I just subbed to your channel a few days ago. I haven't collected cards since I was a kid in the 80's/early 90's, and your videos have been very educational and very interesting. It's amazing how much the card market has blown up in the last few years. I'm looking forward to getting back into the hobby with my recent purchase of a box of 23/24 Panini Prizm cards. As a Spurs fan, I'm hoping to pull a Wemby to go along with my graded Duncan rookie and Autographed Robinson cards.
Good video - but an improvement would have been some discussion about how those Unitas cards would grade. You pointed out their flaws, mentioned that they're not 9's and 10's, but failed to simply add what they would actually grade. You could have added some valuable insight about the difference between a 1 vs 2 vs 3 vs 4, etc. I know these are worthless grades in modern cards, but since you were discussing vintage, the difference between a 2 vs a 5 is really important. Thanks.
This was a great video. I found my 1979 & 80 topps baseball set recently. This Grading of cards is for the major OCD types. Most people don't even look over their $100,000 car this insanely before purchase? Oops a thread is off a stich in the back seat so now the car's worth $30,000.🤔😳😬 Are expensive paintings this scrutinized? And the fact that PSA doesn't even tell you why a card is graded an 8 is Crazy. Tens of thousands on the line at times. Is this a real card? That's what these companies should be used for. And now if the card turns out to be worth more I find out they charge you more for grading.🤯 What a racket.
like i said before 90 percent of my collection went from the pack into sleeves i did it myself my biggest problem is i am no longer in america so is slow mail or other types of mail tustworthy to ship i wonder
depends on what country you are living in, since they complete the delivery. also depends what years you have 1986 to 1998 or so, most likely not doing.
It depends on the cards and what you want to do with them. Right now, SGC and BGS have the best turnaround times with lower costs - however, PSA has decreased their prices but have longer wait times. I would go with SGC or Beckett for quick flips and PSA for longer investment/collection goals.
The best way to do that would sell on eBay at auction or fixed price. Or send them to a consignment seller to sell for you and pay a fee. It depends on which cards you have really
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR Thanks! I just pulled my Ozzie Smith card seems it is a hot item, mine is in excellent shape been in a sleeve since I got it like most of my older cards. Looks like the borders are slightly off but in looking on E Bay it seems that was common on his card? Is it worth grading? I have a couple of thousand cards from the 70’s, it’s just sorting out who is worth getting graded and who is not then the lost in the mail, damaged in transit or switched out by unscrupulous graders. So many unknowns. I was not a rubber band or card in the spokes kid. I saved my cards remembering my Dad seeing old cards he had and saying he could kick himself for not having them anymore but things changed in the 80’s. I guess certain 70’s cards still hold value. Dilemmas.
Yes - I will slowly be getting back into my old style content of low hanging fruit, submission videos, box breaks etc. Right now I am getting back into the swing of things on the current market values.
Great Content, the Ruler Rule for Centering Eye Notices should help but so do Tools like that, on your Submissions will they be your own or will you be helping other with Submiting to PSA?
That McGuire card has little chance of getting a PSA 10. The borders left to right are to far off, the right corner looks to have a small ding and there is to much whitening on the top side of card. I’d guess 7 on a bad day and 9 if you had the luck of the Irish! PSA is getting very stricken with their grading of late….unless you have a “sweet-heart deal” with them.

Thanks for the sub! Welcome back to the hobby! 🙌 It's pretty nuts.
Miss these kind of videos. Thanks for the continued knowledge drops!
Thanks, man! I appreciate the feedback - more to come! 🙌
Four C's! Corners, Centering, Cut (edges), Clarity (surface)!
I like your videos. Lots of good information! Keep it up!

You should show this to PSA
Most of my pre grade reviews have been very if not spot on with psa

I have a large childhood collection from the 70’s early 80’s most in albums and sleeves. Is it really worth it to get them graded?
I'd say pre-2000 (let alone pre 1960) The Big 3 grading companies seem to hammer anything older than 2000.
If the centering is off but rest of card is perfect how much lower would the grading be
I have a 1990 rookie sammy sosa error card should i send it to get graded and if so who do i send it to
Is it ok to use cloth you would use on plasma screens to clean cards or paper towels only? Thanks for the channel
Microfiber, champ.
Yes - you can use the cloth used to clean screens - use a small piece and test on some common cards first just to be safe.
Awsome input but what if you know you have a good card send it in and it cine backs a lower number.
Great video! I think you meant millimetres rather than centimetres tho.
Either or works great - just don't use inches 😆
Very helpful thanks!
You're welcome!
If most grading companies are using 7-8x magnification or higher,
what benefit does using 3x have, you would see less defects.

Yeah, but how do you grade a mosaic reactive front whe the checkers are all over the place🤔
Let's see that Frank Thomas and Griffey! 😅
Whats the best place to have cards graded

What if you have a collection in great shape and want to sell it? What is the best way raw?

Saludos amigo 👍 gracias por la información
Great video. I use gloves, so i keep my fingerprints of them 😂
Will you ever do low hanging fruit pickup videos ever again?
Yes - I will slowly be getting back into my old style content of low hanging fruit, submission videos, box breaks etc. Right now I am getting back into the swing of things on the current market values.

I grade it hope for the best and sell as soon as i getvit back

I was also surprised when the video suggested a 9 on that one
How to grade your sports cards? Send them to me in care of SGC!
Someone really needs to create a site where you can send pics or scans of your cards to recommend if you should get them graded or not.
1990 Topps looks slightly off-centered by design. But I agree the McGwire still couldn’t gem.
