    Bernardo is one hell of a person that really impressed me. One of biggest gifts I received in 2023 is finding him TBH. Looking forward more from him.

    Wow!!He nails it!
    42.34 now the world,under idealism,is just an appearance of a deeper reality so that dimension of mystery and meaning is reinvested into the world ,the world is no longer flat,it is a superficial appearance or a representation of a deeper reality and your insights are no longer for nothing,they will never disappear,they will be seeded into the broader context of nature upon your death so meaning comes back..

      Superficially, Bernardo Kastrup SEEMS to be promulgating the most ancient spiritual teaching of Advaita Vedanta (as found in the Upanishadic texts of India) but due to reasons I won't go into at length here, his understanding is rather flawed.
      If one carefully listens to any of his monologues or interview videos, it is obvious (at least it is obvious to those who are truly enlightened) that he regularly confuses and conflates discrete consciousness (as emerging from the neural networks of animals) and UNIVERSAL Consciousness (which is the all-pervasive, eternal ground of all being, more appositely termed "The Tao", "Brahman" or "Infinite Awareness").
      He also believes in (limited) freedom of volition, which is, of course, ludicrous, and his understanding of suffering is truly infantile, which is unfortunate, since the eradication of suffering is the goal of life.
      In order to PROPERLY understand the distinction between the two aforementioned categories of consciousness, you are welcome to email me for a copy of "A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity", which are the most authoritative and accurate precepts extant. My address is:
      Prophet4God@icloud.com (don't worry, I am not a Theist, I'm a Monist/Idealist)
      SpiritualPsychotherapyServices@gmail.com
      However, my main criticism of Kastrup is not with his metaphysics, it is, rather, his METAETHICS. He is, objectively speaking, afflicted with a demonic mentality, as demonstrated with his support of all things contrary to Dharma (the law, and societal duties), such as egalitarianism, feminism, homosexuality, and socialism.
      In a recent interview, for example, he displayed abject ignorance when discussing the topic of animal consumption. Hopefully, he will one day realize how incredibly hypocritical he is in this regards, and become a compassionate VEGAN. 🌱
      After all, to criticize Bernardo for his teachings being only, let's say, ninety percent accurate, would be silly, since, compared with almost every other person who has ever lived, his philosophical understanding is fairly sound. Yet, what is the point of being even TOTALLY correct about metaphysics, when one's metaethics and normative ethics is fundamentally flawed?
      Furthermore, Bernardo has admitted that he has struggled with mental health issues for several decades. I would suggest he flee to the loving arms of an ACTUAL spiritual master in order to learn Dharma (as well, of course, correct his flawed metaphysics).
      Peace!
      P.S. It seems Bernie Boy has BLOCKED at least one of my TH-cam accounts, so if you are reading this, you are indeed fortunate. ;)

      I think he found similarities in his with Vedanta (Just like Spinoza ). Many western philosophers (Scaupenhauer) and scientists (Oppenheimer) have shown interest in Vedic philosophy that doesn't necessarily indicate they all live by it.

    Inner Experience/Extrinsic Appearance different than Inner Experience/Extrinsic Experience-- not dual, there is no other experience outside of inner, it's all consciousness which comes to alters/finite minds as Experience/Appearance relations.

    Speaking of map/territory-- we must remain vigilant throughout our explorations and evolution together, that, evolution by natural selection is also a convenient fiction.

    How does the collective cause the transpersonal mental processes?

    27:00 Again, this sounds ridiculous: Who cares if we "inherit their memories of suffering;" the Mind-at-Large of which we're all just dissociations obviously doesn't know, still, or doesn't care -- perhaps even *enjoys* the suffering!!
    After all, on the episode about plants in the most recent "Cosmos" mini-series from a few years ago, Neil de Grasse Tyson reported that the smell of fresh-cut grass we enjoy so much is actually *the grass' way of crying out in pain,* releasing chemicals in pain which we find very pleasant!!!
    I really hate it when Bernardo goes into copium/hopium mode -- he just sings kumbayah without justifying any of it!

    • @davidchou1675
      @davidchou1675 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean the sadists' memories of pleasure inflicting pain gets incorporated into Cosmic Consciousness, too! I really hate cockroaches and used to impale them with toothpicks and burn them walive with matches -- that was great fun to destroy my enemies so!
      (Yeah come on what red-blooded boy hasn't tortured insects that bother him, huh??)
      I just don't understand how Bernardo can go on all the time with his hopium about Analytic Idealism transforming our lives...then again, many people don't understand how he can just casually shrug off Deepak Chopra's woo!
      Ever seen Bernardo ticked off by his intellectual opponents?? Yet Deepak who's obviously another self-help personal development guru charlatan gets a complete pass from Bernardo, which is weird....

  • @davidchou1675
    @davidchou1675 ปีที่แล้ว

    45:08 Sigh...so sad to see Bernardo always carefully laying out the case for Analytic Idealism, step by step, only to then crash the car with his copium about "meaning!"
    He goes from a to b to c and then suddenly he's at z (say priviet to Putin for me Bernie ol' chap)!
    How does Analytic Idealism imply -- not suggest, not simply make room for, but actually logically entail or imply -- "meaning"???
    What is "meaning" anyway??? Just an isomorphism, no, Bernardo????? So what -- what the symbol that is our lives stand for could be as ridiculous as a pan-dimensional fart in the cosmic wind, ultimately...how do you know the Universal Mind-at-Large that we are isn't simply bumbling along, and the "meaning" turns out to be nothing than that of a banana peel laid for a practical joke???
    We're just dissociations of Ultimate Consciousness, you say -- and you lay such a persuasive case that I salute you for convincing me! But you present no actual argument with similar rigor when you then veer off constantly into Deepak Chopra territory, just irresponsibly postulating conclusions without a syllogism!
    Come on, man! You obviously can do better than that!!

    • @davidchou1675
      @davidchou1675 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean what the hell did we as The One dissociate for in the first place??? At least that might suggest some possible teleos or meaning to all this nonsense -- you are me and I am you insofar as we're just dissociations of The Ultimate One that we really are...which sounds absolutely ridiculous but okay you've convinced me, most unhappily (I too was looking forward to the rest of oblivion promised by physicalism), but why do you never feel compelled to provide any justification for this leap into the certainty of meaning???
      I don't feel my life boring and empty due to me being convinced that there is no meaning whatsoever (except as passing fancies that are just physical processes of Nature)...everything's just ripples in the Field of Mentation, after all, so what could possibly be the meaning of a wave, a ripple???
      You say Mind is not self-aware and you've convinced me there, too, so how could something so mindless involve any meaning?????????
