- Today's video is me discussing the multiple problems and issues with lore in the #roblox game #deeepwoken and why the lore is dumb. Kenith is in layer 2 because of his resolve, your souls strength/weight is not dependent on physical strength, but also your mental strength, he resisted the mind veil lord regent placed on the city and even desired to reveal the truth of what's happening in the city. His determination and ability to resist the mind veil made his soul heavy enough to go to layer 2.
Not everyone down there is a godslayer, the npc in the railway is probably down there due to their desire to study and learn everything about the kyrsans to the point their soul was deemed strong enough to end up down there.

Silentheart DOESNT mean you deny the song. The name is confusing and I blame the devs for making it odd, but the it works is essentially that you deny the WORDS of the song. Mantras aren't called mantras for no reason, they are chants, lyrics.
When you get silentheart you are told your heart is changed to the drumbeats of the world and of the song. You exchange magic, HUMAN abuse of the song, in exchange for the more primal drumbeats of the world. Bells and murmurs are not the words or lyrics, so they do not count.
Mantras and songchant are highly refined versions of the song. Whatever silentheart uses is raw.
Essentially, you go ape mode, Ted Kaczynski "The Cantaclysm and it's consequences have been a disaster for Lumen's races" mode, and you start sending pipe bombs into mantra trainers mailboxes.
You don't deny the song, you use pre-cantaclysmic song, maybe. I think. Maybe Arch said something in the discord that disproves all of this or perhaps I'm delusional. I'm just going off of what I've seen in game. I will agree with you that the lore just seems everywhere and is not properly written into gameplay or even fucking item descriptions. The discord should not be an actual place to commonly refer to when it comes to finding out what's true in the lore. It's not "soulslike storytelling," it's random stuff splattered everywhere with no real direction.
dreadstar also calls someone who killed you with an attunment someone who abuses the song
"The stench is nauseating. You've died at the hands of those who abuse the Song, thus you strive to strengthen your resolve to overcome them. Yet you cannot do so. They have wronged us as well, long in the past... and we desire the same as you, hateful one."
Tbh the real lore is how the devs all have their own ideas of the lore

deepwoken devs neglect the lore and just bend it to fit whatever stuff they wanna add. it feels disregarded and not cared about and it feels really off knowing that they'll just add/contradict anything if it means they can make it work for what they want to add
The fact they said Water & Light won't be added and have kept that promise to this day disproves this. If I was a dev, I wouldn't spend time prioritizing lore when players really don't care. Think of the Diver Journals. Nobody actually reads them, they just get them for Deepshore Fossil. Also, even if they did add full Lore quests or whatever, nobody would do them, so it just ends up being something they occasionally add on the side whenever they feel like it. That's probably why it's so inconsistent sometimes. This isn't a story-based game like Arcane Odyssey. It's a Build-Making game.

I actually find it quite amusing to se a monster using a murmur. It reminds me that the Song isn't exclusive to humanoids, even Monsters can evolve to use it.

It's actually just because the monsters of the deep already harness the song, that's how they exist and become corrupted. Megalodaunts are already able to do an ardour scream, so why shouldn't they be able to learn tacet aswell? It's even how they spawn in when not chewing on a body. Also, they don't use rhythm cause it's exclusive to layer 2 :P
I like to think that captain Orlando wipes him self every time he hears you wipe or sense you wipe so he could chill in fragments of self and look cool while waiting for you to ask him tell you the basics again just in case you forgot and then he just gets restore for being the GOAT of deep lore and telling about bugs that we've never seen before and that's why he gets all the restores

Nicely enough, the captain in fragments is a memory of him, which is why we refer to him as just “the captain” in fragments
1. I mean regular sharkos use ardour. It's presumably just an ability that they have that hasn't been expounded upon
2. I always thought it was just agreed that the cause was ministry corruption, which is why it's no longer loyal to the hive
3. It's exactly that. You ignore the lyrics of the song aka mantras (speaking magic) so enchants and resonances work. It's not about the difficulty but the classification. It's not different notes but a whole other part of the song
4. The starkindred trainer outright says that the celestial was taken from the rotlands below
5. Regent does literally control the depths since he's a prophet so it's not all that far fetched

7. Yeah they're all physical places. This is expanded on in the thresher claw item lore of all things where it explains that the boundary between layer 1 and the surface is extremely dangerous which is why power 20s can't just swim down

Deepwoken lore is so cool but it can be so confusing sometimes
One of the points you made is that shopkeepers sell the training item for shadowcast even though it is illegal. The training item says in its description that it is blessed gem. Now an inconsistency would be why we cannot use it.

