I have been aware of my surroundings since I was like 8 but since I’m aware I will always attempt to make the best decisions I can and I am very convinced that I will not turn into a sociopath, thank you for your time and have a great day 😊
I’m a 45 year old woman. Retinol 2x a day would wreck my skin because of how drying it is. They’re going to age even faster once they stop overproducing oil.
I was one of these kids. I used retinol and I got chemical peels trying to get rid of my acne. I’m in college now and my skin is wrecked. My skin reacts to anything new and sometimes even to nothing at all. I can’t even use products to try to repair my skin barrier because the most gentle products still give me painful blisters.
That kid saying we're scared of 10yos in sephora.. we're not scared we're confused and concerned 💀 Our childhood consisted of play makeup sets and barbie dolls.
Also, our parents didn’t allow us to open adult products and make a mess, whether they were samples or not! Actually my mom warned me not to use cosmetic samples bc I could catch something from the previous user!
Honestly, we're confused and concerned about the kids conduct and disrespect of the products as well as other customers. And the fact the parents aren't there to watch it happen.
@@alexb389 that may be the case with some people, but in my opinion if you’re parents aren’t doing anything to help with their body dysmorphia and instead enabling it and letting you succumb to peer pressure then they aren’t responsible parents at all. It’s how I feel with the whole 10 year olds at Sephora thing - they have the ability to say no and set a more healthy example for their kids but no…
My momma would slap me so hard if I even decide to pick up sum for 40yr olds😭 I tried to take some of her cream and tht was one of the worst whooping in my life😭
My media consumption at age 11 is all about warplanes and warplanes are cool. As still a kid myself, kids these days have the degrading content shine through. Anything destructive about watching a rant about the German bombers pales in comparison to whatever has my attention brought to here. Edit: My shortest rant on the internet lmao
As someone raised by the internet and still primarily on it (in the 16-20 range) i am a goofy nerd, not a Sephora kid. So are a majority of the two newest generations. We gave up on the ‘preppy’ or skincare obsessed kids a while ago
I'm 16 and I already have permanent laugh lines. It's because I'm a happy person and I smile and laugh a lot. I think wrinkles are actually gorgeous - I love my laugh lines, because it means I've been so happy that it's permanently etched on my face, and even when I'm not happy they're a reminder of all the times I have been!
I'm 13 and I have smiles that just chill on my face. I think having smile lines or laugh lines make someone look better because it shows they're happy. The other kids in my generation honestly scare me with their routines and how serious they are. Like, we're in middle school, you don't have to act like a sophomore.
Yeah, you’re right. I think it’s called “Dorian Gray Syndrome”, or something like that. I actually read the book that the condition’s name is based off of. (The Picture of Dorian Gray), and it’s actually the best book I’ve ever read that dives into the concept and horrors of trying to prevent aging or ugliness. It’s not an official diagnosis, but I do think that it needs to be brought up more in psychology. It’s becoming a problem
I wouldn’t trust any of the therapists of today though. They don’t know how to do their job anymore. It’s all about affirming what the child thinks at the time. They’d probably tell the parents it’s just fine for the child to use the products bc they feel they’re older! It’ll be known as “age affirming care!”
@@alim.9801 Where have you been? The moon?? Do you see what’s happening in Canada?? In California schools?? In Indiana a couple lost custody of their daughter because they wouldn’t use her pronouns and refer to her as their son! She was sent to live with a trans affirming family! The courts deemed they were not abusing her… but they still haven’t gotten her back yet! Therapists all over HAVE to affirm their patients delusions otherwise lose their jobs!! It’s literally all over the news and internet.
@@somethingawesome1462my dermatologist had me on BOTH prescription retinol and benzoyl peroxide at age 11. No face washing routine, no moisturizer, no sun protection. Got the worst sun burn on my face in the winter time and all my skin blistered and peeled off. I didn’t know better and my parents didn’t advocate for me, just told me to follow what the doctor said.
Her skin didn't even have a bump. Most people with real acne and clear skin at least have a little bit of a bump or dark spot or whatever. Girl never had a pimple in her life 💀
yeah, twice a day retinol is terrible. that would easily cause prolonged inflammation to the skin, which accelerates aging. you’d have to have a skin barrier of steel to get away with that. also, retinoids make skin more photosensitive and increase the risk of sun damage + potentially cancerous lesions if you’re wearing them out during the day.
The real problem is that these kids are on social media before they can even grasp the concept of identity and securing it. Body and face lotion should be enough for kids but once puberty starts or they're old enough to wear makeup, skincare might naturally also interest them.
Building good habits at a nearly age is a positive thing but the routine should only be wash moisturizer sunscreen (WMS). I let my girls get those and the face masks bc who doesn’t love a good mask. But it comes with the lesson that those are fun but not necessary and the extra crap I put on my face is to address issues I have with my skin. I have discoloration so I use a serum and I have wrinkles so I use retinol. We have a reason and purpose for every product or we don’t need the product. If my daughter had acne she’d include appropriate care for that. But we’re talking cereve and ceraphil not snail mucus and caviar facials.
@@JaneQPublicthey are not building good habits, if that was the case it would say staying healthy instead of not aging and would have basic products meant for kids. And would included stuff that useful exercises and promoting veggies, proteins, healthy fats, grains. Instead they’re just trying to make your kids insecure overconsumers
@@JaneQPublicIt is kind of like a more extreme version of what some kids were doing in the early 2000s with nails. I am 30 now, when I was in early elementary school in the early 2000s we liked to paint nails as an occasional fun thing, but there was always a girl or two whose mother would take them to get expensive, professional manicures. It was especially ridiculous because I went to catholic school and anything other than natural looking nail and hair color was not allowed, so they either had to have them look natural, or take everything off after a few days before school. Yet, there were always a couple of parents that allowed their children to get them done anyway.
