In the days and weeks following the fall of the government in Kabul in August 2021, thousands of Afghans attempted to escape, some to neighbouring Iran and Pakistan to await visas to countries like Australia.
One of them was 19-year-old Hazara pop star Zahra Elham.
Zahra was the first woman to win Afghanistan's popular TV singing contest, Afghan Star.
She found a home in Melbourne where she is building a new life and restarting her music career.
