Leeches used to be able to grab you during iron will but they changed it since it could be impossible to escape a leech that downs you under a low ceiling. Stingtails though are not nearly as instantly dangerous as leeches, and their snare can be dodged/deflected with some experience. Personally I like that the sting tail is still a threat during iron will - the perk shouldn’t just be a ‘get out of jail free’ card. Shellbacks could already knock you around during revives, should they be unable to roll into someone during IW too?

This way you dont buff an already strong perk, rewarding player skill making them able to dodge Stingtails and maybe rolliepolies while revving at the risk of interrupting the ress if moving too far away from the downed dwarf

Was playing a mission with lithophage warning, and the meteor landed in a low part of the cave, going through a much higher part near spawn, which meant that there was a giant hole with a massive drop, and a sting tail pulled me in. Never had a panic attack playing deep rock before that moment
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. In this case, trying to revive when there's a stingtail in grab range that you haven't killed yet.
I'm surprised you actually managed to almost reach the end of that last mission lol. Maybe it Stingtails are constantly pulling you away from revives think about maybe killing them?
they're way too tanky to kill. it took like two and a half mags with the zhukov to kill. thats why i switched back to the engi to use the breach cutter, they still too tanky tho
@@DrDevvi the best way to kill them I found is with the gunner to let them grab you and throw a bunch of brt bursts (lead spray oc is recomended) straight into their face. kills them in seconds. Another way is to bring a weapon with good armor shreding.
Greybeard here with some tips for the Greenbeards struggling -Stingtails have shifted the meta a little towards Armor Break, so taking those on your weapons especially on Scout who excels in single target damage will do wonders. Prioritise them -Make educated calls on resupplies. If there's a swarm and your team has roughly 70-80% ammo, I'd still call one down because you'll either need to resupply after or during the swarm anyway -If you're using Iron Will, usually the correct thing you want to do is gain health. Remember that resupply you called before the swarm? Dash for it. Find red sugar, get a vampire kill, just gain whatever health you can to stay alive. This is what makes Vampire+IW so strong. Consider taking Resupplier and Sweet Tooth as well
Actually, it's possible to finish this kind of mission, if you use bunker extermination tactic when swarmed. Roll out Pot of Gold or Dark Morkite and go for Morkite walk. Finish the mission with 0 losses and dig up at least 70% of resources of the map and GET STONKED!
I think y'all are just bad. 1. You could have brought blackout stout on the mission. 2. You could all have used the fatboy 3. You could somehow win with that.
I honestly think that while someone is iron willing, they should be immune to stingtail grabs.

Stingtails are pretty much Praetorian Leeches. Now weigh your odds and see how effective killing them can be by yourself.

Good advice. I always run iron will, dash (if I'm not scout), vampire, resupplier and the rest vary. Those perks seem to work OK for me
