Yeah I was wondering this. I'm by no means an expert and never played past little league, but all the slow motion swings I see of Major Leaguers have more of a diamond shape between the arms. Maybe pitch location has something to do with it.
almost all elite mlb hitters hit with their front arm locked in an angle close to an arm bar. The gurus teach kids to start and maintain or keep their front arm elbow flexed to a 90 degree "box" through the swing and into contact yet you rarely if ever see any mlb players have their front arm elbow flexed to 90 degrees after they have load much less during the swing and at contact. Coaches today teach out length in the front arm yet all mlb players do it. It is directly proportional to power and if it was not golfers would not do it. Its physics. They teach to stay connected but at a flexed front elbow to 90 degrees. At least it is better than the past teaching of pushing and extending elbows to the ball but keeping the front elbow flexed is not only a large loss of power it is especially for young kids a recipe for players to push and extend with their elbows. That is death of a swing for power and consistency.
Just joined a men’s baseball league. I come from playing golf and all my buddies tell me I need to flex my arm instead of keeping it straight. But when I do this it feels like I have a lot less power in my swing.
@jetblake14 golf is more rotational because the golf ball is stationary when swinging at it. Dont have to time it up. You can still hit bombs that way you just might suffer a little consistency trying to time the bat rotating through the hitting zone with a baseball moving around. Keeping your front arm more flexed and focusing on leaving the bat through the hitting zone longer will help with consistency.
@@Cannon_Case Roids are mostly for recovery that’s something ALOT of people seem to not understand. When you recover faster you’re able to get back to work sooner, especially from injury.
Notice both arms fully extend upon impact… all these coaches wanna teach kids to keep everything tight and inside for a “faster” swing.. naw dawg full extension!
He's obviously on Adderall if he's hitting 30 plus dingers at around 5'9 and 170 lbs. He doesn't have fast hands and he's extremely weak. He'll be out of MLB in 5 years or finish his time in the minors.
Crazy that he's able to hit a 90mph pitch with a swing that slow.

@@avok7642 Of course not. It's just a joke.

Look at how much he rotates through his swing at the end 🔥
His entire front side is already facing the pitcher before he even makes contact with the ball! Great rotation.
Wow. That “one last look” was true. Man. That’s crazy.
That golf match happen the day Klay unfollowed the warriors?
That is so beautiful
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio

Notice how he comes down/ drops the bat on the ball before finishing in an uppercut
I’m surprised with how street his bottom hand arm is. He doesn’t “stay connected” does he?

A lot of hitter still use a “barred” front arm. See Griffey’s swing for example, or Acuna.

Except that he’s using his arms to blast the ball into orbit. Beautiful bat lag. Per Teacherman, the arms are the enemy of the swing. Smh.

This helps a lot, I used to have a large flex in my arm but I almost arm bar now and it works way better
Interesting point similar to golf. Tiger and Ben hogan stress to have a straight left arm(right handed swing)throughout the swing
This is a low pitch that he reaches for. MLB hitters do not extend their arms when they are on time.
