When I played it for the first time, I didn't notice the transition, but I noticed that it had changed, and combined with the stage theme reaching it climax, it made for one of the better gaming experiences I had Though watching this video, I have to admire that ZUN made the Sun actually set. Literally nobody would notice that the Sun is moving during the stage yet he still put effort and time into it and I have to give him credit for that
Yeah, most of the time I only get the rough idea of where we are in the first playthrough. But at the same time, it's interesting that a lot of us do pick up the idea that we were backing away in PCB and WBAWC based on the background.
It weirded me out at first, why the land was slanted. The first idea I had in mind was that the heroine was flying in a tilted way. Then I realized it's the mountain side after night hits.
The stage visually represents the basic trip our parents had to take to go to school and back.
Yeah they see this task as Big Deal.
I spat my drink out
not to mention they had to deal with kitsune saleswoman offering them shady deals along the way
harsher times indeed
zun puts so much effort into these but most players are probably too focused on surviving to see the backgrounds

@@AzuRemilia std(the language used to make the backgrounds) i find hard to code in so zun is impressive

Jajs épico
I thought it was mountain, but after everyone saying that it's tilted I started to doubt myself
Guess I wasn't going crazy after all
That's such a steep angle that goes on for so long though! It makes me dizzy to think about
@@onomis They do say the air is thin up there
love how ZUN creates breathtaking audiovisual experiences with the lowest of tech
夜空が綺麗すぎる
Stop speaking Japanese. No one Understand you and Commenting Pointless.
I **really** love this stage. It's so beautiful and the music goes brrr~
Touhou Does the Vast Sky Belong?
I never noticed just how much effort ZUN put into occluding the light rays properly. ssg
I actually completely remade the light ray occlusion effect for this :)
@@Dai_karasu sasuga Dai then, well done!
still nice that he thought about it when making UM
SO PRETTYYYYYY!! im glad to see it without the bullets bc i usually get so distracted by the sunset that i die
YES STAGE 5
It looks super beautiful like the other stage backgrounds :D
Are you think so? I think Extra is Best.
こ~んさるたん!
Here it comes
my favorites stage
definitely in my top 5 most beautiful stage rolls
Watching these videos started to make me wonder if zun make the background first or the music first
According to an old interview with him years back, it's almost always the music first before anything else
2:01 Ay you fixed the sun still being visible behind the mountains when it's setting down. :hahaa:
2:24 like that
This stage's background was beautiful, but how come it looks like the trees were painted on the mountain ^^;