Akira is the strongest Diver we've seen so far cannonically (talking about gameplay-wise of course), it is said that Klaris is barely strong enough to kill a power 20 like us, so she must be like power 25 ish
My friend managed to play the game for over 6 months, prog several builds, and get high elo and didn't learn about the lore timeline until I explained it to him. If that doesn't show how badly it is all over the place then I don't know what does.
Also just to clarify silentheart rejects the words of the song, not the song itself. The words of the song are mantras.

the maestro weapons are a set of enchantable legendary weapons, its just inconsistent what they decide is enchantable for "balance reasons" even though purple cloud is absolutely broken and the fact its enchantable does not help

Actually, I read all the lore stuff off the wiki.
But yeah, the game never tells you it's your soul getting sucked into the Depths, from which you can directly infer that everyone is just straight immortal aside from true death, which only occurs in the Depths.
Reservoir and tempo were a combat system rework, unrelated to the lore.
Also, generally shadowcast itself isn't necessarily illegal, it's apparently just because the Ministry use it. There is very obviously a normal way to obtain shadowcast (via Umbral Obsidian and the proper knowledge/people). The guy in the story most likely used some type of failed method that led to taking the entire ether of a person permanently.
Resonances aren't an application of the Song, they're just a power created by the soul. I find it much weirder that they're capable of using Murmur, which is literally an application of the Song. Anyways, the "silent heart" that Silentheart replaces your heart with is capable of sustaining your life through its own power, while also blocking off the Song.
Also, Captain Orlando's getting jumped by the Divers if he tries to kill Klaris. And in case you haven't noticed, there happens to be someone called Akira who is most definitely going to retaliate if he attempts to actually kill Klaris.
Visionshapers are meant to continue hunting Owls, so of course the Owls are going to still attack them. It's just a game for them.
In some universes Heaven and Earth are opposites, while Hell is a completely seperate dimension existing outside of both of them. So this checks out.
I just want to mention, Captain Orlandeau really isn't all that. He can survive and plunder quite well, sure, but he is not capable of slaying the Scion of Ethiron. Much unlike us.
I remember when people thought the lore books would tell you how to get contractor oath and others when layer 2 released
this video has a ton of mistakes:
Lord Regent sits on the coral throne all the time because it’s what allows him to cast the mind veil (source: arch mage, operation puppet master book)
Silentheart doesn’t make you outright reject the song, its a pact with the Dreadstar to purge those who abuse the song, which is a much weaker application of a drowned god’s power. while it only makes you cast away mantras with a vow, not the song outright (source: dreadstar dialogue, kaide dialogue, vows by the sea: inheritance, silentheart card description)
orlandeau got banished to floor 2 because he was a pirate and that was his punishement (source: tutorial, f2 orlandeau dialogue, klaris dialogue)
railblade isnt an application of one’s own magic, it mechanically constantly produces it’s own heat (source: railblade description)

I think it’s said by that one guy who gives ministry rep or the book quest for aces, maybe even one of the books. Apparently shadow cast is an illegal attunement only used by the ministry cult and might be a key part in “drowning the world.” This is only speculation tho.

shadowcast is "taboo", like If you got caught with, you will be either executed or exiled (check wiki)
@@empsychos5209 Yeah, it was created by the Ignition Union. Just like the Mecha Sharkos in Miner's Landing, it just generates heat. Railblade has no relation to Flame, so theoretically it should have access to enchants.

Silentheart's vow rejects the Words of the Song (Mantra chants). Resonances and Murmurs are not words, that's why they're not affected by this oath

Devs need to stop talking about lore and make players more incentivized to exlpore the world for lore like the secret updates.

most people dont care unfortunately, as much as you hate devs, they neglect lore for a valid reason.
few months ago the Rogue Construct got it's Lifeweave stuff removed and only does it's physical attacks and the weird fire bomb slam. So it'd make sense why it wouldn't have any major use for reverse engineering lifeweave cause the Devs could just say it weakened over time in Minityrsa or just say it's an older model. Plus the golems seem to explode on death so honestly I could see why they never get a chance to study them, nothing left to study if the hunk of (metal? rock?) is blown up with any magic along it. Still, would love to see overtime map changes and certain explanations for why certain characters live despite how much time passed.

