I love hearing that Frank is as nice in person as he seems online. He always comes across as so genuine, so the fact he’s that way irl, makes me happy🥰
They both have exceptional music theory knowledge, and Rob has perfect pitch, so as soon as Frank plays a couple chords, Rob already knows what key they're in, the tempo they're playing at, the character/style, and has a decent idea of how the progression will go. Once he knows the key, he knows what's going to work, and what probably isn't. My friends and I used to sit around and jam like this for hours (not that we were ever this good), but it's actually very helpful for becoming a better player generally.
Hey man. I know I haven't said much in the last couple of months, but I always like and watch you, even when I simply lurk. It's good to see you back. I missed your reactions and shenanigans. Now, to answer a question you dropped... When frank improvises and rob jumps in, Frank starts with a chord, which sets the base key for a song. Rob then plays a melody that fits that chord. From any chord, there's a couple of typical chords that follow the chord you started with, usually following what is called the circle of fifths. It's easy to anticipate what to do with both the melody and the chords, when you're musicians of experience. They have both played for many years, and things like this becomes easier with experience. So to me it's not exactly magic, but it's still impressive how they seem to be so in tune with one another. Anyway, like most questions you ask that are "how do they do this?" the answer is again "music theory",
Thank you for reacting to Frank and Rob. They are both incredibly entertaining and talented and I love hearing that I'm not the only one who thinks that.
Yoo glad you're feeling better dude! Frank and Rob are some mighty talented folks. Also, Rob and Marcus just dropped a 5 song album of their most requested covers that they made in a pro ass music studio!
They usually go off the same scale, so the timing is ALWAYS the same, its just up to them what notes they want to add in. It always falls back to "1" which is where they will pick up or transition after each 4-4 or 3-4 or whatever theyre doing. Plus, you can just FEEL it :)
Yo. I know i'm 11 months late to this party but just wanted to say you're reactions to Frank are cool. He's hands down my favourite musician on youtube/twitch despite the amount of talented people out there. What makes it even better is you look to be an Eagles fan with the Dillard framed jersey. Keep pushing it and FlyEaglesFly 🦅
@12:12 Frank sets the tempo and the chords and Rob improvises a melody on that. He does mess things up sometimes but he corrects immediately, that is where you hear suspended notes.
Improving was one of my favorite things to do. Though I haven’t played in a very long time. Funny thing about improv is you can mess up but if you are slick enough you can make it seem like the odd note was meant to be there and the listener will be none the wiser. Of course if you just stay in the correct key you won’t get that odd note. I hit plenty of off notes doing improv but it was a much faster pace since it was jazz and yes you are playing off of one another.
Love Frank tedesco, glad to see more reactions. Need to go down the tommy Johansson rabbit hole start with you raise me up. Also hope you get over covid soon
You’re not the only one that got COVID at twitch con - ironically Frank also got COVID there! Hope you’re doing better now. Love the vids here in South Wales in the UK
From memory, the t-shirt was just a casual buy from Arizona and is not Frank merch. Frank does have a patreon though as of the first of October with content/material not on TH-cam.
It's not as hard as you think, apply knowledge with playing and most musicians who play an instrument will know how to play with another person, it's all about reading each other and knowing signals like a head nod for example to come to the final cadence. Moving your body to conduct or show rubato into a chorus for example. Isn't as ridiculous as it seems.
Welcome back buth if you want you should react to respawn inbox with mr sark and apl there is also with seananners and hutch buth i discovered them when it was apl and sark so im more of a fan of that duo

glad to have you back brother
I honestly think it's more along the lines of coordinations. At least that's some of the things they talk about in some of their other videos.😊

Rob started playing at 3 years old and he flash mobbed his fiance when he proposed to her

Improv music has a lot to do with staying in the same key and same tempo.
To play and do what they do is insanely difficult I was never good at sight reading
You should react to his interstellar cover with Marcus Veltri. Pretty beast
Welcome back.
