    Colorado Springs, The Loft for ECS, and The Whiskey Baron Dance Hall & Saloon for country swing/west coast. Think there are some places in Denver as well

    I'm a ballroom dancer so can't speak to the country aspect of your videos. However, I think they're terrific and easy to follow.

      Hi there! Welcome :-) ECS is ECS. There may be a few stylistic differences, but it's the same basic structure in American Rhythm as in Country. Thanks for being here and the positivity!

    When dancing with a follower that may not know what you are planing, how do you leaders signal the change from 6 count to 8 count patterns?

    Cheyenne Wyoming at the outlaw saloon. Wednesday is dance lesson night...I would love to come take an advanced lesson..the live music is right after the lesson at 8. You might get a better crowd in Laramie Wyoming at the cowboy saloon and dance hall.

      We’ve talked about SC. I (Anthony) lived in Greenville for a short time in the 90s and used to dance at the Blindhorse.

      @@countrydancex We’ve only lived in SC for about a year and we’ve been learning to dance since last October (maybe). Lots of “new” for us. We moved here from NW Indiana (about 40 min southeast of Chicago). So we’re not familiar with the Blindhorse, or many places to dance (because of Covid). Hoping “post Covid” we will have more opportunities to expand our dancing. Sure would love it if you guys toured here and we had a chance to meet you. I watch your videos every week and I’ve learned a lot! ❤️. Hope you’ll give our area serious consideration. 😁

    ECS is easy to learn and many beautiful steps. Most popular dance in US.

    so I listened to your instruction about turns vs spins and how some instructors teach a spin on 1 axis when it should be a turn that travels and I believe that to be true also, but then after teaching that your move must travel, I realize that you call it the shoulder check and spin, so now I am confused.

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, you’ll notice we actually turn on that rather than spin. Semantics

    • @RSO1225
      @RSO1225 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@countrydancex So, sounds like you are saying it really does not matter. You can call a spin a turn or a turn a spin.

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a move on this channel called a hurricane and another called a tornado

    • @RSO1225
      @RSO1225 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@countrydancex Okay, now U R being ridiculous and I don't know why, you encourage questions and comments so...... On this video you gave a lecture that a spin and a turn were different. You said a spin was on 1 axis, it did not travel, where a turn travels. You teach in this video not to do a spin, but to do a turn, yet you call the move a "spin". I think this is a valid question that should be answered seriously. If you really don't want questions then I apologize for bothering you.

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well... that was weird. The answer is simple. The name of the pattern does not always have to also double as a pattern description. In truth, all Patterns are made up by someone and all names of pattern are also made up by someone. Whoever decided to name “the shoulder spin” chose that name for whatever reason they chose. This was the point of the last response. We could call it a banana twerk and it wouldn’t change the content of the pattern or the best means of which to perform it.
