Some musicians might be able to imitate his style and music but NO ONE can play his music with the soul and passion that he had. I'm just blessed that there were shows they did that were recorded!! RIP
SRV was put on this Earth to play & perform, I read his bio & he never wanted to do anything else, we were bless to have him for awhile. Thank you for playing SRV.
This is my favorite video of Stevie doing this song because of the genuine look on his face after his solo and the audiences reaction..it really shows his personality.
I’m a 54 year old white musician from Texas. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. One of the first things I learned was that music has no color. But the truth is that the only truly American music is the blues that began with black Americans. Jazz, rock, and all other forms of modern western music came from the blues. Stevie openly and often acknowledged this and played the blues with the passion and respect that it deserves which is another reason he is a true Texas hero in my view.
I Love your Amazing and heartfelt reactions to Stevie...This young man had IT..God given and from the soul..I am a Blues collector..First time I heard him I fell hard..Never grow tired of him.. Never be another..thank God we have his music! Thank You!!
I saw an interview where he said he would not sing or do a song if he didn’t believe in it and he said he gives it his all when he performs because he wants to make sure he gives a good show and don’t want to disappoint anyone
I’m so grateful that I lived in Austin during the years I could see Stevie play many times in the city and around the state. I was living in the UK when he died and it crushed me. I had been a drummer from the age of 10 and messed with the guitar sporadically. Some years after his death I discovered that my marriage was over and I had been on a flight that landed in Providence and had to drive up to Connecticut. I was in low spirits and homesick. I turned on the radio to hear SRV. His music was what I needed at that moment, and it my soul back to Texas and inspired me on the spot to stop an buy a guitar. That became my therapy and it stuck. Well into my 50s now and still play. That dude moved and inspired so many people. It’s good him still being celebrated.
Stevie played with a passion unparalleled. Lots of people can play the blues, not everyone feels the blues. Stevie felt that music down deep in his soul and when he played, he just poured every drop of it out and gave it every ounce of himself. Truly, truly in a category of his own.
As much as I love the guitarist I live the man more. Who he became after he went into recovery was amazing. Please consider Life Without You. It is a beautiful song written for his friend Charley Wirz who died of a heart attack. He was Stevie's mentor and worked on guitars with him. Beautiful surprise in the song
Thank you so much, bro. I'm a huge fan of SRV who was lucky enough to grow up in Austin (where he made his home after leaving Fort Worth, TX) listening to this man. But I never saw this live performance before. Thank you. That's a treasure.! Btw, love the new presentation.
John Mayer described SRV's guitar playing as (paraphrasing here) like a F-15 jet taking off into the sky and doing a few rolls, tricks, and low altitude fly-bys at full throttle and still the ability to land as calmly and precisely as a paper airplane directly on the center line.
Ive loved SRV for years, saw him play live twice and hes been my favorite ever since. Not to take anything away from other greats I love such as EVH (RIP) Nobody play blues/soul like Stevie, what a tragic loss it is when we lose such a talent and such a man as this--RIP SRV.
Thank you for starting my day with my favorite artist SRV!!❤️ . I love his smile when the audience appreciates his solo. This is one I watch over and over again. Life Without You from this same concert at the Capitol Theatre is what I would suggest next. It’s a whole new level of appreciation and shows what a truly wonderful person he is along with the amazing talent he has. Can’t wait for it!!!
It's a damn shame there's been some fools giving you shit about how you handle yo business. I think you have done a wonderful job at reacting. Your pauses were always on point to me. It's always like finding a diamond in the rough, when a reactor is just humbled by witnessing such greatness. This man keeps me humbled and appreciative of what he was able to leave for us to be inspired by. You are a true artist and you respect the craft and are so moved by it. Respect to you, sir. Respect to the late and great SRV.
Hey DS! I want to say your descriptions and remarks are spot on and please don't EVER excuse yourself for stopping to react, because that's why I come to your channel and YOURS above all others now. Your reactions are such a joy to witness because I know that you get it!! In your words and just your facial reactions, I hear and see that you are feeling and hearing what I feel and just an ounce of what Stevie must have felt. Just be you DS!! I love and appreciate you!! Stevie looked up to his older brother and he emulated Jimi Hendrix. He has done several Hendrix songs and I being a big fan of Hendrix, dare say that he even surpassed him in a few of them. He also looked up to Freddie King, B. B. King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, rock guitarist Lonnie Mack and jazz guitarist Jennie Burrell. Stevie was so respected at a young age by the greats that he was welcomed to jam with BB King, Albert King and Albert Collins. That right there tells you what Stevie had accomplished musically, what talent he was blessed with, to be embraced by such great artists as them. A few Hendrix covers that Stevie did were Little Wing th-cam.com/video/i6G53BMgugo/w-d-xo.html Third Stone from the Sun th-cam.com/video/sYEEovuhsgY/w-d-xo.html As you know he did VooDoo Child. He also did Manic Depression. Another cool video is Stevie playing Pipeline with his brother Jimmy sharing ONE double neck guitar!! th-cam.com/video/TdmlEZAWYIM/w-d-xo.html SRV playing The Sky is Crying th-cam.com/video/EI9TS4O5Ww4/w-d-xo.html I hope you enjoy and hope to share more with you! 🤗
There are a lot of great guitar players. However, when Stevie Ray Vaughn plays, it’s as though he and the guitar morph into one. I miss all the great music he could have given us. RIP, SRV.
Great video!! Love the Stevie!! Check out Stevie Ray Vaughan & Albert (The Iceman) Collins do “Frosty” Live in New Orleans. Guaranteed head bopping and foot tapping!! 0 to 100 and in your face!! Maybe get Albert Collins into the blues rabbit hole you have going on... He’s a legend. Thanks for the content & entertaining reactions.👍smashed!!
Great reaction! After watching Stevie pour out his soul, I would be remiss in not suggesting reactions to Gary Moore. He also was taken from us too soon, in 2011. I would suggest 2 different live performances, both at the Montreux Jazz Festival: 1990 'The Messiah Will Come Again' and 2010 'Parisienne Walkways'. There are other performances of these songs on YT, but these are breathtaking and should be the ones selected, please. These will bring out the same emotions as listening to SRV. Aren't we lucky to have had both?
“Tick Tock” by the Vaughan Brothers. if you’ve never checked out the record Stevie Ray made with his brother Jimmie right before the helicopter crash... check it out. Album is ‘Family Style’. Produced by Nile Rodgers. Jimmie wrote this, speaks the intro; Stevie sings it. Wonderful song. Thanks!
Thanks for awesome reaction. Believe this is among the best of the best blues ever written (SRV) or performed. When Stevie is not playing, and just singing, his left hand is attached to the guitar constantly moving as if he is playing, with right hand attached to mike or giving hand gestures. His whole self is in this. He has constant facial expressions and moves guitar up and down to make it moan. The solo was the final release of emotion, the crowd felt it and when done, the audience cheered. Stevie acknowledged audience with a smile knowing the pain they felt with him was gone. This is what great blues is supposed to do. This whole concert is memorable. Please do “Life Without You” from this same Capitol Theater show-another souls grabber Stevie wrote about a friend who died-he switched guitars at very beginning to the guitar his friend built him.😎💝🕊
I came to SRV in March 2020! Aware of his music but busy @ the time with a young family! So March 2020 Found Me Shelter in place luckily working remote and looking for some relief and a way to keep my sanity! And I found your Channel! Yes yes and yes! Can't escape reality but you do need a breather every now and then and remind yourself they're still good and beautiful things in the world! Try SRV Riviera Paradise and for something really fun try Give Me Back My Wig! BOTH SRV!
Can't go wrong with Stevie. If you love guitar, check out Jeff Beck. Also, Al Dimeola, Paco DeLucia, and John McLaughlin Friday Night In San Francisco.
With SRV I find that I don't need the scotch 🥃!!! 😂 🤣 😅 😱 I love Riviera Paradise but I also love his rendention of Little Wing. Even Jimi approved that one!!! 🥰
He plays a very heavy gauge string because he had very strong fingers and beat the shit out of them. You can often hear the strings screaming for mercy. Mercy!
Here's another great song by Stevie where he starts (literally) talking to the audience and drops some deep spiritual/soul knowledge. "Life Without You". th-cam.com/video/ijDE1GiLvws/w-d-xo.html
I'm tellin' ya bro, you'd like Storyville. It's the same SRV rhythm section, with 2 killer guitar players (different from Stevie Ray, but still incredible) and super soulful singer.
I was waiting for you reaction guys to discover this performance. 9/21/85. My birthday at 13, got into him a couple years later. Saw him weeks before he died. You did 2 great ballads. Now try something upbeat. Does he do scuttle buttin on this one?
Nobody and I mean nobody was better than Stevie Ray Vaughan I don’t care he’s the only white guy that’s ever been put in the blues Hall of Fame is the best guitar player and even the black guitar players and I’ve seen a lot of them Jimi Hendrix Copeland I am at even Valon of Eric Clapton Robert Plant I mean the page there that plays in Led Zeppelin I’ve seen a lot of them but nobody compares to Stevie Ray Vaughan love them and I always well thank you for being a fan of hisLiz the queen he’s got a Lotta saw that for me
YES!!! More "dirt-floor, juke joint nastiness!" There's a precious few, and I mean no insult when I say this, but Stevie was always great at making a guitar his "btch" for the evening lol...just ridiculous.
One of the great tragedies of my life is not living long enough, or not being born early enough, to see him play live.
Now that was a masterpiece. 👍
This is my favorite video of Stevie doing this song because of the genuine look on his face after his solo and the audiences reaction..it really shows his personality.
There's nothing to say he's PHENOMENAL!!!!!
His band was great as well.
Life without you at the same show he has a great message in the middle of the song. Great reaction man.
When HE Showed those SMILES!!💜💯
Lord have mercy! Stevie Ray Vaughan was an amazing artist! Gone far too soon.
RIP SRV. ❤🙏
Love the new look.
Thank you

