    I think the pvc tape hanger has room for a little improvement. If you use two different diameter pipes of the same length and slide one into the other. You can slide as many tape rolls as you need over to one side or the other and pull the pipes apart to take a roll of tape without having to take all the rolls of tape off to get to the one you want.

    A cheaper and safer alternative to your first tip is to buy a seat belt adapter for your dog/cat's collar or harness. You can find them on eBay for under $5 or make your own with an old seat belt latch and leash clasp. This has the added advantage of keeping your pet safer in the event of a crash and allows you to have the back windows down for them to get plenty of fresh air.

    The idea using glued on sandpaper can also be used by folks who can't reach their feet but want to have a way to keep foot calluses smoothed down. Use a fine grit sandpaper and hot glue and replace the sandpaper as it wears. This would be a handy, diy pumice stone like device.

    Some good ideas here to build on.
    The sink strainer lifter would store more easily with a tee on the end.
    Extending the shoe horn handle (and adding a tee?) would be great for folks with mobility issues and can't bend/stretch to their feet.

    LOL!!!! MY BABY will be 14 YEARS OLD TOMORROW, NOV. 3!!
    We have been together since Dec.24, 2005.
    She's always had a harness, secured to the passenger seat headrest by a leash, short enough that she won't hit the dash or windshield due to a sudden stop.
    She used to have a Tinkerbell child-sized stuffed chair wedged between the seats of our Suzuki Sidekick where she rode high enough to see all of the exterior surroundings and safely secured to the headrest.
    After we got our mini van she now has pillows so she can see out and enjoy the panoramic view from the passenger seat.
    She's never been in the back seat and she's NEVER ridden without being safely secured.
    At 8# my little Chihuahua would easily be able to go between the PVC openings.
    ANY PET OWNER who does not SAFELY SECURE their PET is TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE and SHOULD NOT HAVE PETS.
    PETS, CHILDREN and ADULTS who are NOT SAFELY SECURED become PROJECTILES at UNDER 15 mph and WILL BE SMASHED AGAINST WINDSHIELD OR DASHBOARD resulting in CRITICAL INJURIES OR DEATH BY A SUDDEN STOP. .
    Speeds above 15 mph will FLING passengers through windshields and door windows.
    PLEASE, do not encourage IRRESPONSIBLE HUMANS how to keep their PETS and KIDS from climbing into the front seat by installing a PVC barrier.
    THANK-YOU.

    I've been binge watching your videos ever since I found them!
    OK, on Idea #5, the shoe-horn...
    You can make the handle about 2 1/2 feet long, and you don't have to bend down to use the shoe-horn. Put a 1/2" hole on the handle end and you can hang it on a coat-hook above your shoe-rack.

    If you ever, (and I hope you do), put out a book, (or maybe even an ebook), of all the pvc hacks you have shared, pleasel let us know. Today, I personally needed the shoe horn, curtain rod, and sink-stopper removal; I certainly could have used the screwdriver one when putting things together, but I'll know in the future, as well as the plug-reach tip! I know I haven't seen them all, and I forget alot of what I 'have' seen. A book would be SO appreciated! Fair thee well!

    Here is an idea... I guess "arm knitting" with super thick yarn is all the rage now. I saw an idea to use 1 1/2 inch PVC for the needles, and I have two pieces of it in 24" lengths. They suggested duct tape for fashioning the tips/points, but I could use some expert advice on making tips that are both sturdy and will stay on the PVC. I have couplers for the end to keep the yarn from sliding off.

    Niffty idea with the "strut" brace, not sure if that's what they're called but, if you wipe the pistons down with W-D 40 BEFORE they go bad, you won't have to worry about hacking up your PVC. Just a little preventive maintenance goes a long way.

    As for the PVC "shoe-assistant", I simply untie my shoelaces and slide into my sneakers ....

    • @keefe43
      @keefe43 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      many shoes are too tight and undoing them to put them on takes extra time so a shoe horn is a useful item, I have used them for many years, If I hadn't got one I would make one as I have lots of bits in my come in handy shed.

    • @calichigal
      @calichigal 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some shoes don't untie, like slip-on sneakers.

    • @jjo5375
      @jjo5375 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the sneakers today come with those horrible high tabs in the back, and as a senior, even opening the laces as far as possible, those tabs are an obstacle to getting the shoes on. Finding a tall/long shoehorn is difficult, and I've tried using smooth cardboard, but its been a failure, basically. NOW I have the solution for this daily challenge. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
