- Recently unearthed from the archives comes the full version of CelebriD&D with Joe Manganiello! This episode features actor Joe Manganiello (Archenemy, Magic Mike XXL, Justice League) as the Dragonborn paladin/barbarian Arkhan joining forces with Critical Role's Matthew Mercer (Dungeon Master), Marisha Ray, and Taliesin Jaffe, alongside Nerdist's Dan Casey and Jessica Chobot on a mission of life and death as they delve into an abandoned temple in search of an ancient relic.
I'd love to see Joe Manginello, Brendan Frasier, and Nathan Fillon at a table together. That would be a dream.

Joe is so low key- until his turn, then it's like a lightning strike. Any being that can steal the Hand of Vecna from Vox Machina gets major respect.
He kinda just swings, hopes for crits. And then does like every paladin and asks for D8's like he made the class. Or me an my entire table laugh at him cause Fire breath isn't a bonus action. But he does it at every fuckin table lol.

@@norandomnumbers with the new dragonborn UA (likely coming in the fizban book) Dragonborn can use breath weapon in place of one weapon attack, which feels MUCH nicer
@@donjonmastergaming5911 I'm not waiting on UA or books for the fix, I run a homebrew campaign and allow my players to use it as a bonus action.
The problem with allowing it to replace one attack is that often just hitting with your weapon is still way more effective than using the breath weapon.
Marisha saying how she loves playing with "old school" guys like Joe reminded me of that time Sam was impersonating her and goes "it's weird being next to all these old guys from the eighties or whatever".

To everyone wondering why Matt looks young this video is old because this is the first time keyleth and Percy met arkhan and they met again in campaign one just to clear some confusion.
Is it bad that we pay this much attention that we are like, Did you just revers age?

I've never been exposed to D&D at all aside from small bits from tv/movie. Happened upon this video from another video where Joe got a new D&D table. This was pretty awesome! It was like watching a movie with a choose your own adventure twist to it. And the dungeon master was phenomenal. Bravo!

@imrbrt if you liked this i recommend checking out *Son of a Dungeon* which is on the youtube channel *Corridor Crew*, they're all cgi artists that did a 10-ish episode season-long d&d campaign and have 3d printed maps and dungeons that they cgi their characters into, it's pretty awesome.

That would be so cool. But I don't think the other celebrities would like it. He plays with some cool people. Some wouldn't think would play D&D, like the big show from WWE
@@KINGDUDE74 The Big Show is also a big video game nerd. Several years ago when I was working in Afghanistan, he and some oother WWE stars came over for a USO tour. I was leaving out on R&R the same time they were headed back to the states. While we were waiting on the flight to arrive for us to board to head to Dubai, him and I had a long conversation about Destiny.
I would personally want to keep them private. The word "privacy" is a keyword.
Despite being a lifelong nerd and gamer, this was the first D&D session I've ever seen..... and DAMN this was awesome!!
They make it look awesome. The knowledge of their own characters' ability really adds to the experience

It's such a treat to get more of Percy and Keyleth and more of Matt's stories. Taliesin's dice rolls were on fire!

Well, for being my first ever video to watch a Dungeons and Dragons adventure or even paying attention to DnD after starting Solasta! I am so blown away and this adventure was so great to watch. Thank you everyone. This is an incredible board game.
you should check out their normal game on critical role, there's 3 campaigns and dozens of episodes for each one. also *Son of a Dungeon* on Corridor Crew's channel is a really cool take on a D&D game with 3d printed dungeon maps that they cgi themselves into
I hope they put out more old content that was lost to Alpha. That DM tips live with Satine and Matt I’d have liked to have seen in its day.

He didn't do anything bad himself - his character just stole the hand of Vecna after the last battle in campaign one.
Spoiler free answer:
Archon shows up in Campaign 1 and he does some "shady business" in game. He is Evil after all,, but all in all they are still friends. (Matt knew what he had planned to do. So it wasn't THAT big of a deal. But still.. it was pretty crazy)

As a fan of Dwarves, I kindly remind anyone about Dwarven Resilience:
Advantage on saving throws against Poison, and Resistance against Poison damage. Mind you, it was more fun that he fail the saving throw (but taking a bit less damage for the Dwarf could have helped).

Abandoned by my parents at a monastery, i hate it here, and I'm sassy af. I'm not going to say that Marisha completely ripped the idea of Beau from Jessica, but she definitely did.

Jesus.. Joe would be a nightmare for a control freak DM. He knows his shit, he built a very capable character and there is very little hesitation in his play style. A weak DM would simply lose control of the table. A control freak DM would kill or cripple his character somehow.... but a good experienced DM that wants to create a fun challenging experience would love him. New players can learn from this guy... ive played dungeons and dragons since 1979. He is one of the best players I've ever seen.
I mean, he has built a simple paladin. The DM built the oneshot around his character- there were undead foes that he could control, no flying enemies that he was unable to reach (I have the feeling the Manticore wouldn't have fought them while flying). How a DM could lose control of the table or become frustrated over a DMG subclass is beyond me

I made a living as a player of playing the cleric. if done right, it's one of the most powerful characters in the game.

The healer is always vitally important
When Jaffe rolled the 2 20's he should have gotten a much bigger part to act. He said he'd never done that and he's been playing forever. I would have made something miraculous happen. Doesn't have to kill the monster but I'd give him a scene that fit his achievement. Not just you shoot the monster twice. He was so happy and for an emo he doesn't seem to be much into trying to be happy

I always hear how difficult it is to get someone to play a Cleric. I absolutely love playing Clerics. Have played them since I was a kid. Loved being that person that everyone loved to have in their party...
it really is a game changer when you have one in your party
Clerics are awesome. Twilight or Peace Domain Clerics can downright break the game in certain settings.

Joe hardly played, yet his character was so OP for this mission. I'm new to D&D, sort of. I played as a kid, very little. Now, I want to learn as much as possible to play and DM. This was great!!!
well to be fair, the first snake NPCs were just the warm up fight. i assume the manticore would have been a much more difficult battle
