I really love your tutoring style. Easy to follow, even the most difficult things. I just turned 73 in July and I’m told I look at least 10 years younger (aren’t they sweet?). I’m afraid that since the beginning of the lockdown, I’ve stopped taking care of my face and hair. I’m in an assisted living facility and we weren’t allowed out of our apartments for anything. It didn’t take long for the neglect to begin to show. My face is very dry, I’ve actually forgotten how to put face and eye makeup on. Would it be possible for you to refresh my memory with perhaps a 2 or 3 part tutorial for my face, hair and whatever else you can think of. My hair is medium reddish brown almost down to my waist or a little more. My skin is very dry and fair. I have never plucked my eyebrows except to shape them. Any other info you may need please let me know. Thank you so much.
Hey Barbara I don’t know much about makeup and I don’t use it often. It’s always best to take good care of your skin. In the morning use a facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer/day cream, and sunscreen! At night use a cleanser, toner, spot treatments (if you need to), serum, eye cream, and moisturizer/night cream/face oil. In my opinion all your really need is cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Applying Face Makeup: I call it the base. It’s important to have a good base so your complexion looks more even. I think it also helps layer on other products better. 1) wash face and hydrate your skin 2) add primer 3) apply foundation (make sure to blend down to your neck and towards your ears) 4) concealer under your eyes and whatever blemished you want to cover 5) translucent setting powder or setting spray (for setting spray i use the on from Urban Decay) Bronzer and blush can be considered as extra stuff. But i like using blush to add back some color to my face because in my opinion i look “sick”. Eye Makeup: All I use is mascara or false eyelashes. I don’t use eyeshadow.

My twin sister is also an eyelash technician and she used LashBase before they even sold strip lashes, but when they decided to delve into the realms of the beauty consumer industry I was SO happy as their strip lashes are made to mimic that of lash extensions. I’m not sure where you’re based but LashBase are a UK company and have just launched in the US too, so if you’re looking to try some new glues etc, you can shop their professional site too.

I have sparse eyebrows so I first shade it in lightly with dark brown eyeshadow then I lightly brush my mascara (taking most of the ink off) over it to form the hairs. It's easy and works for me.
Finally a tutorial on natural looking eyebrows! So sick of gel painted brows!! Those look good on camera and from far away and the majority of us searching a tutorial like this have to deal with people daily and they get pretty close to us,they can see the painted brows and they're not pretty,as perfect as you can get them, you can see they're artificial. This is the one for me! Thank you!
I agree, I saw someone on Friday who brushed them all up and had to paint the ends in. I understand they want to follow trends but up close it’s just not that nice as it doesn’t look real. I’m all for the hair-stroke finish 😊

The Nyx ones are great! as thin as Glossier and the colour range is great- the grey-black is the best cool tone I’ve tried
