classic serif font like this. The clean lines and white space of the letter is perfectly balanced by the flowing and colourful flowers and leaves. I love the two tone petals of the roses and the little detail of the tapering of the stems. This is such a masterful series of quilling tutorials Miriam, your talent really is something special. ❤😘
Thank you so much, Orla! 😊 Yes, sometimes with serif fonts it's challenging getting those straight long lines and making sure things are even. I used a different combination of pinks for the roses than I normally do (I used one of the shades that I don't often use for them) and I really liked how it made them look. Roses are not the easiest flowers to make for me (with on-edge quilling) but I liked how these turned out. So happy you enjoyed watching! 🩷

I think with roses, you just have to play with the paper strips and glue them randomly, and see what turns out, that's what I try to do 😊.

Soo beautiful! How hard was it to paint the water color with the letter already there? Have you ever painted before putting the letter on? What are the pros and cons of each way? Soo pretty!
Thank you very much, Penelope! 😊 I've never painted before making the letter. I've always done the watercolors after making the letter. I have to be extra careful but it works 😊. But I think it would be easier and safer to paint with watercolors before making the letter. I don't know how I end up always painting after I've made the letter 🙈.
