I’ve been playing this game for a few weeks and I’m trying my best to really enjoy it. I don’t have any friends who play this so I’m usually running solo which is why I’m probably having a mediocre experience. 90% of the time I get shot by someone who I couldn’t even see. I check corners.. it looks clear.. as soon as I expose myself I get instantly lit up by an MG almost every time. I try to flank and be stealthy and I just get killed by a camper who is sitting in a bush or something. I try to attack with my team and I get nuked almost instantly. I think this game would benefit from a tutorial or training segment for new players. And a shooting range where you can practice with every class/weapon combo. Everyone who has given me tips says I need to flank 2 grid squares away from the attacking force so I try to do that and most of the time when I actually see enemies and open fire it gives my position away and I get instantly domed after shooting 2 enemies. Idk why I’m struggling to enjoy the combat. I played verdun for years and never had this issue. I’ve played insurgency. Arma. Post scriptium ect and I don’t have the same issue with those games. But for some reason I just can’t get the hang of HLL and I really want to enjoy this game but constantly dying no matter what you try to do. Without any team support or any recollection of what to do as a new player is very off putting.
I agree really trying to love the game. Defiantly helps though if you choose medic and in a team that talks. If you can’t kill least you can help the team and get props for it
@@elliottdebell7783 I’ve been trying to grind the assault class to level 6 to unlock the grenadier roll. The grind is pretty tough tho the amount of xp earned past level 3 is minor so it’s defiantly a big grind to unlock the other load outs.. I’ve managed to improve slightly over the last couple days. Finally snagged the sniper roll for the first time and went 43-7. Definitely my best game by far. I think this game is defiantly going to take some time to get used to. Coming from other hardcore games this is defiantly the most unforgiving of the mix. I’ve noticed that I’m moving around more than I need to and setting up ambushes and waiting for the enemy to come to you increased my survival time and enjoyment lol.. i also think I kinda started playing with different expectations. Looking into the game and Seeing ppl play on TH-cam i saw ppl getting crazy kill streaks running all over never dying I figured this was basically Battlefield but more hardcore and I was wrong lol. It’s just kinda a bummer to want to enjoy the game be playing well and as soon as the action starts you get snatched out of the fun instantly because you got smoked by someone who you didn’t even know was there but I suppose that’s how it would be IRL.
@@boogie5 He said he played post scriptum. Thing is Hll is super hardcore. You just need time on the game to learn all the best places to hide and know where the enemy will attack from. Once you know this it will become you fav go to game

Tips. Communicate, you dont have to be super tactical but talking helps (and makes it so much more fun) put down OPs and Garrisons if you are an officer (saves you running for miles and miles) and if your new (pick a class that requires less responsibility) Rifleman, Automatic rifleman etc

The second biggest piece of advice for new players is THIS IS AN FPS. No matter how much you want to roleplay. No matter how much you want 'squadwork' and 'communication'. This is not some immersion-fest. If you can shoot fast and straight and understand FPS games, if you are able to work out that HLL is about spawn points not cap circles then you'll do fine. THEN you can roleplay. I specifically leave roleplay squads unless I am in the mood because they are not effective at winning. Fun is subjective. The most important thing you can do once you've started playing HLL is remember it's a game, play it YOUR way and have fun. If teamwork and getting spawnkilled for over 4 minutes isn't fun for you, don't pick up the game. Good vid, game needs more and better tutorials. People don't have a clue when picking the game up because they won't research, and why should they.

My first game was a mixed bag, I killed 2 people in close quarters house combat, was pretty cool. Then when I died I would run up the middle of map with team and get artillery fire killed then I would respawn and get insta killed by artillery fire for 10min straight, it felt like i was playing COD Ghost where you die from bombs vs being shot at, that was pretty angering. My first game, idk how many kills or deaths I got, but I remember switch to medic like other videos said, and I saved maybe 3 people, woowww pretty underwhelming. Overall first game impression is its rough and punishing, I played 1 game and quit from the ptsd.
lol, it is not for the faint of heart.. IF you can stick with it, it is SOOO rewarding when you have a good game.. MAKE SURE you find a talkative Squad leader! that is so important!

I got hit by some sort of bombing run. As the bombs were coming towards me my vision was progressively getting blurry and and the explosion were so massive I had no choice but to watch.
Saving up for this ps5 just to play this. I’ll be joining the battlefield in another 2 weeks or so fellas! I love playing a hardcore medic in BF1 so I had alr made the decision to play medic for a while 🤣

@@Playa001 start of the map during warmup, place garrison build markers where you want to place garrisons. Drive supply truck up to the border first, place supply and build garrison, then work your way back dropping supplies and placing garrisons. Drop supplies just behind garrison for nodes, further ahead the better. Coordinate with engineers. Once you have done that, you are better than 90% of commanders

Too right.. need to deconstruct my fps skills to actually try and be reasonable at this game. Shooting off a mag doesn't work and even worse is being taken out by someone you can't see whilst engaged with a target.

Attacking in the attacking/defense game and went 3 and like 45. Pretty rough game but had a great squad. A different match we were turning a supply truck and choosing songs to play as we joked our way through the map. Away from all combat but having a blast.
milsims tend to give fun in the most unexpected places... I feel sorry for those that see the genre and have yet to take the plunge.. I'm not going to lie, I'm on the shitter after a long ass match getting steamrolled on Foy, the fact you assumed that earns you a sub lol I'm a console player and so happy games like HLL and Sandstorm have finally made their way over, I'm having so much fun playing these games. People on console don't communicate or mark where enemies are for shit. I had a guy tell me to stand up and look around for where they were firing from. Stupid.
@@boogie5 I've been playing for a little under 2 months on PC, and already in that time I'm hearing much much less communication, seeing much less teamwork, and fewer people taking on the 'dirty' jobs of SL, support, and engineer - to the point that it seems like that's all I play now. I'm concerned that this game is reaching its tipping point - it is not CoD, but if people don't bother with teamwork and tactics and learning what this game has to offer, CoD is what it will become - just another FPS. But this is a nice video. People need to know how to play the game, and you're definitely doing your bit.

I’m on PS5 and have no clue what’s going on. I run 20 minutes everytime to get to the action just to die by a camper or a fucking bomb . The game was fun yesterday when I first played it. But today not even a day later I wanna quit .

im really liking this game on pc with around 50 hrs. the games where your squad is acting like one are a lot funner than being alone

I’m on PS5 and have no clue what’s going on. I run 20 minutes everytime to get to the action just to die by a camper or a fucking bomb . The game was fun yesterday when I first played it. But today not even a day later I wanna quit .

start with Squad.. HLL is more arcadey ;)
I personally prefer HLL. Squad has a problem with people actually playing the objective, HLL does not at all. I find it much more entertaining.
