Nice one. There is also a theory that this song is a reflection of the confusion a lot of people experience when they first see BABYMETAL - "Is it this? Is it that? Is it something else? It doesn't make sense, it is too different!" They will mix and blend so many genres and musical styles with the metal - in this case they've thrown Ska into the mixer. Legend MM was 2nd and 3rd March 2024 celebrating "new" member Momometal's 21st birthday. Su-metal was 26 (she will be 27 in December), Moametal was 24 (she is now 25, her birthday is in July).
A big part of the lyrics is how you can't spot the differences, if it's about them, it might be the western view of Yuimetal and Moametal. "are they twins ?" 🙂
Thanks for doing my suggestion and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Yava! is my personal number one Babymetal song, which is why I suggested it. I was lucky enough to be there in crowd at Legend MM in March this year to see it live in person for the first time. I'd been waiting years to get to see it live because they don't perform it very much anymore, so I was beside myself when it started and it absolutely lived up to my sky high expectations. I was down in the pit right in front of Momometal, so I got an incredible view of the performance. The crowd was unbelievably loud at Legend MM as everyone was there to celebrate Momometal's 21st birthday, so the crowd was in full voice. Apart from being my favourite song, Yava! is also my favourite choreo of theirs, it's so cute and expressive. There are several theories about the meaning of the lyrics, but as is the case with almost all Babymetal songs, they don't ever really explain what the song is about; they prefer to let the listener infer their own meaning. I tend to think the song is about nonconformity and being yourself even if other people think it's strange. My own theory is that it's possibly a commentary on the reaction the metal community had to Babymetal when they burst on the scene and blew everyone's preconceptions of what metal should be out the window, and this is Babymetal's way of saying "We are metal and we are different and that's okay!"
Nice reaction! And a nice choice of the performance! Thx to Icipher! "Yava!" wasn´t performed for quite a long time before this (I can´t remember the last performance... was it at "BABYMETAL AWAKENS -THE SUN ALSO RISES"?). It was a big surprise for the audience, and BM fans in general (myself included). The whole "Legend MM" concert was a full package. It was a very special concert btw., as it was Momometal´s birthday celebration concert 😉 She turned 21 the day this performance happened. She is the one on the left side. Right side is Moametal (almost 25 at that point in time), and middle is Su-Metal (26 years old in this performance. She will celebrate her 27th birthday in December). As you liked the Kami Band solo, how about reacting to - Metali ! (Legend MM 2024 Live) Eng Subs ? It features Tom Morello 😉 It has a short Kami Band intro, too, and the song is absolutely fire! As is the crowd. And you´ll love the ladies even more😄
'Yava!' was performed five times before this show and after THE SUN ALSO RISES. Twice at LEGEND M, at Summer Sonic Osaka and Summer Sonic Tokyo, and at one of the LEGEND - METAL GALAXY concerts in late January of 2020. You're right about there being a long pause though. It wasn't performed at all in 2021, 2022 or 2023. Of course BABYMETAL were on a hiatus in 2022.
Not combat boots - Doc Martens. They provide flexibility yet still grip to keep them from slipping and provide support for their feet. The Warning also wear Doc Martens in concert.
Few reactors noticed their boots. But boots are very important to them. And I'm glad they don't have to wear heels so it reduces their chance of ankle injuries. Thanks for your great reaction.
⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🤔 Great reaction! Definitely one of my favorites off of 'Metal Resistance', the second BABYMETAL album. The official lyric is "ヤバッ!" (Yaba!), which is a clipped form of "yabai". Originally, "yabai" meant "dangerous", but in this song and popular usage, it is also used as an exclamation. "Oh no!" is a pretty good equivalent in English. Even with a translation it's hard to know exactly what this song is about. As Du-Metal says on his translation page, "The meaning of the lyrics is vague, obscure & ambiguous." Even so, this Ska + Metal + JPop combination sounds great to me.
Yava is one of my absolute favorites. This is a good performance. Still think the original one when they were small is more fun. There is a version called "kami band intro - LIVE PROSHOT".
great reaction, love that you spotted all the different things, even the Doc Martens . I love the expressions they make as well they just seem to go with the courography . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Do you know my theory why they ended up with those ? In the early shows, Moametal always went hard and kept breaking shoes. Of course Moametal isn't small, but her feet had a small size anyway 🙂 And she was wearing kids shoes and they just couldn't handle it.
@autohmae yes I noticed that . if you look at early footage, they are all wearing school type shoes and socks . Yui and Moa got boots, and Su got zip-up boots, no laces to tie 🤣🤘🏼🦊
Awesome reaction! I always think of this song as a cute middle finger to those early elitists who couldn’t accept Babymetal because “they are different” and didn’t know how to act 😂. YAVA! (Oh No!) 🤘🦊

This should be part of the setlist at the World Tour, just love it.🦊🤘❤
That first guitar solo reminded me a bit of Mikio's guitar solo just now, RIP.
If it was on purpose, thanks man.

If they can dance like that in heels it will blow my mind 🤯😂.
That will not be humanly possible lol.

@@r1learner178 I know, but I meant the heals that you may see a lot of pop acts wear.
