I use the neck pick up on my bass (Yamaha TRBX) along with treble, and mid frequencies and I turned up the Gain. But alas, I was close.
Before ever thinking of owning/playing a Rick, I had an Yamaha RBX4A2 and it was great just with some minor EQ. In fact, I watched your Roundabout video and I'd say you nailed it. You got a great Squire tone even on pizzicato, dude.
I can bet some people would say you were playing a Rick bass if they were on a blind audition or something.
Keep it up, because you got the hardest which is master the playing. Instrument, pedals are just a plus you can get at some point, trust me.

What was the complete set-up for this video?
Hi!
I used the Rickenbacker stereo output and routed the neck pickup straight into the audio interface, while the treble pickup first went to a Tech21 Sansamp Bass Driver DI and then to the interface.
The tremolo effect was added on Reaper, which is the DAW I use.
Still in Reaper, I use the EQ for cutting the mid-highs and beyond on the neck pickup and the opposite with the treble pickup, and then I merge them into a mono track

Olá Evandro! O principal (drive) é um Sansamp Bass Driver DI e os demais eu crio com a Zoom B3, porém, excepcionalmente neste vídeo eu resolvi usar o tremolo do Reaper.
Observação: dá pra simular um drive bem OK com a Zoom ou até com um plugin chamado TSE BOD.

Tech21 Sansamp Bass Driver DI as preamplifier.
The tremolo effect comes standard from Reaper, which is the DAW I use.
