  • On March 9th, 1919, Ruth Elwood was found wandering through the desert in Lincoln County. She was dehydrated, disorientated, and had strange markings across her body.
    The doctor who examined her stated in his report, that due to her injuries and exposure to the elements he was astonished that she was still alive.
    At the time, she refused to talk about what happened to her and was discharged from the hospital a couple of days later.
    Gather round, thrill seekers, because have I got a story for you. Real or not, you decide - but I gotta warn you, this one's not for the faint of heart.

    Of all these types of stories that I have viewed on the internet, this one reached deep down within me. A reality of what happened to her touched me like nothing else I've seen or heard. Could it be that a common thread runs within me that resonates to the desperation of this women's situation, thank you for sharing this story, sincerely RWE.

    This story is fairly good. The only thing I can think of is don't use an AI voice. Although, sometimes their grammar glitches are funny 😁

      You raise an interesting point about the level of detail. In my experience, people can sometimes recall traumatic events quite vividly, even years later. But you're right that it's not always the case. If you have thoughts on how to make the storytelling feel more authentic, I'm all ears! And of course, if you have any real stories of your own to share, I'd love to hear them. subscribe to see how our channel and community grows!

      Wow Diana, that's a haunting observation. You're so right that Ruth's husband was the true monster in this story. It's chilling to think about how many real-life horrors are born from domestic abuse. Ruth deserved so much better. Stories like this are a sobering reminder that sometimes the most terrifying evils are human, and far too close to home. I'm glad this story got you thinking deeper about its implications - that's what great horror should do. Thanks for engaging so thoughtfully with this video. @TheTerrorTalesOnline  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      'Interesting and desperate' - what a perfectly chilling way to sum up this story, Ruth! I'm so glad it grabbed you. One of my favorite things about horror is how it can make us feel such a visceral mix of emotions - from morbid curiosity to heart-pounding dread. I aim to keep exploring stories that evoke those powerful reactions. If you come across any other tales that leave you feeling unsettled in all the right ways, feel free to send them my way! • @ruth_southernstar
      @ruth_southernstar 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TheTerrorTalesOnline yes, the visceral element is very important. I think it gives a horror tale a lift from one dimensional stories. I will certainly think about other stories I have enjoyed, it would be a pleasure. I live with persistent bouts of sleep paralysis, that terrify me, and the latest one had me seeking medical intervention to reset my sleep patterns. I would see a dirty grey creature sitting on my hip bones with its knees bent up to its ears. It had wings. I have never heard a story about sleep paralysis, and would love too ( if - in a fictional sense - only to know that I'm not alone). Ruth x

      I was thinking the same

    • @TheTerrorTalesOnline
      @TheTerrorTalesOnline  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You both raise a very valid and thought-provoking point about the choice of narrator for this story. As a male creator, I should be more mindful of how I approach stories centered on female trauma and the potential impact of the narrator's gender on the telling of those stories.
      At the moment, I'm a one-man operation and the only voice available for my videos. But as my channel grows, it's a great idea to look into collaborating with female voice artists, especially for stories that deal with women's experiences. I would love to feature voices from within the horror community, to both expand my storytelling capabilities and to uplift fellow creators.
      I truly appreciate you commenting and spurring me to reflect more deeply on how I handle this heavy and sensitive subject matter. I'll absolutely keep your points in mind as I continue to develop my channel. If you have any other suggestions for how I can most responsibly and effectively tell these kinds of stories, I'm all ears. Thanks again for the food for thought, and for holding me accountable as a creator!