The GREATEST OF ALL TIME IN ANY GENRE! Nothing else to be said except God bless him...God rest his soul & God I miss him! Taken away to soon....😢😔🙏🏼🐐
I Love your Amazing and heartfelt reactions to Stevie...This young man had IT..God given and from the soul..I am a Blues collector..First time I heard him I fell hard..Never grow tired of him.. Never be another..thank God we have his music! Thank You!!
This is my favorite version of this song
THE GOAT.....came to him as natural as breathing. Love his talented heart!!!
SRV= automatic “like” ... because I know he’s about to knock your socks off!
Another one of the GOATS. When he plays and sings it never sounds like it was learned. It sounds like he was born for this purpose. Just great. 🔥
That Man could play.
Wearing my Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble T-shirt watching this.
" Life Without You" from this show, buckle up You'll Love It ❤🙏
Enjoy all his material, online or not, blocked or not. This guy is a must listen, plain and simple
I saw an interview where he said he would not sing or do a song if he didn’t believe in it and he said he gives it his all when he performs because he wants to make sure he gives a good show and don’t want to disappoint anyone
Great new look 👀 an..... SRV... nuf said 🤘🏼🤠🎸🤘🏼🤠🎸🤘🏼🤠🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎧🎧🎧🎧
Great way to start the day . at 3:42 AM. And what a beautiful Squash Blossom Necklace .

