whoa it has been quite some time since I last played this game so I hope that my memory serves me right :D but if I am not mistaken you and your AI partner both need to have full basara meter and then you must first press the buton for switching the characters and during that there will be a short moment during which your basara metters will flash red and it is that very moment when you must push the circle :)
