Frontman Jonathan Davis on the song's meaning: "It's about me watching people who are so narcissistic destroy themselves. They basically eat themselves alive because of their narcissism. That's the gist of the story."
I think people are missing the point to this song it isn't about depression or hatred etc it's about the effects after abuse people go on about abuse but the effects and life after is torture and real
""It's about me watching people who are so narcissistic destroy themselves. They basically eat themselves alive because of their narcissism. That's the gist of the story.""-Jonathan Davis
Everyone loved this song even with dubstep... And now everyone complains about a dubstep album. Even though they literally made another good album without it. You guys need to stop complaining about every single thing. They tried something new (well, heh, not really new), it was an experiment. You won't get any shit done without experimenting.
This song always fucks me up. I was married to a narcissistic cannibal who destroyed everything I loved. 15 years together and thrown away like I never meant anything to her. Cruel world we live in but it will get better. God bless everyone!
Considering how many lead singers have killed themselves in recent years, it's really heartening to see how Jonathan Davis has managed to just keep moving forward and be relatively positive.
My therapist said it was good to comment about my life in a place were it would be possible to reach others that have gone threw simular trama. I just recently found out my mother is a narcissistic a hole, when before I thought it was me being a bad girl. But her facts never added up to the facts of life. I grew up confuse and dispiesed myself. But listening to korn and others has helped me heal. I doubt that my words will ever reach the many people that play music and unknowingly helped me threw my life but if you do, korn, disturbed, linkin park rip Chester, evanescents, nightwish, nickel back, and many more I thank you all for helping me hide from the monster.
Girl I relate so much... Discovering that my mom was a narc was the first step to get my own BPD diagnosis and get the help I needed. It's so hard and I struggle a lot with my own insecurities learnt while growing up with a narc but I hope it will get easier eventually...
SSJI Neon I just found Korn over a year ago and I’m so glad that I did. The band has helped me through college and has made this semester which is my last because I was supposed to graduate in May (now December due to Covd 19) much easier to handle. I was diagnosed with depression in 10th grade and it was rough, even with medication. I already have ADD and Aspergers so it just made everything harder and it took a while to figure out my all of my negative emotions that I couldn’t control. Korn is that one band that I can say acts like an antidepressant to me, because they make you feel like it’s perfectly okay and normal to have emotional issues.
SSJI Neon Bands like Korn and Disturbed any some of the others that you listed helps helped in highschool and college with my frustration and dealing with my somewhat sympathetic parents who care on and off. When I started as a freshman in college, I had no idea that disturbed was releasing a new album back in August 2015 when I started my first semester in college. Immortalized was an album that I never knew I needed. It still had what disturbed what it is, but there was more positivity and uplifting concepts on it. ‘The helped through the hardest parts of my first 2 years. In my 3rd year, I decided to look up older music and bands from the early 90’s-mid 2000’s and I was awarded with so many uplifting songs of importance. I’m also into the other bands that mentioned as well! Other songs that I recommend for when you’re down or suffer from similar issues: The light - by disturbed (if you haven’t already) Epiphany - Stain’d :it’s about what ADD feels like and explains it perfectly Somebody, Somewhere - Korn Youth of a nation - P.O.D. (Personally, this is one of the most important songs ever written. It’s how dark reality for kids in America really is, regardless of economic backgrounds. It removes the stalemate politics and portrays the kids talked about humans with problems, not as problems themselves. If your going through some rough times in school, this song will help and remind you that every kid has problems. The
It's a great piece of music that shows depth between the 2 artists. And if your someone like me you'll like it as well. I like the way the drops are put in the song. This is a song that will never die. BC when I have a family KORN and SKRILLEX. Will be only a small selection that I will bring back into ma household.
:'( I nearly cried when I heard this song... I hate my life sometimes but I always say: Things are always up and down but they always come back around...
Life can be frustrating sometimes but you have to fight and keep moving forward. The real meaning of life is to keep positive while you are going through though times. Keep Positive everything will turn out just fine :)
sorry for annoying you but I don't hate my life but hate this world. I have this problem too. Sometime I want to kill myself too. When you see the truth of the life, you won't be same again (these are my words) and yeah, this is me. We can't see each other in real life but we can still talk if you want. Just tell me your feelings. Real life is full of scumbag but don't worry. There are still people like you and me exist in this world.
I have an aunt who used my family, she moved to Florida with her son (who i loved and i miss so much) and left her daughter to live with her nana. My family has money problems and she was supposed to help us out because she lived with us but she kept saying all these people take her money away so she cant pay us (and my mom was watching her son full time, bathed him, fed him, etc) and she was really buying stuff for herself. I Guess I cant say I hate my life, because I have a happy family, and we have fun even though were poor. But, people in this world are mean.. but I don't exactly want to die yet, unless it gets so bad. But, you don't have to be nice if you dont want to, but if you read this, thank you for your time.. :)
I love this song, probably just me but would like to see this song used with a video if the doom 2016 game, Everytime I see the doom fight like hell poster this song plays in my head, not sure why it just does
KORN should have or should offer Path of Totality strictly the pure numetal version, stripped of all the dubstep influence. Much like Cypress Hill did with one of their albums one cd was hip hop and the other were all the same tracks but rock version.
I love how whenever I feel like shit korn always brings me up, something about the grunge sounding guitar and the blunt message, just pumps the life back into me
In My Own personal opinion not only does this Song describe both the Anime Series: Tokyo Ghoul & it's Main Character: Kaneki Ken but it also describes My Life
When you feel really down and fucked up, just listen to korn. you can't be so fucked up that there isn't a korn-song that decribed them and makes you feel somewhat normal :)

People need to stop complaining about how slipknot made an album with Skrillex because sometimes bands just need to try something new for a while and if you like the band so much quit being a little be-atch about it Cuz they changed their style for a bit....
Funny fact everyone: I came here from wiki that explains about vox the hazbin hotel character and one of the songs I found a lot of songs that vivi pop listened to and I didn’t know if songs were real or not search one of song’s “narcissistic cannibal” and surprise I found this song on TH-cam and I’m not disappointed this song is actually pretty good and I really love it so ya that’s just what I wanted to explain how I found this song bye.
Every word of this song pertains to my life. I couldn't be happy if my life depended on it. Every time I turn around there's one fucking problem after another. I thank Jon for this song!❤👍💪👊
Learned about this from some EarlyRise cover someone posted the link to, in the comments of some Black Veil Brides or Green Day (not sure which) song I was listening to. I liked that one, but this? This I will remember. I will listen to this forever....

Like he had his Death Eaters, sexy ass Nagini that was like the most poisonous thing ever, his own spells ( _MORSMORDRE!_ the incantation to fire up the dark mark) and his precious Horcruxes. He also had the power to put the M.O.M (Ministry Of Magic) in confusion and disarray, the power tkill Dumbledore by the means of Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape and stuff. _Nothing could go wronnggggg_ well then why tf do I think of him everytime I hear this? Probably because of the helling song having...er... a sort of killing attitude even though I understand it as the aftermath of abuse? *Nah, it's just the pain of being a supreme Potterhead*
I like this, but I'd also like to hear a version without the dubstep just to see how they would do it. Great group feel it'd be a close match as to which version is better.

I think people are missing the point to this song

it's about the effects after abuse
people go on about abuse
but the effects and life after is torture and real
It's the effect of the abuse that makes you feel that way. Walking on pins n needles.
Yes! I agree!
""It's about me watching people who are so narcissistic destroy themselves. They basically eat themselves alive because of their narcissism. That's the gist of the story.""-Jonathan Davis
yea thats what I gathered about this song.. reminds me of my asshole BROTHER.