There are stores in Sweden with 18+ on skincare (started last week) due to stuff like this potentially harming kids more than helping them. It started after a 14yo girl got trampled outside of a beauty store after people had slept outside the store before opening day since the first 50 costumers would get some free products. It was mostly 12-15yo. There are also some brands who will refuse to sell to retailers who won't implement the age restrictions. So if someone wants to get products to these stores and they're under 18 they have to have a prescription or a parent with them, so far it's one of the biggest chemists/apothecaries who have began doing it., but the debate is very much ongoing
I'm going to raise my kids in the dark ages of technology until they're older. These new kids are crazy. The attitude on that little sephora girl made my blood pressure SPIKE
Oh my god that’s so sad. Children should not have such free access to the internet, this is doing so much harm to them. We truly live in the worst timeline.
When I was 19 (2 years ago) I went to Liberia on a mission trip. There I learned that the Liberians like to look older. I was told that the Liberian director was really excited to show the American director that his hair was greying. The reason they want to look older is cause most of them won't make it to the age where they will see their hair turn grey. So being able to get to an old age is a proud accomplishment one that they proudly show to everyone. It brought me a new perspective on life. I've learned that I have things pretty good and that whenever I die, I won't be doing so while worrying about when I will die or what I look like as I age.
@@subuhhiii I like to think "nowdays in our continent we are expected to live 100 years, at 20 and even 30, we are still young" Years ago, a lot of years ago, you lived until 30. @yourlocalrobloxaddict9932 as someone who had pretty bad acne as a teen, you should def ask your parents to take you to the dermatologist. I started using tretinoin at 17 because I had some pretty bad skin, but that's only because a doctor prescribed it. It helped, but it isn't for everyone and should not be used by anyone that age unless its for severe acne. I hope this helps!
Okay no, there is a long history of people including kids doing stupid shit in the name of beauty. At least this stuff is lead free. You aren't seeing an accurate sample size of 12 year olds in this video, and you should feel dumb for thinking that you are.
@@know916boundThat’s because the average age of death was 30. Our 80 is their 30. So it’s like getting married at twenty. The issue now is that 10 year olds are worrying about their looks, which is so ridiculous. They can’t just be kids and make mistakes. They are now aging way faster.
@@frogg523 marrying off kids has gone away maybe by the 1940s or 50s for the most part. Life expectancy was atleast 50 for the whole globe by the 1900s. But old habits die hard. And let alone the lack of most human rights and many people being an option for property to someone of higher status. Amongst many diseases running rampant and hookers being openly banged in allies without penalty. Yeah things were so much better back then 😂. More like they were less talked about, which is why old people are all mad they can't get away with the shit they used to without being recorded.
I am a 11 year old for a kid and I don’t care if people talk to me about skin care is not good for kids. It’s OK for me because I’m not using bad products.
Mommy and/or daddy need the internet to raise them because they themselves are self-centered. It is the parents' job to keep the child's Internet use under wrap, not the government nor some mega company that only cares to collect data for profit.
The parents are awful for feeding these kids obsessions with aging and beauty. They also are raising their kids to be ego maniacs. It’s sad. I fear for the future.
People are way too obsessed with their outward appearance that they're not even bothering to better themselves as people on the inside. All they're doing is feeding insecurities that'll fuck up these kids forever.
You need to remember that this is a very small percentage of children most kids that age are vibing and acting like normal kids. It can be worrying seeing all this stuff but it's important to stay hopeful the future doesn't have to be fucked.
What's wild is it doesn't stop the process. I feel they age you quicker causing you to notice and purchase more and more damaging products in the hopes it will stop the slow march
I’m 20 and I have wrinkles already from my deep set eyes, lack of sleep, and a few stressful years. I’m super pale & blonde so they stick out even more and I don’t really care. Aging can suck but it’s inevitable and I hate that everyone is so invested in anti aging
The fear of developing wrinkles basically strips you from enjoying basic activities day to day. I realized this when I told my bf that I couldn’t use the cute water bottle he got me because it has a straw and I would get wrinkles from it. He told me how ridiculous that is and that I should just live my life and appreciate the wrinkles when they come. He was absolutely right.
that's amazing. When a person can make you realize how valuable and beautiful life could be without always worrying about things that are inevitable, you start to enjoy life ❤
@@purrrrrrrpleSoo true! Wrinkles are so cute, all ages are awesome and necessary for us to live a full life haha. Idk how the parents aren’t teaching the children these simple lessons to make them more resilient and instead are letting the marketing and media twist their minds. Even my scars from my acne I can appreciate, I say they make me look “earthy.” It’s all about perspective, but also realizing the person judging them the most is themselves, most other people would not think twice about some signs of aging on another person. In fact we should be able to find beauty in each other and if we treat ourselves right, us too.
I learned about laugh and smile lines in books, how they’re a sign of a happy life, that you smiled and laughed a lot. I began to look for them, honestly. I hope they become seen as a good trait again.
To be honest, this is the parents' fault. No one this young gets so worried about aging or even knows which products to buy unless they've been chronically exposed to content not meant for their age. I bet most of these kids have been raised by social media and influencers, and this is the result.
