What I love about Jesus Culture and specifically Kim Walker-Smith is the invitation to worship Jesus during their songs. It is such a lost part in a lot of our Worship Services these days in the mass amount of content flooding our Twitter feeds etc. Self improvement to the glory of God is biblical and practical application of biblical trues is an awesome way to live. But sometimes in the midst of doing those things, we can tend to get legalistic and repetitive with no real affection for our Lord. I’ve been listening to Kim since I gave my life to Christ in 2009 and even though my Theology differs from the churches she comes from, I can say without a shout of a doubt that Kim Walker-Smith’s ministry always leaves me yearning for a deeper encounter with Jesus on a day to day basis. It’s the mentality expressed in this song that consistently reinvigorated me throughout my early college years. I’m now almost 32 and it’s still pushing me to seek a deeper encounter with Jesus.
