@@sirseor I think that's only true when you consider perfect micro. If you forget to control your cavalry only very briefly, they are blown out of the water by infantry's cost efficiency. If you had 100% perfect micro every on the field, a pure ranged army would always win. In reality, how much attention you need to dedicate plays in to power levels - i.e. goths can spam infantry into multiple locations, and come out on top in some of the engagements because the opponent can't micro everywhere all at once.

With the threat of running out of trees 🚫🌲 being a thing on quite a lot of maps, it might be important for players to remember they can use Onagers or Trebuchets to destroy trees. Especially Onagers as the Mangonel line is useful versus units as well.
That must of been such a mental blow for Gregory to lose such a long game, especially since it looked like he was going to treb push ftw several times. Amazing endurance by both players but to not resign took a lot of confidence and grit. Amazing game!
I‘m glad that I watched AoE 2 enough to be able to appreciate games such as (you’ll know it when you see it). It’s all hanging on a knife‘s edge and one wrong positioning decision can easily snowball out of control. Respect to these players!

I dont understand people saying this was a close set. Gajah dominated. Game 1, 3 and 4 Gregory had no chance. And game 2 it was only because of goth spam. Greg is probably a qualifier and Gajah is Tatoh or Hera.

Gregory played well though. Except for his draft, which was dubious.
He just did not do enough beyond good though, compared to Gaja Mada.