@@PopChanxTHANK YOU!!! These kids don’t know any better. They’re given electronics way to early then get these bubble and drunk elephant videos saying to mix stuff up and do all this stupid stuff that just won’t help them in the long run.
Idk why at 33 can I not afford the tiniest apartment on a fulltime job? The answer is inflation and it effects children who are subconsciously FREAKED about the future economic hardships that they don't want to get old and be rendered obsolete by society unable to make money by streaming because they don't look pretty enough. Remember when was the last time you saw a streamer on YT that looked older than 25 ?
I have to say I’m gen z and I’ve never used retinol or anti aging products. I do use skin care because I’m 16 yrs old and breakouts are normal but I already have smile lines. And god am I lucky to. I’ve laughed smiled and been happy enough times that now there is a permanent mark on my face. Idk why we try to hide them. A lot of people are not lucky enough to get to see themselves get old so it’s really a privilege.
She looks like a teenager to me. I always see comments like this, about how young people look so 'old' now, but girl looks and sounds like a baby still lol. Just dressing up and acting older. It's sad.
No?? She looks her age, she just doesn’t have the typical “awkward” look most people have at that age because they’re changing so rapidly, which tricks our brains into thinking she looks older.
At 12 I was playing w dolls and watching cartoons, but also writing violent edgy stories. Bc it's a transitional period! Kids who are jumping from toddler to 25 confuse me.
I’m 27 and I remember having these insecurities at that age but I would have been stopped if I tried anything anti aging. I remember being fourteen and my friends sixteen year old sister trying to use anti aging products. The kids see the same ads the adults do, if they’re inundated with “here’s how I prevent wrinkles” that’s how they’ll feel they’re meant to be proactive and know how to stop aging. This is so tied to insecure over consumption “wellness culture” and now it’s not commercials and billboards but young twenty year olds with red light therapy masks talking about living their “best life” and the 30 products that make them “that girl” which is SO much more compelling than a forty year old super model I didn’t know yet trying to talk to my mom on television. I think the best response is talking about the beauty of aging on social media. We’re not blaming these kids for being insecure, we’re responding to them being MEAN which is ALSO their parents fault, but we have to step in and tell these children they cannot be so entitled. It’s not about humbling yourself, these kids have no conception of life at all yet, they’re just trying to live like their favorite influence who looks like they have it together, because that’s their role model. So I really think this is women in their 20s/30s problem too because who is teaching them to be like this? Young adults who *also* don’t know what’s going on yet that look like the ideal adult because they’re in the age where their face is considered “perfect skin” balanced features, ni acne, no wrinkles, no significant life experiences. I always wonder if those people know that who they are influencing is not just their peers but young girls with TikTok.
As a 14 yo these people are CRAZY for doing this kinda stuff i use a cleanser and a moisturizer, which is what my my mom used at my age. Its a children's skincare brand btw. Edit:when I say children's skincare I consider my self a child because I'm not 15 yet, the brand is for 13-14yo
they're not crazy, that's a crude term. They're just fearful of aging which is very understandable in many societies but we can help them by accepting them and teaching them how to regulate their routine carefully
@@gabbyisyogirl69 from what I understand, they’re destroying the stores. If that’s true, they should definitely have the adults only policy, or always having an accompanying adult. It was in response to the little one saying “why are you afraid of us”
I agree if the child is under 14 or 15, because when they’re 16 then they’ll probably be mature enough to NOT destroy every single thing they see. A lot of young people enjoy experimenting with makeup when they’re younger, so completely shutting them out of popular makeup stores like Sephora isn’t the greatest way to go. But I respect what you think.
@@ATrixsterr which middle school girl have you ever seen destroying thing in a make-up store? At 11 years old you're absolutely not a troublemaker child anymore, in middle school they want you to be responsible and act as an adult, and so kids do. But I'd say you understand enough how world works and don't make to much troubles anymore even at 9 or 10, at that age you're old enough to help parents with shopping, it's not that kids don't have brains
Exactly kids shouldnt be using retinol vitamin c glycopic acid etc,its obviously not good for their skin and damages it,either way since they r just kids theyre skin is practically perfect so spending so much money on things they dont need for them and ruining testers in shops Is so wrong, but sometimes we cant blame them as most likely they are getting influenced by someone else or smthn, and they have full on routines while mine is just a face wash, cera ve and lip balm
Now combine this "trend" being pushed on kids by big tech with the epstien and child trafficking issues and you know why it's a trend. Nobody cares as much about 18 year Olds who look 12 being trafficked as they do 12 year Olds being trafficked.
I'm 27, people are always mistaking me for 20-22 and the only thing I use in my face is moisturizers, and I've only begun doing that a few months ago. Just, use sunscreen people, that's all you need to do to not look older than you are! In fact people will think you look younger.
Lets not forget the blatent consumerism. When i was ten, it was hilarious to put elmers glue on you and peel it off when it dried..😂 Coming from someone whos +40, its not a terrible thing to age. Just protect your skin from the sun and moisturize frequently.
Fr, as someone who is part of gen z (closer to gen alpha than a millennial) it's training the next generation to buy, buy, buy, instead of reading the fine print.
I'm 30, so a younger millennial. I see signs of aging now, even though I still look younger for people. I am a bit afraid of how I will look, also there's body dysmorphia included. Oh, and a contrast because I still have visible acne, so it makes my brain lagging sometimes. I can't get used to it yet, I have to remind myself I'm not a teenager anymore (since I still don't feel like an adult). But maybe people will treat me a bit more serious, since most of people treat me like an unexperienced teenager or young adult and think I know nothing about lifem