My theory on silentheart. Is that as we know silentheart replace your heart technically. So my theory is that the "heart" is also the "soul" and vice versa so I think what silentheart really does is give your soul the ability to live without the song or silentheart replaces the need for song kind of like replacing a golden egg with a bag of sand on a booby trap

The reason hives advancements havent made it in game yet is because the aratel is one of the smallest greathives in the lore. The hive has a ton of greathives spread out everywhere trying to siphon the life and grow their own trees and land and the bigger ones are probably where the technology and biggest weapons are

The legion are so weird. How is there not a camp or base at hive, considering you see them there constantly fighting authority officers. They only have a super tiny camp in a cave at lower Erisia.

All mobs have Tacet which you can see if you've seen mobs despawn and the hive mech at minitrysa is called a "rogue mech" for a reason(it doesn't belong to the hive anymore).
if the deep lore actually tied with the game, i believe it would make the overall gameplay experience much better.
They should add sifu mechanics to Deepwoken when you get older the scale of your hp lowers but the damage gets higher hence “the older you get the more fragile you become but stronger perfecting your skills”

It’s possible that ever since zi’eer took control of etris he made shadowcast legal again, because based on the events of the stars above and the blade between we can presume that he knows shadowcast magic, and also the ministry tends to use it so there’s no reason for him to keep it outlawed

I know I'm months late to this, but at the end of the day it's just a Roblox game.
I wouldn't expect it to give us insane lore behind every weapon out of the 134 something weapons in the game and balance the weapons accordingly to the lore,
Especially Legendary weapons, it sounds like a fun and cool idea till you run into a lore accurate Pyre Keeper or Gran Sudaruska and get one shot.
I think lore in the game is just something they added because it made the world seem a bit more lived in,

I don't think it plays a huge role right now especially since Deepwoken and its "story" side is incomplete as hell.

Funny how contractors are meant to be direct servants of lord regent, yet after getting oath and progressing it we just do our stuff or be like freelancers.

The devs remind me of a redditor. The person said if they ever made a book. They would make the same book with 10 diffrent endings that are sold everywhere so everyone debates the real ending. The devs all have their own story and ending.

We should have more storylines to make the lore a bit more tied into the gameplay in my opinion
The races do have good buffs and different things they give you, like how adret will give you the extra points, it helps you level faster than playing another race or how the moth one can be attacked and then see the person who hit them through walls so if they were to try to run or hide it would be pretty hard.
I sincerely hope your joking or you need to play the game for another 2 years.
where's the joke at? I'm not a 600 lbs. no life that sits on Roblox all day but from what I can see the races are all pretty good in different ways, I just pointed out his one-sided pov. and I don't plan on becoming someone who no life Roblox for the next 2 years I play it for enjoyment not to cry about what's there and what's not. just saying you prolly could use some time off of Roblox if you cant see that a glider doesn't make tiran (don't know how to spell it don't have it) the best race in the game. @@lnDomitable1
@@lnDomitable1 there are literally way better races for example the one with the skull mask that gives buffs to allies or people around you, that could help out way more than gliding down a fkn mountain where theres most likely a zipline right beside you.

Made a post in the deepwoken sub a while ago exactly avout this. A few things you missed:
Where are the other ministry guys (we currently know number 4 (lord regent) number 2 (chaser's master though you only know about him if you search discord) number 1 (the deepwoken, again its only on discord).
The justicars, theres literally no lore about them, they just exist
No explanation for the magic behind the barrier on castle ligth
We dont even see any of the work ligthkeepers (funky guys that stay in the lighthouse) do, and supposedly we need then to cross luminants.
Sky statues (this one i think theres a explanation on discord too but idk)

What is it with Arch and Rag only releasing little snippets of the lore to the public? Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a giant lore doc and just made stuff up

