I was actually considering Roanoke as a place to settle down not long ago. Find a place on the other side of 81 not too far from the trail and possibly open up a small hostel. Then South Carolina started calling my name. But Roanoke looks like a pretty nice town!!
Wow, that's an air b&b? Shoot, the hallway looked like a hotel. And Roanoke looks like a fun town. All I ever see are the outskirts, but living downtown could be fun. If it's like other cities, downtown is probably expensive. Anyway, thanks for the tour!
It’s in (what looked like to me at least) an old school or government building of some kind. Now it’s all efficiency apartments and a brewery! It’s a cool spot.

Welcome to SC! We’re in the Upstate…..close to all kinds of great NC/TN trails…and of course, very close to the Foothills Trail!