Same here. My mum is 49 and she told me before she wanted botox because she was wrinkling. Probably sounds stupid but it made me cry because I learnt that my mum was actually quite self-conscious and believed these wrinkles made her ugly. I think she's beautiful and I will always love my mum, I don't want to think that she hates the way she looks. The funny thing is that she doesn't look 49 at all and people are often surprised to find out she's that age, many think she is early 40s but I was so worried that she would become obsessed with worrying about her appearance instead of just enjoying life as her mum did the same thing too. I cried and told her I didn't want her to end up like my grandma hating herself and being hyper-critical of everyone and my mum said "so you don't want me to take care of myself?" and I just cried so freaking hard because she couldn't see herself the way that I and everyone else sees her. She did say sorry and said that she got defensive about it and tried to say things to hurt me instead of addressing the issue. She doesn't want botox now and doesn't stress so much over her appearance nowadays which makes me feel better because she deserves happiness and not a constant gnawing feeling of being ugly or not good enough. She looks after her skin which is good and thats fine but the unhealthy obsession with pristine skin is an unreachable ideal deliberately created to make women insecure and thus spend money on these ridiculous procedures that they dont need.
Because you have multi billion dollar companies pushing that it is, and absolutely no regulation in place to actually prevent advertising from reaching kids. And odds are you couldn't legislate your way out of it unless you make the entire snake oil beauty industry illegal. Welcome to capitalism. You wanted this!
Because the parents themselves are insecure about that specific thing and don’t have the tools to think about it and cover it differently to their kids. Say it our loud or not, kids understand the philosophy you have around things.
eactly, i dont get how they love all these expensive skincare stuff. a face wash, an oil cleanser and aloe vera is already enough for me. plus cute stationary is better, you get to make adorable diy things, keep a collection of them and maybe even sell them and earn some money for yourself! better to increase the creativity in your brain than wasting time damaging your skin.