A few of your points are slightly flawed. Do correct me if I misunderstand any of them, however, I believe there are some explanations due:
First of all, Shadowcast itself is not technically illegal, but it is taboo, and is considered to be only used by cultists. It is likely that you would be restrained only on the absis that you are involved with the occult and thus, by proxy, may be affiliated with certain crimes. However, your considering example specifically, Etreans would likely turn a blind eye consider the Mind Veil that has been placed on them by the Lord Regent to keep them docile and unquestioning of the past of Etrea and the identities of both himself and many officials. This may likely include a "blindness" to Shadowcast, as a result of The Ministry being proficient in its usage, though this is speculation.
Secondly, Greathive Aratel has been described by yayafino to be one of the most technologically inept Greathives in all of Lumen; which is stating something comparatively speaking. The "mechs with plasma canons" you speak of are present in other, more technologically up-to-date Greathives, and it is likely that these mechs are piloted by only very high-ranking military officials, such as Polis. Soldiers of The Hive we see in-game are all also relatively low-ranking and likely given standardized, low-access equipment as a result. The Hive being "racist" is a misconception that many make, as well; with yayafino accidentally stating that in a few interviews. The Hive has always been a democratic republic and is willing to elect any race into their ranks so long as they agree with their ideology, the only exception being the sole position of Greatlord.
Additionally, the Rogue Hive Construct in Ministrya was hacked by The Ministry and is under their control. As for the point made on Shadowcast's original obtainment, while this is possible, it is also equally likely that, over time, The Ministry pinpointed the materials necessary to construct Attunement Potions to mass-distribute to other members of The Ministry (considering routine sacrifices of civilians or other lower-ranking Ministry members would be incredibly difficult and time-consuming).
Lore-wise, some non-Attunement legendary weapons would likely be enchantable. Lore, in-game, does not equate to a 1:1 gameplay ratio. This would be impossible to keep track of. I do agree with your statement that there should be some justification.
Now, a major point that you brought up; The Song is somewhat of a "magic force," in layman's terms. It does not hinder nor foster the development of life. The evolution of humanity through the usage of it is inherently linked to death (Great Drownings). Lightkeepers are also incapable of using The Song in any way, shape, or form; which many theorize is the cause of their "Gift." The Song has nothing to do with the birth of life and does not inherently sustain it. Furthermore, Silentheart rejects the WORDS of The Song, meaning mantras. All other aspects of it are fair game to The Dreadstar.
Kenneth presumably has a stronger mental resolve than The Duke, hence why he drowns further. Last I remember, the Captain is... entirely unrelated to Klaris and... did not consume a piece of a Drowned God? Maybe that whole segment was a joke that I missed. Klaris also never made Dawnwalker with the intention of it being an Attunement, just a scientific recreation of Lightkeep with combat-oriented intentions.
Silentheart one could definitely be explained with the Dreadstar being a similar entity to Yun'Shul
and Dread being what replaces the song that your body functions off

I think I can explain Silentheart bells, the bell is the result of your heart resonating with your soul aka your body and soul becoming "in tune".
if you can still resonate with your soul you could still manipulate the song, same with abilities like ardour scream and the fact that you even have ether in the first place.
if they fixed deepwoken too be fully lore accurate it honestly might be one of the best games out there on the platform.

The simple reason for the technology not changing is that would require a big update every few weeks / ingame years and the shadowcast thing is just because it would be annoying as hell

I feel like if they truly wanted people to include lore in people's heads as a step to get more people talking about it is maybe basing updates around big things like oath releases around lore drops. An example being like.. dropping silentheart around a massive loredump where you put it together and you find silentheart that way. It's so.. weird.

Silentheart only rejects the words of song which are mantras, I'm assuming the bells are notes of the song that require no words as we don't say our bells when we have spell shout, same thing goes for why they can still vent and benefit from ether related talents.
I think the biggest problem is how stationary the game is. Basically, you are just trapped in Eastern Luminant, unable to change anything in a meaningful way. You can't stop the war, you can't free the Lightkeeper Viqh to go to other Luminants, and after all the trouble you go through, you can only fight aimlessly and purposelessly until you wipe.

I have always been interested in the lore of Deepwoken (and Gaia lore as well) but since both games NEVER talk about lore in game and I'm not interested enough to go find out myself on the wiki or in the Discord I only know what everyone else knows and some stuff from an old Punchee video.
Deepwoken actually do tho but they mostly irrelevant as shit and make sense when only dev speak about it

I think I know why silentheart has bells and stuff.
In the game ts say's that you reject the words of the song, and I think by words of the song it means mantras but, the lore doesn't back this up correctly.
Ok for Silentheart its actually pretty simple you dont deny the song completaly instead u deny Attunments and mantras, because you dont Spam/Waste the song since Bells dont Spam and brake the song (with brake i mean like the drowning)
If i remember correctly, with silent heart you physically DONT have a heart anymore and you're given an artificial one from the dreadstar. An other worldly being that is removed from the song, this is also why when you do an oath break you not only are fucked but in lore you legit DONT have your original heart and only an artificial one that has just been attuned to the song.
TLDR: Silent heart works because you technically are dead via heart go bye bye but are also alive removed from the song in its entiery.
Dawnwalker is an oath that klaris created from the offshoot of lightkeep that she has called radiant tunes, you can ask her or her friend in the hidden village for this lore
for the silentheart one if iirc its not that the shrine stops you from having song it just stops the flow
best comparison is blood, blood flows through your body with your heart pumping it with silentheart your song no longer pumps the song throughout you it gets turned off but its still there just not used
as for the bell part the bell is a gift of song given to those with their soul its a being stronger then the dreadstar giving you a note of song directly
