    Having cruised a similar Corsair F31 from 1999 to 2007 I can attest that there is nothing like sailing one of these at 18 knots. I remember cruising with our friend's kids dozing on the nets when we hit the ideal conditions for a speedy reach - we were at 17 knots and I had to wake them up to see it - their comment was "put the big sail up!" (Wife's comment was "furl in the jib"). The thing about this boat is it planes and that's where you really pick up speed. We've since moved up to a larger but slower trimaran and I often look back fondly on the days when we had a simpler boat. My only regret with the Corsair was not getting the 15hp engine as I think it would have been better for cruising.

    so neat. above deck table needs lips on it, even if a cat won't heal much, still will have 10deg to 15deg.

    They should span all hulls with the cabin so it is not just another tiny mono hull.

      Works on the bigger trimarans but they get heavier and unable to fold and tow

      Bit late but the main reason Corsairs and especially Farriers don't do this kind of stuff is performance. A big wing or bridgedeck cabin adds a lot of weight and a lot of windage, which ruins the truly excellent sailing characteristics these tris are famous for, not to mention trailerability. You already need a 'decent' (read big) 4WD to tow a relatively light tri of 9m length and up any distance. These tris do exist though, but they are mainly for liveaboard and blue water cruising, look at the Neel trimarans for an example. But that is really a different kind of sailing than these boats deliver.

    The Corsair is beautiful. A boats like the Corsair and Dragon Fly capable of extended ocean sailing?

    • @larryboles629
      @larryboles629 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Crack Baby I kind of thought that. The thought of going 20, 25 knots in a small-ish easy handled 40' Dragon Fly caught me for a bit. Saw one at the boat show, they are beautiful. I am an extended cruiser. Back to drolling over the Moody 45 DS and looking at the used listings that are in the US. Thanks

    Where's the "TEST" part of the video? Did I blink & miss it? Geez the presenter could at least show the folding of the outriggers instead of "you just undo these 4 bolts and" . the videos are narrated by "salesman" not sailing folks what a disappointing presentation!!!!

    • @Erin-Thor
      @Erin-Thor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... He did walk on it... seemed like a firm footing to me. He also wore street shoes which I’m sure the owner really appreciated, especially if there was any gravel embedded into the tread.

    • @Erin-Thor
      @Erin-Thor 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robert Lane - LOL! I meant he seemed to be wearing the same shoes he walked there in on deck. Ive known more than a few owners that will not allow. Deck shoe worn off the boat to be worn on the boat. They do this because gravel bits can get lodged in the tiny treads and will mar the plastic fiberglass and wood surfaces on board.

    • @MultihullCentral1

      Not easily, but possible. The floats on this design are very large with lots of buoyancy forward towards the bow so you can drive the boat very hard down wind.

Oh, sorry, it’s too expensive but a good (cough) salesman will sell you it for double the price... let’s see how much we can rip you for: I’m looking for a fast tri I can trailer and also live aboard for two to three weeks at a time...
