The behaviour of AR Rehman as judge is just like how a judge should be. No wow, wah wah kya bat hai etc., either with gestures or words. Right person to judge the right talent. His keen observation whether the notes are mismatched and all ups and downs are followed is simply superb.

I am so glad Hindi cinema has used southern singers else would have never known SP Balasubramaniyam, Yesudas, Chitraji and many more. All of them are my favorites.
Same here for someone from a Dravidian state. Until Ilayaraja used Lata Mangeshkar voice in Valayosai song, most have never known Lata before. To this date, still don’t know much of her songs, but have enjoyed a few like Jiya jili and Lukku chuppi. Her voice is sweet and no wonder adored by many north indians.
