    I'm just enjoying seeing a sporting event on TV that doesn't have the screen filled up with all sorts of stats, scores, station logo, etc. Oh the good old days when you could actually see everything.

      @@Jamie-1985 Sadly, the players can't see it, it's digitally enhanced like a green screen. Apparently in World Cup soccer, they had screens on field......rrrrrrrrr......."pitch" level doing the same thing. All the piped in crowd noise, awful digital ads and completely unbiased broadcasters. Viewing sports has become more of a chore than entertainment.

    • @generalbullmoose
      @generalbullmoose 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      He wore out his welcome by year 3 everywhere he went. He didn't coach the Rangers to the Cup in '94; Messier led them to that Cup. And Keenan was looking for any excuse to bolt after that, and found it when the Rangers were one day late with a bonus payment. I'd still like to know what he said to Belfour, though; Belfour was an equally miserable human being, as I found out in Dallas.

      Mister X he let him do whatever he wanted.
      Messier begged for keenan.

      @@danski6694 I believe they just meshed well. The real question is what would happen if the Rangers get Keenan after he gets fired from the Flyers? I believe we would have seen multiple Blackhawks vs Rangers finals during that era. I really think we would have seen the Blackhawks win a cup and the Bulls win a Championship at the same time.

      How often does a goalie get pulled after two goals? Only Mike Keenan does that. I've never heard of any other coach doing that.

    • @incumbentvinyl9291
      @incumbentvinyl9291 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jim-pq9pm I've seen that countless times. It's actually a good time to pull a goalie early after 2-5 shots, as 2-0 is called the worst lead in hockey for a reason. This could give you 50-55 minutes for an almost full restart and an opportunity to revitalize your team and grab control of play.
      If you knew hockey, you'd know that pulling a goalie after, say, letting in 5 goals, is simply too late to make a difference. It's often done to give a number one goalie a rest for the next game. A backup will stay in net most of those situations, unless it's getting humiliating for the team.

    Imagine if that were to happen in today's NHL? Keenan would have been fired, the NHLPA would have filed for harassment and the Chicago Police Department and the court system would be investigating assault charges against the coach. On top of that, witnesses would be called to see if there were any derogatory comments said between the two in which case both Belfour and Keenan would be expelled from the league. And from the looks of it, both Keenan and Belfour did not hold back from the expletives!

      Wow I’m surprised I never noticed that. Now that you mention it I see it now. Ditka at least won a Championship as a Chicago coach something Keenan couldn’t do. I really think his attitude set the team back and we probably would have at least won one cup if we had a more qualified coach. He seemed to just mesh with Messier. I think things would look a lot different if Keenan went straight to the Rangers instead of Chicago we would have seen Blackhawks vs Rangers in the Cup finals for 4 years straight from 91-94.
