Hey bro, just wanted to let you know that TH-cam dropped a video of yours in my recommendations a few days ago. Since then I've watched a handful of your videos. I'm really enjoying your commentary.
My first car was a 1994 intrepid 😭😭😭 back in 2013-14 and it was a rusted up beater but Itll always have a soft spot in my heart since it was my first car
What made it worse than the Miata before it? I just picked one up since it's considerably cheaper than anything RWD in its class, and way cheaper than a sporty mini, I knew it was never gonna be a show stopper but it's a neat little ripper. Any lessons learned from the ownership process?
@@WeAreChecking sure, the main things that made it “worse” were definitely not reasons not to get an Abarth. I’d buy either car again in a heartbeat. The main things that made the Miata a better “sports car” were the lower center of gravity, better weight distribution, and RWD with limited slip differential. The car just handled better and could drift right out of the box. It also had a 6 speed manual with a shorter throw than the Abarth’s 5 speed. Also, the build quality of the interior was far superior with the Mazda. Both cars have roughly the same horsepower, but the Miata was naturally aspirated so you get more power at lower revs. Things that were better about the Abarth were firstly how crazy and awesome it looks and how amazing it sounds stock. A quick blowoff diverter mod was all you needed to make it go “psh!” too. Another big bonus to the Fiat is having a back seat and hatch. It was far more practical than the Miata. Things to watch out for with the Abarth is that they tend to burn a little oil between changes and dumb little stuff like door handles tend to break easily. I had no real mechanical issues with either vehicle though. Congrats on purchasing an Abarth and I hope you have as much fun with it as I did mine.
@@Muhluri I've had my Abarth for 8 years and the only thing that's gone wrong is the passenger seat folding handle broke. 168K miles and runs great. What issues did you find? Did you buy one?
@23:42 that Miata and whoever took the picture is lucky that car didn't fall off the lift. The front arm on the passenger side is kicked way off the lift point
I have the navigation option on my Alfa Romeo mito (basically a Fiat punto) and it has the tomtom instead of the garmin because it’s a bit older (2011) but he’s yes the tomtom does say Alfa Romeo on it when you start it 😂
I got a car recently (Nov 1st 2023) that had surprise APC Super Street seat belt pads. Makes me laugh cuz my 1st car was purchased in June 2002 (B12 Sentra sport-coupe) and came with the exact same belt pads lol. For being 20+ years old these cheap bastards look pretty dang good still haha
With the mileage of the volvo i'd just factor in another ~$2000 for a reman long block to replace the one in it and would probably want to do a gasket and seal refresh on the transmission. But like you said the person buying this probably aren't going to do this. Like if it was $2-3000 and was local i'd be looking at it since the body and interior look pretty good and just expecting to do a engine swap later on that would cost the price paid for the vehicle.
The Fiat has a way better engine than the beetle and it's a lot more fun and the interior is better and its cheaper to run and it looks better and it sounds better and the leather is way better quality
Lmaoooo my first car was a 1994 dodge intrepid she was my baby lol I paid 600 bucks for it back in 2013-14!! Chill on it a bit haha !!! 😂😂😂 mine was a piece of shidddd too

I know this is old but the wing on that Miata is made by Blackbird Fabworx and it’s actually kind of common on a lot of track builds.
Doesn't mean it looks good at all
I'm thankful for creative editing.
Fun fact the canned pumpkin pie isn't made from pumpkin it's squash

Curious if you would ever consider buying one again. Serious question.
I drove a Fiat Abarth for like 4 years. It was pretty awesome. Not better than the NC Miata I had before that, but comparable.

I'd buy an Abarth 500 if it wasn't a fiat. The amount of issues I found are ridiculous.@@LeDank

@@jc4657 no. I'm choosing to stock with my old car for now. I don't think it's the best time to be buying a car for me
