Happy to say I was there. Some years back friends of mine restored a TZ750 to a very high standard and got it painted like Steve's Yamaha Canada OW01. Subsequently Steve was a star guest at Festival of a 1000 bikes. My friends were parading the their TZ, Steve saw it and found it in the pits and contem congratulated my friends on their tribute. We were impressed that Steve is still as lithe as a racing snake and still fits in his "back in the day" leathers.
Some great names in that line up , Roger Marshall being lapped !!. Powerful engines with spaghetti frames , skilled and courageous riders .
great to see Steve and his AMAZING mechanic and tuner Bob Work- RIP Bob - I'll never forget that week we spend together at your house in Bellingham going through my TZ750 that allowed me to finish 7th at the AMA Formula 1 race at Road America the following weekend
Riding monsters .. such respect 🙏
Sucks that we lost the Peter Starr interviews, pure gold! When his podcast was taken down I guess they are lost forever...
I remember being 16 and going on my Fizz, I was hooked on racing for life, great simpler times.
Did you see the man in the tree? Bloody hell, now thats a real fan!
I was there 12 years old standing on the inside of the hairpin with the photographers and Stevie Baker wiped the floor it was great
Qué baño les dio a todos :
Esteve Baker
❤
I see Lucas Advertising Banners . sounds like Lucas made starters and electrical automotive equipment.
When Two Strokes ruled..
1976 rather sketchy tires.. Power on and off like a Toggle switch and spindly frames. It took some real skill and courage to race thos bikes flat out.
Anyone know who the bloke in the white helmet is at 5.25?
