HonCC's Fire & Environmental Emergency Response Program

Today’s fire professionals do more than fight fires. If you’re interested in fire prevention, emergency response, or fire investigation, consider HonCC’s Fire and Environmental Emergency Response (FIRE) program. Our program is designed to meet your needs whether you are interested in pursuing a career in this field, or if you are already employed in fire services and want to increase your knowledge and skills. Upon completion of this program, you’ll have a competitive edge and the skill set necessary for a successful and fulfilling career in the fire services field.
This is the only college-level FIRE training program on O‘ahu. This program will give you an opportunity to receive ProBoard Certifications in Hazardous Materials and Firefighter, as well as National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. You’ll also be able to apply for a fire recruit position as a Student Trainee through the Pathways Program with the federal government. In addition, certifications earned in the program can make you eligible as a higher-level recruitment candidate with the Honolulu Fire Department.
