There is a lot of subtle details and acting in this drama. Like in this clip, something that I noticed. 1) Ruyi's reluctance to greet the Emperor. 2) Ruyi turning her head away when the Emperor puts the gown on her. 3) Ruyi pulling the gown closer to her after the Emperor had left and the Empress was lurking around. 4) Ruyi pushing the gown away from her after they have left. Like something that leaves a bitter taste.
These three women, the empress, consort hui, and jia, are so cruel! They really want to kill Ruyi. Empress really stupidly thinks Ruyi cursed her son yonglian but she was negligent in caring for her son and he died of asthma, certainly not by Ruyi’s hands. Yet she’s quick to attribute her son’s death to Ruyi.
