Tobias, when asked, stated, The band is satanic, but no one in the band is. Sums it up pretty well . There is a whole ongoing fictional story to go with the band. Lots of fun.
they were asked in an interview couple years back "do you guys believe in Satan?" and their response was just "What matters is that he believes in us" i guess that and your comment describe them pretty good
The whole satanic thing... It's not a lifestyle, it's theater. I'm fairly certain that none of them go grocery shopping dressed like that ☺️ oh, and Every one of their songs is catchier than the next one. For very dark yet catchy, I suggest you listen to the song "Ritual". For unbelievable catchiness, listen to "Spillways" or "Witch Image"
I liked Ghost since they arrived, their look and overall aesthetic seemed to be ultra-heavy metal yet they reminded me more of Blue Oyster Cult than say Metallica or heavier bands; most bands were getting faster, heavier, darker but Tobias took it in the opposite direction bringing back that classic late '70's/early '80's hard rock/metal style and sound. Tobias can write some great pop-hooks with classic rock style, he's quite the visionary band leader and composer, the whole presentation is so well done.
For pure satanic song from them I suggest Year Zero and to be blown away when it comes to their theme there is He Is. If you want funky 80s I suggest Dance Macabre or almost any song from their newest album Impera. And for pure Tobias glory, go look at Mary On A Cross Live in FL.
What's the benefit? Freedom of choice, if you ask any Satanist (and in Ozzy's words- don't ask me, I don't know!). Seriously, though, Tobias's vision for the band is "why would the devil try to recruit you to his side using dark gothic music that not many people listen to. He plays catchy songs that everyone loves- isn't that a better way to recruit?". Basically, it's all anti-organized religion and telling people to use their brains.
this is my fave ghost song it’s epic live. my brother got me interested in them. i only follow two other bands AHA from Norway ( The viking invasion of 1985 with Take on me which penetrated my heart and never left. I was 16 years old then and i’m 53 now and still love AHA more than ever. A criminally unappreciated and underrated band with a huge back catalogue of quality music. and HIM (Ville Valo) from Finland (love metal) Take care and thanks for reacting to square hammer by Ghost 😘🏴👍🏻
Hey man I've been watching your reactions for years and I just realized I hadn't subscribed. That's my bad, anyway that has been fixed. Also I have been a Ghost fan since their first album Opus Eponymous and I know what you mean. They are tricksy and false and make you sell your soul to the devil by just singing their catchy lyrics/songs. Very devious of them and I think they are totally Satanic. When you keep singing satanic lyrics and music in your head after hearing them I think if your not careful you might actually become a believer. If you delve deeper into their music and lyrics it will become "normal for you to sing these words in your head", which I know is strange but at that point you have to decide for yourself what their meaning really is. And they back their lyrics up with real Biblical facts which makes it even harder to decide. Love your reactions man \,,/
If you want to hear a heavier and more prog song of theirs that is still catchy as hell, I recommend Absolution, particularly this recording of it! th-cam.com/video/z3QBAyZJjJ8/w-d-xo.html
And just a heads up, the singer (who's also the mastermind of the band) is wearing a sillicone mask and singing through it. He plays different characters throughout the albums in a similar way Bowie used to
Ghost is about as Satanic as Scooby Doo, but are top-level songwriters and performers. Their songcraft is as good as it gets. Check out Rats, Faith, Spillways or Cirice as well.

I love the ongoing fictional story Tobias has created. Reminds me of Avatar’s continuous fictional story.

@@hansele666 That's such a badass response, love it.

I saw them live a few weeks ago, fantastic live band
Hell yeah, they are. Saw them in Maine, after never hearing a note. I was an instant and immediate fan. So much fun.

3:05 Burnin' for you by Blue Oyster Cult (which this song reminds me of) also had the lyrics "I'm livin' for givin' the devil his due)
I have mentioned Blue Oyster Cult many times when people say that Ghost are not a rock band.
TOBIAS FORGE...GENIUS...🤘🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤

You gotta do Marry on a Cross, live in Tampa next. They are a fantastic live band.
Ghost is my favorite! Thanks for the reaction! ❤
Great reaction! This is such a good song.

Ghost is amazing, you should react to something from they newest album. Griftwood of Spillways, if you want more of this 80s synthy feeling.
Spillways is a newer one that's awesome as well should check out
Now THAT's an ABBA homage 😀

You should check out their song Cirice. Ghost won a Grammy for it a few years back. 🤘
I like you…subbed lol. Do more Ghost and Hail Satan too 🤘🏻
It's "Call Me Little Sunshine".
It's theater....shock rock....like Alice Cooper back in the day.....

Please, do Year Zero for more Satan 🤣
You Should React To Griftwood Or Pinnacle to the pit
I love your reaction they so catchy but the lyrics are usually satanic XD
You must listen to Cirice
No satanic music in tbe 80s? 🤣🤣
I don't think they are really I think it's all theatrical live shows they go all out they kinda like a Broadway satanic metal xD
I feel like we used to get high together . Find a way to market that lol love it man