laugh lines and wrinkles are beautiful to me. They show experiences, laugh lines show you’ve been happy and lived your life to the fullest. Wrinkles are a physical manifestation of the wisdom that comes with age.
You are so right when I was 10 -14 the only type of makeup I ever knew was lip gloss. But that doesn’t mean to not take care of how you look, just wait until you are old enough to

You will age but your skin will look better and be healthier if you care for it. My aunt is almost 50 and she has no wrinkles, smile lines, or acne. Some people forget that beauty products (or any skin care products )have chemicals that are not supposed to be on 12 year olds and definitely not 10.And the moms that allow this are harming their children more by letting these kids expose their skin to these harsh chemicals because they saw a beauty influencer use it.Kids should not be thinking about aging and should be enjoying their life since they are at the start of their life. And yes some skin care products are friendly for kids skin but I don’t think kids need these expensive skin products to take care of their skin. There are more simpler ways that can be as effective as these skin products!
12 year old here👋 raised by a boomer and gen x, my siblings are in their 20s, etc. i’ve been a tomboy since basically six, began refusing dresses, skirts and pink by age 2. now as I begin to see people around my age 9-13 using skin care products and make up I have felt left out as I still haven’t left my fart putty phase, my Nerf guns and adventuring swamps. I’m not saying I want to be a part of make up and skin care kids, i’m saying I feel left out as there’s nobody who likes what I like other than my main friend I’ve had for seven years Who is a year younger than me and a dude.
Also, as a boy, when I was 9-13 years of age, I was "expected" to like and play soccer. But I hated soccer, so I mostly hung out with the girls, my one friend (male) or by myself. Though I was seen as "weird" or "a loner" by some, that was still better than forcing myself to like/play soccer.
Genuinely, don't worry about making a bunch of friends. As someone who did try that being in a friend group where you have to act a certain way or be shamed takes a major toll on your mental health and isn't even remotely worth it. Just keep being yourself, you'll need it during your teenage years
i was in sephora getting a few skin care things, i get some serum and moisturiser! i pass the retinol and i say to my mum “those kids buying retinol are crazy for their age!” bare in mind i am 12! she said “You can get it to mess around but don’t like use it on a daily basis.” i simply say i’m okay and started looking around! i’m not saying my mum is bad but the sephora kids mums are the ones creating the urge to get retinol when they are 10? like it’s not the kids fault it’s the mums influencing their children and telling them “if you use this you won’t get wrinkles” and i don’t know the age to start using retinol but i bet it’s like 30-40+? like 10 YEAR OLDS are using that meant for wrinkles that they don’t develop until they are 35-45? so don’t go blame the kids, blame the mum.
When I’m older and I have smile lines I’m going to love them because they’re a reminder of all the good times. If these kids spend their whole lives focused on the how they look in the future they’re gonna forget about how they feel today.
I started using a skincare routine in my mid 19s and now I am 20. Also, I don't use makeup other than Lip balm, Eyeliner and BB+ cream with sunscreen. these kids have no childhood ATP.
I’m 13 and I do take care of my skin because I have naturally really red skin and I have eczema so my skin is bad and I do like helping it I think taking care of yourself is important so washing your face and putting moisturizer on it and like maybe a serum or two I don’t really have a problem with but seeing a 14-year-old a person who is the same age as me taking pills and extreme measures to have perfect skin and everything is almost sad, because not aging is a very obvious insecure and I feel for everyone who has this insecurity and if you do have it and you’re reading this, I want you to know that you are beautiful no matter how you look and I love you
I think that kids need to calm down and enjoy their childhood while it lasts. And adults need to stop giving their children these harsh products to put on their face. When I was their age, I didn’t even know what skincare was!
When I was in their age, I ask one of my aunt should I have moisturizer for my face, because every beauty guru at that time stated "moisturizer is so important", she said no and explained my skin was still young, it can moisture itself just fine, shouldn't interrupt its function, and my skin was beautiful. Thanks aunt ❤
The thing about Botox is….its stretches your skin as you get the Botox injection it’s gotta go somewhere and then as it settles into your skin you feel like you need to get more cause your skin isn’t stretched with new Botox it’s a never ending cycle. Also look up MRI scan of Botox in the face…you’ll think again about it. the Botox moves around as well in your face especially if you just keep getting it done. It does not and will not absorb into your skin or system it is in your face forever unless you also get it professionally dissolved
I think you’re talking about filler, which is hyaluronic acid and not Botox 😅 botulinum toxin is a muscle relaxant, it doesn’t fill or stretch the skin, it just stops your muscles from moving and therefore no new wrinkles can appear Inform yourself before commenting it, talking like you know it 😂
I'm 32 (male) all I've ever used is daily facial cleanser and moisturizer. I have zero wrinkles and people think I'm around 25. When they find out I'm 32 they are shocked. Most of it just comes down to genetics, all you need is a facial cleanser and moisturizer.
Genetics play the biggest role by far! Then sun exposure, lifestyle diet and excercise etc THEN things like skincare routine comes in to play quite far down the list People seem to think they can retinol away their genetics though or that skincare can win over a terrible diet and lifestyle. Not gunna happen 🤷♀️
genetics, good diet, lots of water, no smoking, and sunscreen. All these help you age beautifully. I wish healthy lifestyles were more promoted for these kids instead of caked-on makeup
I am in similar age and I pass 10 years younger with heavy make up on, I got 19 as the lowest age guess. In my case it's not using facial expressions too much, so I never developed wrinkles. I don't even need to use much of a moisturizer on my face as my face is still very oily for my age. 😆
This really breaks my heart They’re slowly becoming mini adults. They won’t be able to look back on their childhood and go “wow I had so much fun at summer camp.”
Honestly I see aging as a blessing. It’s a sign that you’ve got lots of life experience and that you’ve survived, many people would wish to be able to get old.
I was apparently deemed old enough to not card at a restaurant, the waiter just recommended some drinks to me and asked if I was interested in any of them. I am 18 (Drinking age in the us is 21). I did not take the drink, I told them my age. I am still so proud that I was able to pass as an old adult, it was very funny

