Really glad to see this on TH-cam, and to see other folks loving it too! Found this on SoulSeek as a teen and always have thought this was one of the best things Walter's ever done. The version of "Requiem" here has a magic that neither the Quicksand or Rival Schools version was able to capture. Whoever played drums on these has such a lively, bouncey feel - for me, that's where a lot of the magic comes from that allows the performances to feel lighter on their feet. Anyway, fuckin love this, hell yeah thanks for putting it up
I've been listening to this album for a long time. I love the lo-fi feel of the songs and the fact that this was a pre-cursor to what would become Rival Schools. Some of the tracks that didn't make it onto the first Rival Schools album (Requiem and Turning) is a mystery to me. Turning Around in Your Head is an especially amazing song that I keep coming back to. Thanks for the upload.
so good
Dude have heard almost everything you have uploaded. Used to have it all. But this. I have never even heard of this. Thank you!
This needs a official release ASAP
Hey man I hope you see this in here do you know if they ever ended up ever re working/re making the song “do we ever change” ?
@@iwaitforher Not that I'm aware of 🤔
It's funny to think that Walter had songs like Used For Glue, Everything Has Its Point, Requiem and Eyes Wide Open locked and loaded for so long.
That version of Used For Glue is amazing (The Sound That Can't Be Still), glad they changed the title of it.
I also love how the guitars sound for Requiem (Where Have You Been?)
Word Matías Thanks for the upload
I have these mp3s in pretty rough quality but these sound a lot better. I have a handful of extras after "Turning Around in Your Head". I have "Laying it Down", "We Will Ever be the Same", "Heartache", and "Taking Control". They sound more like practice tape recordings. Unsure of where they were sourced from.
Same here. Great stuff, though.
Hey man any chance you could upload those mp3s? I haven’t heard those, would love to hear it.
Could you upload the extras?
@@kyokari4 if you can get me your email I’ll send them.

this sounds amazing
I’ve had a CD of these demos since about ‘02 or ‘03? I always kind of prefer this material to the majority of Rival Schools output. It’s moodier and as mentioned already that Lofi aspect is really attractive. I asked Walter about it in 05 or so in Baltimore before a Gorilla Biscuits reunion show at the Ottobar. I think he said he had tired of the songs by and large.
Me encanta Quicksand y rival schools pero esto es una joya.
Where have you been
Could you release the songs in separate tracks like where have you been
:)
no wayyyy mr freeman ?!?!?
