@lxlEmotionallxl The makeup for this was very easy. 1) cover your face with white paint (I use Snazaroo). 2) Go around your eyes with purple paint/eye-shadow. 3) make your nose look longer by shading the sides of the nose with darker eye-shadow. 4) Shad the hallow of the cheeks. 5) paint the bottom of your nose (nostrils and a little above) black. I like to dot the nose with a lighter grey to give it look more like a moist doggy nose hehe. 6) Use a Setting Spray to keep the paint in place.
It can easily take two months if you don't constantly work on it xD. I want to try making some ears. When I do, I'll also post a tut. It depends on how black you want the tip to be. If you mix the black yarn and white yarn together, you will end up with a sort of grey color (unless you look closely). You can also go back in with an airbrush or marker and color the tips of the white fur black (:3).
i have a question.......if a tail is shedding...is that a bad thing? or should i just not worry about it... i mean it is new.... so that can prolly be why.....but i'm just worried that's all

well, you could tie cord around your waist. You could also saftypin it to your pants. Heck, you could sew a button onto the desired pants and then make a button hole on the tail.

You would have to put forward the money for me to buy the materials in order to make your tail, then once the tail is finished you would pay for the labor plus shipping and then the tail would be shipped to you (I only ship priority) :) . The price will vary depending on the length you want and the materials you desire. You can have your tail made from wool or acrylic. Is there anyway to give it a certain curve but still let it move and bounce around? I have some ideas but I want some feedback. I watched swaying tail tutorials and was thinking that a small swaying tail structure could be the structure then add the yarn on that? Do you think that would work to give it the desired shape? I’m making a golden retriever tail.
Cynthia Brogan i think the yarn could be added to a swaying base :). Sometimes I use wire to get that curve. But the wire has to be just the right gage or it won't bounce. Every tail is different
It's just another name for white wolf. Some people also call them polar wolves. I'm no biologist, but I did read a scientific journal about the prosperity and productivity of what the authors referred to as an "arctic wolf" pack. The scientific term that they used was canis lupus arctos. So, I'm thinking that it's ok to use the term arctic wolf (:3)

I got mine in the snow and it was fine :D . Now if it gets very wet then the fur might end up becoming kinky in texture. Just let it dry and flat iron it back out.

Well, when I do make them for people (which is super rare), I charge $200 for a tail like in the video. I think maybe at some point I will make smaller tails for less money. I just need the time. I use "I Love This Yarn" brand. I used "Red Heart" once and did not like it, but it still works. It's just not as soft. I'm so happy my tails inspired you :D

Oh, you can also use an old blanket, t-shirt, or some other fabric for the base of your tail (AKA, the four strand braid). By the way, the tail I made is 29in long, that's over 2 feet long.

What yarn did you use to make this tail? I bought two lbs of 100% acrylic yarn to try your technique and my slicker brush just tears it to shreds. :C Could it be too thin, or is acrylic not the best option?

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm a furry because I love the look of humans with animal traits, like paws, ears, tails, and I love the look of digitigrade legs. I'm not sure if I'm a therian though. Sometimes when I sit down I feel like I sat on _my tail_ ... that sounds so silly to me, but it really feels like it's there sometimes, like a phantom limb. I think it's probably because for a large portion of my childhood I lived way out in the country and my only company was cats. Thank you so much. I should practice more. ^^
Zullala You don't need to feel silly about the phantom tail, I feel ears on my head and some times even a muzzle, some how I cant feel the tail as much though :).
Certain body parts probably represent something or connect with a certain chakra, thus some are easier to feel than others. Well, it's a thought anyway haha.
I do some times feel a tail though, just not as often as ears, its weird though, these invisible ears I feel I can control and move back and forth and up and down, its really strange lol :).
it looks that you used two tones of white for that tail I never had any practice but if its for something like this I might give it a go but it will take longer for me to put the fluffs on it cos the fact im busy all the time Dx but I hope I get the result like how your tails come out
Here is a tip for you to help comb out the yarn before the heat treating , take a 1" by 3" by 12" piece of wood and drive bunches of 3 inch finish nails spaced about half inch apart evenly ,then drag your tufts across repeatedly (helps seperate the fibers in the yarn) before using the dog brush, it will help prevent tearing the fibers and results in a thicker fuller tuft! reseach CARDING COMBS ,they are used for spinning wool to make yarn.I have used this method for many years (along with similar method you use) to make many costumes from a fullbody fursuit for a sheep dog to a life size 6ft4 Bigfoot costume.I have been making costumes for about 25 years so share the knowledge for future costumers !
@wolvesred14 If you are happy with it the way it is, then leave it be ^_^. If you want to put a chain in, you will probably have to de-stuff it. You can get chains at Home Depot or any hardware store.

Honestly, I don't remember. I used a very bright white for the bottom and an off white for the top. I mixed the two together in the middle.

I got it from a local theater store. You can by it online though. You can get a variety pack for $15 or larger individual color pallets for $7.

Maybe 2 or 3lbs. It is heavier than a "pillow tail" but I don't think it's hard to wear.
Face paint will do that to ya. I put lip-balm on before hand, but the paint still sucked all the moister out.

This tail is the same width as my wolf tail. All I did was add a chain to the tail, but it really only makes the tail heavier haha.

Certain body parts probably represent something or connect with a certain chakra, thus some are easier to feel than others. Well, it's a thought anyway haha.
I do some times feel a tail though, just not as often as ears, its weird though, these invisible ears I feel I can control and move back and forth and up and down, its really strange lol :).
Stella Mightytree I can do the same thing with mine. It only happens when I'm listening for something though.

I'm trying to find a tutorial for a snow leopard tail or some sort of tail. This looks adorable!
Here is a tip for you to help comb out the yarn before the heat treating , take a 1" by 3" by 12" piece of wood and drive bunches of 3 inch finish nails spaced about half inch apart evenly ,then drag your tufts across repeatedly (helps seperate the fibers in the yarn) before using the dog brush, it will help prevent tearing the fibers and results in a thicker fuller tuft! reseach CARDING COMBS ,they are used for spinning wool to make yarn.I have used this method for many years (along with similar method you use) to make many costumes from a fullbody fursuit for a sheep dog to a life size 6ft4 Bigfoot costume.I have been making costumes for about 25 years so share the knowledge for future costumers !

@wolvesred14 If you are happy with it the way it is, then leave it be ^_^. If you want to put a chain in, you will probably have to de-stuff it. You can get chains at Home Depot or any hardware store.