As soon as he starts playing. I feel my shoulders relax. Love, love his spirit and emotion that are in every song from the first chord.
Love your reactions!!! I think you do a good job! Like the full screen video format!
Thank you so much, that means so much to hear you say
You know Stevie is my man and can do no wrong. This is an incredible version. His solo is nothing less then perfection. Love the new format!
Stevie played with a passion unparalleled. Lots of people can play the blues, not everyone feels the blues. Stevie felt that music down deep in his soul and when he played, he just poured every drop of it out and gave it every ounce of himself. Truly, truly in a category of his own.
Leave my girl alone is a cool SRV song with great vocals

I ADORE THIS MAN💜💯

This is Texas blues brother, Texas Blues.
Stevie Ray is the Man!! One of my favorite song of his. It is his homage to another great Texas blues man -Albert King.
Playing and singing his truth. It touches my heart.
Yes, his voice really shines on this one. Love your channel and reactions.

Excellent Song and I completely agree
With SRV I find that I don't need the scotch 🥃!!! 😂 🤣 😅 😱
I love Riviera Paradise but I also love his rendention of Little Wing. Even Jimi approved that one!!! 🥰
Stevie taught himself how to play the guitar so he never had a teacher trying to stifle his God given talent!!!
He plays a very heavy gauge string because he had very strong fingers and beat the shit out of them. You can often hear the strings screaming for mercy. Mercy!

He passed in a helicopte crash. No offense intended. Just fact checking.
Check out justin west we ain’t done with the night, he’s a good buddy of mine and he’s a independent country singer
I'm liking the new look. But, the other wasn't bad either.
