Don't worry, Tim said the same: almost sounds like a Polyphia song with Japanese vocals.
And I consider that a compliment to team Babymetal, because of how well they are able to adopt to all kinds of (sub-)genres and band styles, etc. They are masters at extracting the essence of that and then making it something of their own.

This is a Babymetal song. It was on their album Metal Galaxy 5 years ago, this is the first chance to perform together. Tim and Scotty added in their guitars, but the demo came from Babymetal. No worries though, Tim has said recently that Babymetal have signed up to do a guest spot on Polyphia's next album.

It was written by the Babymetal team but they absolutely wrote it as a Polyphia style song and then Tim and Scott came up with the guitar parts. It's so much different that when it came out in 2019 a lot of BM fans were like "this isn't Babymetal!". But I honestly think it's a nice middle of the setlist song to sort of calm down and reset between all their high energy songs. And it's really cool that they finally got to perform it live with Tim and Scott!

They're rocking out the Europe Tour and certain live shows with this song, soon they will end the tour at Resurrection Fest in Spain, hopefully they will play RATATATA along with EC on the stage.
Btw this song was composed by BM team, Polyphia guitarists only added the guitar solo section.🦊🤘🔥

for some reason many people think that this is a new song.
This is the song of 2019. They just used to perform it without Polyphia (prerecorded guitars). This is just the first time they've performed this song together live.

This is Tim and Scott on a Babymetal song that sounds like a Polyphia song. However, Tim revealed at Download the other week that there is another collab in the works and Babymetal will be featuring on an upcoming Polyphia song.
This was indeed filmed at FOX_FEST like the Ratatata performance. Both live performances of the collabs were performed during Babymetal’s headline set. I was in the mosh pit for both days. It was such a good show with sets from Metalverse, Bilmuri, Polyphia, Electric Callboy, and Babymetal. Well worth the trip to Japan.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this artistic play at the venue (2 times in the two-day Fox_Fest). What a bliss!! Soothing and exquisite performance by 5 elegant figures in the center 😍. Classy support by our Kami Band on both sides (4 guitars in total) ❤ Various elements created by 3 beautiful performers and 6 instrumentalists with virtuosity were mixed and sublimed into one beauty by means of something like alchemy. The actual applause at the end of the song was much much much bigger than that recorded in this video.
They did it together again in Belgian festival on June 20.

Despite your strong opinions, you're wrong on both counts. : )
The BABYMETAL team wrote 'Brand New Day;, and asked Tim and Scott to record guitar tracks for it.
Official credits are: Music & Arrangement: MEGMETAL (Wada Megumi).
    Lyrics: MK-METAL (Mikii Watanabe).
Both Electric Callboy and BABYMETAL have made it very clear that 'RATATATA' was a 50/50 collaboration.
Yes, BABYMETAL's songwriters are great at adopting and incorporating the styles of the artists they work with.
That's why 'Road of Resistance' sounds a lot like a DragonForce song, even though the DragonForce guys don't have any writing credits on it.

Good reaction - and I'm on the keyboard to say the Kami Band don't write BABYMETAL's music, they don't even play on the studio recordings (there is only one known exception that being guitarist Leda Cygnus who wrote the guitar arrangements for at least one song and played guitar and bass on a small handful of songs). The Kami Band play the live shows.
Rick Wagner already explained exactly who did what, who has writing credits etc on this song and what involvement Tim and Scott had.
The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's 3rd album Metal Galaxy released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but BABYMETAL can do everything.
That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are featuring or collaborating with.
Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.
They did it again at Graspop in Belgium. Tim and Scott have enjoyed working with BABYMETAL so much that they want to do more and have asked them to be the featured artists on a Polyphia track on their next album ... I expect they will write that one.😉

No official credits of course, but if you are a fan of his and have followed his youtube and instagrams, you can clearly hear many of the parts are consistent with his compositional vocabulary. Can't be sure, but I would bet on it. 🤘🦊🤘

Crazy all these reactors who follow and reactor to both Polyphia and Babymetal have NO IDEA this song is almost 5 years old and were just able to do the live version this year.
P.S. I had no idea who Tim, Scott, or Polyphia was until I heard this song and have been listening to the fellas from Dallas since.

  • @turbozed
    @turbozed 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The BABYMETAL fans that would disagree with you are Polyphia and Electric Callboy themselves, ironically.
There are a lot of BM songs that are distinctly unique to them like Megitsune or Headbanger. But throughout the years they've paid homage to other bands by writing in the style of them. Most of the time they've been able to get the other bands involved like here with Polyphia and with Dragonforce for Road of Resistance.
When they can't get the other band to participate they make sure be extremely vocal in interviews about making sure people know who the song is homage to. Dream Theater and X-Japan are two that BM have directly borrowed from.
And yes, the girls don't write the songs themselves as they are performers. This shouldn't negate the fact that there are talented human beings hard at work over the past decade as part of their team. If you want to disregard their efforts because they aren't up there on stage performing that's up to you. Some musicians work behind the scenes and prefer it that way.

The genius of Babymetal is being able to write songs in the style of OTHER bands, so much so that reactors disrespect them by stating unreservedly that, "This is a Polyphia song with Babymetal on it!"
It would be better if you did a little research before making grand, disrespectful comments about songs...

This is definitely a Polyphia song with Babymetal lyrics. You're right. But Ratatata is a balanced collaboration. You can definitely hear both in that. Kingslayer, though, is Babymetal with Oli vocals, weirdly enough, since it's a BMTH song with Babymetal as feature.

Can we all agree that contributing all the guitar parts is co-arrangement of a song? However, It is not writing the basic idea, melody, the lyrics, and the structure, etc. . . that was done by the song writers and lyricists.
Babymetal's songwriting team can generally tailor a song in just about any style Koba desires. ROR was written to mimic "Through the Fire and Flames" for example. Ollie said BMTH wrote "Kingslayer" and sent it (presumably with placeholders) to Babymetal, and then team Babymetal sent back options for their parts. Thus they were "featured". This is apparently the case with Polythia here. :) The song was deliberately composed to be Polythia-esq. That is why they were approached in the first place. . . lol
Dream theater did not write TOTD, Slipknot did not write CMIYC, X Japan did not write NRNR. Babymetal's songwriters are master mimics. Why is it hard to believe the actual musicians involved and the publishing credits? Although I think the confusion it is a big compliment. . .
Anyway! They are all awesome and I hope they keep them coming!!!!!🤘🦊🤘
