Thanks for sharing guys and putting the time in to help the hunting community whether people like it or not you’re sharing knowledge and to people making rude comments who cares if you don’t like this way of climbing and you should just keep those comments to yourself until you have actually tried or used this method and it’s a tool for the tool box
Guys safety first. You should always back up your climbing system especially a mechanical device with a friction hitch above your Madrock,Ask any Arborist and they will tell you that.If that device should slip or fail your going right to the ground.Lets all be as safe as we can.
All of this aider mess and ropes and pouches. You could just bring a climber seat and be up in 30 seconds. You already brought the platform which is heavier than the seat. Might as well bring the whole thing. Much easier
The system these men have is more efficient than many understand. They have a climbing device that can be cammed like any quality platform. There is no great way to stabilize a lone wolf seat. The aider gets them past the wider tree base which allows them to keep the same angle on the platform for a longer distance up the tree. I have use all parts of their method so I appreciate what they have invented.👍
@@tomzygmunt6891 I have climbed many different ways. My point is if you have any decent lightweight climber it is way more efficient and way faster than doing all of this. I dont see any advantages in this method at all. No matter what way i look at it, i can only find disadvantages
I’ve been climbing like this for years with my saddle, first with a lone wolf hand climber and now with a Barren Ridge saddle climber. Works great in the south where our trees are straight. I’d like to review and compare with the Barren Ridge.
Use a larks head knot to secure the tether to the tree to prevent the loop from falling down. I think some saddle hunters call it a constrictor/choker knot or something like that, but it's a larks head knot
Thanks for sharing. Definitely a great lightweight climber for them long walks in. I tried it a few times, after practicing in the off-season, but, I found out during the season that it just wasn't for me. I say that, yet, I did harvest out of it. I just felt like "I" wasn't being safe enough with it, while trying to be quiet and timely. That's just me. 8 guys in our club, 4 of us tree climb. I'm a traditional (summit) tree climber, another guy only use sticks and the other two guys use this method. All we talk about in the pre-season is being safe. Everyone of us hunters should make sure we are speaking that. People who have fallen from trees never thought it would happen to them. When we are heading up in the mornings and we see others at main store we stop at, the last thing we say as we part is good hunting and be safe. Don't get discouraged, keep sharing and growing. I like relatable guys videos. Just regular everyday guys sharing a lil something for the hunting community. Give us an update video, give us an "alternative" video. Give us something like: Do you carry a few screw-in hooks/steps, just in case you slip down and can't get back on the platform?? Do you carry GPS alert? I guess someone will say, "Get your own channel and share that stuff". LOL. I'm subscribing to you guys right now. I'll be quiet. 🤣
I love how saddle hunters will brag about how you can hunt “any tree” but every saddle hunting video on TH-cam is a tall straight limbless tree that looks like a telephone pole.
My suggestion - get rid of the step aider as it is not needed. Lastly, promote being connected to the rappel line from the ground up. How much is the cost and how can I get on the list?
Nice, I had the idea of converting a climber platform for essentially one sticking (which is what I prefer to do), but it looks like y'all beat me too it lol. I think your point about trusting your equipment is vital, you shouldn't hang in a tree in any method if you don't trust the system. If you are worried about it I would say two things, first practice until you are comfortable. Second, just use backups. The nice thing about saddle hunting is you are never not connected to the tree. It would take some real brain dead moves or total equipment failure to have a fall. The madrock in particular has no springs, the steel would have to break. I like your system, nice work!
Good stuff. I think you guys have a product that fills a gap currently in the market. I have been doing something similar with a couple of platforms. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavor.
One suggestion I would have is to figure out a way to make that fold flat. Its a great idea that I have personally been waiting for. It just needs a few improvements. Good luck fellow Hoosier!
We can make a video explaining why we don’t want it folding flat, we built one that folded flat and we just didn’t see an advantage with making it foldable. If after the video you guys are still wanting it flat we will offer that option.

The product is a great idea. If you could speak to the availability and expected price point, that would be very helpful. There is no mention of it on the website. I stumbled across this....now I want one...LOL!
I would love to do a review on one. With a bum knee this would be a great way to climb that would take pressure off my knees. Great product. Im sure if you go slower you could probably get up the tree quietly.
The aider makes your starting point higher, which has multiple advantages. The aider also helps get you back on your platform after locking it to the tree
Im not saying use both pieces. Im also a saddle hunter and i sometimes use just the bottom of my ol man platform with my saddle as the top@Pantherplatforms
Yea I get what you mean and I’m not trying to be rude in any way so please don’t take it that way, I’m just saying we used the bottom part of a two piece climber, also tried using the top part like a lot of people do. Honestly that way really sucks compared to the Quick Climber.
Will your company be able to keep up with demand for the product? I have personally seen small saddle hunting companies take money then bail out without filling orders. This is my chief concern🤔
I did the LW climber for almost 20 years. I’ve been one sticking for the past 3 seasons carrying a platform and a stick. I’m ready for the next step. Keep us posted.
Lucky it was your backpack and not you seems to be a lot of busy work going on. I could be at the same height with a good climber, a summit or an API from ground to 20 feet and set up in 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. no doubt you will sell some, hunters are always experimenting with new methods
Thanks for the comment!!! Spurs are by far the quickest way to climb a tree. This platform was designed for public land hunting, which we don’t have access to private ground. Our platform is lighter, faster, and safer than a traditional two piece climber or sticks. Climbing spurs are illegal in most states and unless you’re in great shape, they take some time to master
I don’t understand why there’s a need to repel down. Why not just use the climber the climb back down the tree. I’m a little confused why all that unnecessary steps are needed to repel off the climber, for what reason?
Why use the Aider at all. Just hook the platform on the tree at mid thigh level and step up on it. Then attached the repel rope to the tree as high as you can reach and start climbing away. No need for the Aider.

Good luck, but I'll pass. Rather just use hand climber then bunch o rope n no need for ladder. It actually looks more physical then platform n hand climber