I was hanging out with a small group a friends, and one of them wanted to shade match another one of our friends, so she brought him to Sephora Well, I couldn't stay in there too long because the smell was just so overwhelming and I was already lightheaded, but even from the few minutes I was in there I saw at least 5 younger girls getting expensive skin care products and makeup not meant for children. Turns out, it was a group of like 15 of these girls being chaperoned by like 3 older people who I could only assume were their mothers, maybe an older sister, but it honestly looked like they cared a little too much about slowing down the aging process as well. Now, I don't know these people personally so I obviously cannot make that judgement, but it is still a little wild to me that they would take a group of 15 young girls to a Sephora and just kind of let them run free

Exactly, your skin doesn't even begin to wrinkle until 21 years of age and that's INCREDIBLY minor and just because your skin can wrinkle at 21 doesn't mean that it will. I'm genuinely scared for a lot of these kids, they're damaging their skin.
Having no childhood is damaging. I didn't get to really have a childhood and it has really mentally taken a toll on me. But I didn't give mine up voluntarily, they are choosing it so maybe it's ok.
Very true, as a 10 year old, the only thing I will ever use until I’m 16 is a god dang lotion and a good old towel. You don’t need fancy skincare, just have a positive mindset and focus on school. Trust me, the only thing that Sephora kids need is a new brain. The only reason I ever go to Sephora is to go grab my mum her make up, and trust me when I say, the drunk elephant samples look as beautiful as baby puke 😊
I'm 48 now and actually only two years ago started to need face cream. The majority of products are just consumerism sold with the lie that happiness can be bought.

I’m in my 30s and I started doing skin care and wearing sunscreen when I was 18 & had a outside job. I’ve been consistent with skincare, I mind my business, & I try not to stress. I sure genetic help my look young because my parents are in their 50s and look my age.
As a 16 year old I believe smile lines mean you were always happy enough to smile so often. Though I don’t have many I’m proud of the ones I somewhat do.🙂
I was using way harsher products than any of these sephora kids. Clean and Clear is a damn bomb to the face but my pimply teenage self bathed in it in hopes to get better. I'm not defending their behaviour in the stores, but good skincare is such a good way to love and appreciate yourself. These kids aren't out there doing dangerous things like smoking or drinking or worse - let them be and learn that as much as boomers constantly critized millennials, now millennials and genZ criticize the newer generation.
Maturing is realising that you should embrace your aging , for example getting white hair or being too tired to go out and have fun . You must embrace every stage of yours , they are meant to happen for a reason .
I don't know. I'm over 40 and this was me as a kid. None of my friends were like that but I wanted to be an esthetician. I was using adult products at 9 and my husband is 10 yrs younger than me and no one notices. People think I'm 30ish. I think so long as they're supervised and not slathering retinol they're probably just going to have great skin.
I'm 24 and have started developing laugh lines around my eyes. My face is very expressive so I'm getting a few wrinkles in places. Do I wish they weren't there? Yes! But I'm enjoying my life and they are naturally occurring.

Honestly she looks so much older than her age to me
...😮😢
I hope she ages her skin faster because of that
yeah, twice a day retinol is terrible. that would easily cause prolonged inflammation to the skin, which accelerates aging. you’d have to have a skin barrier of steel to get away with that.
also, retinoids make skin more photosensitive and increase the risk of sun damage + potentially cancerous lesions if you’re wearing them out during the day.

I was told that the Liberian director was really excited to show the American director that his hair was greying.

Retinol at 12 is crazy..at 12, you’re not aging. Your growing. There is a difference, and besides, aging isn’t a bad thing either!
Exactly kids shouldnt be using retinol vitamin c glycopic acid etc,its obviously not good for their skin and damages it,either way since they r just kids theyre skin is practically perfect so spending so much money on things they dont need for them and ruining testers in shops

Lets not forget the blatent consumerism. When i was ten, it was hilarious to put elmers glue on you and peel it off when it dried..😂 Coming from someone whos +40, its not a terrible thing to age. Just protect your skin from the sun and moisturize frequently.

I can't get used to it yet, I have to remind myself I'm not a teenager anymore (since I still don't feel like an adult).
The parenting bro THE PARENTING
Why in the hell did some parents not teach their 12yo daughter that aging is nothing to be afraid of?
Because you have multi billion dollar companies pushing that it is, and absolutely no regulation in place to actually prevent advertising from reaching kids.
And odds are you couldn't legislate your way out of it unless you make the entire snake oil beauty industry illegal.
Welcome to capitalism. You wanted this!
Because the parents themselves are insecure about that specific thing and don’t have the tools to think about it and cover it differently to their kids. Say it our loud or not, kids understand the philosophy you have around things.
Its like instead of fancy and cute stationary, gen alpha found SKINCARE as its replacement ✨✨
eactly, i dont get how they love all these expensive skincare stuff. a face wash, an oil cleanser and aloe vera is already enough for me. plus cute stationary is better, you get to make adorable diy things, keep a collection of them and maybe even sell them and earn some money for yourself! better to increase the creativity in your brain than wasting time damaging your skin.
@@a_idiot_bun yeah i agree, i think back in our times , TH-cam and other platforms were quite kiddish too, you know like how one minute craft and stuff were the vibe!! laugh lines and wrinkles are beautiful to me. They show experiences, laugh lines show you’ve been happy and lived your life to the fullest. Wrinkles are a physical manifestation of the wisdom that comes with age.
You are so right when I was 10 -14 the only type of makeup I ever knew was lip gloss. But that doesn’t mean to not take care of how you look, just wait until you are old enough to
You’re gonna age, it’s inevitable, just accept it & try to live a full & healthy life. That’s what matters, not how look, learn to love how you look no matter where you are on your journey. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
You will age but your skin will look better and be healthier if you care for it. My aunt is almost 50 and she has no wrinkles, smile lines, or acne. That's cause she uses hell of a lot of money for her skin care. She also doesn't even eat healthily. It's better to play with useful things like creams than with weed or smth
When I’m older I want smile lines in my face!! They are so adorable and beautiful I don’t see why anyone would want to prevent them. They’re just another thing to love about the aging human body ❤️
I honestly love wrinkles. It shows how much youve smiled and laughed in life. Im 13 and I just use a basic cleanser and a basic lotion. My skin is fine! I dont use makeup, and crazy skin care routines. Im 13. I want to go hang out with my friends at the roller rink and then go get fro yo after, I want to smile and laugh. even if it was 18+, literally no one will listen and just lie about their age. there’s really no way around it unless you implement some id-checking system, but that just sounds like a recipe for disaster imo

@@edoodoo1017 i honestly think the ID check is a great tool. It would also prevent the creation of fake accounts, people would be less anonymous
I disagree, it should be legal for kids 10+ to take retinol if prescribed by a medical professional (such as a dermatologist) to treat severe acne
Believe me, many many more people grow up with very few actual friends. Also it's nice to hear that you're just being yourself :)
I am just in the middle. Not a tom boy but not that girly lol
Just keep being yourself, you'll need it during your teenage years
I feel like that when I was a kid sometimes.hope you find friends. If not know you are not alone
i was in sephora getting a few skin care things, i get some serum and moisturiser! i pass the retinol and i say to my mum “those kids buying retinol are crazy for their age!” bare in mind i am 12! she said “You can get it to mess around but don’t like use it on a daily basis.” i simply say i’m okay and started looking around! i’m not saying my mum is bad but the sephora kids mums are the ones creating the urge to get retinol when they are 10? like it’s not the kids fault it’s the mums influencing their children and telling them “if you use this you won’t get wrinkles” and i don’t know the age to start using retinol but i bet it’s like 30-40+? like 10 YEAR OLDS are using that meant for wrinkles that they don’t develop until they are 35-45? so don’t go blame the kids, blame the mum.
I’m 13 and I do take care of my skin because I have naturally really red skin and I have eczema so my skin is bad and I do like helping it I think taking care of yourself is important so washing your face and putting moisturizer on it and like maybe a serum or two I don’t really have a problem with but seeing a 14-year-old a person who is the same age as me taking pills and extreme measures to have perfect skin and everything is almost sad, because not aging is a very obvious insecure and I feel for everyone who has this insecurity and if you do have it and you’re reading this, I want you to know that you are beautiful no matter how you look and I love you
wrinkles around your eyes and mouth just show that you've smiled alot and had a good life ❤
I think that kids need to calm down and enjoy their childhood while it lasts. And adults need to stop giving their children these harsh products to put on their face. When I was their age, I didn’t even know what skincare was!
So true

The thing about Botox is….its stretches your skin as you get the Botox injection it’s gotta go somewhere and then as it settles into your skin you feel like you need to get more cause your skin isn’t stretched with new Botox it’s a never ending cycle. Also look up MRI scan of Botox in the face…you’ll think again about it. the Botox moves around as well in your face especially if you just keep getting it done. It does not and will not absorb into your skin or system it is in your face forever unless you also get it professionally dissolved
I think you’re talking about filler, which is hyaluronic acid and not Botox 😅 botulinum toxin is a muscle relaxant, it doesn’t fill or stretch the skin, it just stops your muscles from moving and therefore no new wrinkles can appear

Then sun exposure, lifestyle diet and excercise etc THEN things like skincare routine comes in to play quite far down the list
People seem to think they can retinol away their genetics though or that skincare can win over a terrible diet and lifestyle.
Ok but guys also have amazing skin 😂

They’re slowly becoming mini adults. They won’t be able to look back on their childhood and go “wow I had so much fun at summer camp.”
Honestly I see aging as a blessing. It’s a sign that you’ve got lots of life experience and that you’ve survived, many people would wish to be able to get old.
The thing about that bendy straw is there is a STRONG chance of mold or mildew since you can see it almost always keeps that lil liquid at the top end
I knew society was doomed long ago but when freaking ten year olds are worried about wrinkles and aging, you know were past the point of repair.

I was hanging out with a small group a friends, and one of them wanted to shade match another one of our friends, so she brought him to Sephora
Well, I couldn't stay in there too long because the smell was just so overwhelming and I was already lightheaded, but even from the few minutes I was in there I saw at least 5 younger girls getting expensive skin care products and makeup not meant for children.

Do you want a golden medal for being such a special snowflake?
Having no childhood is damaging. I didn't get to really have a childhood and it has really mentally taken a toll on me. But I didn't give mine up voluntarily, they are choosing it so maybe it's ok.

There is no way you can’t convince me that the end of the world isn’t near. This generation is lost!
