    Just some clarification from the Moses and Joseph movies:
    Joseph came before Moses, and during Joseph’s time, slavery wasn’t near as bad as in Moses’ time. The reason for this is because Joseph and his family(the Israelites) all moved to Egypt, and over the generations, they multiplied significantly. The pharaoh was afraid of the Israelites growing numbers, and that they’d take over Egypt, so he basically made them all slaves.
    So in Joseph, slaves were more seen as servants and workers, while in Moses, they were actively trying to oppress them by treating them poorly.

    Joseph's parents did make him what looks like a robe, but if you went to Parochial school, you would know that it's called "the coat of many colors". Even though it looks like it's just made to have a few colors, all supposed to stand out.
    Also, the point of Joseph King of Dreams' tone shift was because slave trades were prominent, but not as massive as the enslavement of the Hebrews in Exodus. Pontifar wanted a slave, but he's equally not violent or abusive to Joseph like in the biblical story. And later on, there was fear from the pharaoh Seti, that the Hebrews would take over Egypt, so he... well, you remember the Prince of Egypt.

      Genesis is packed with time flying by, so it's possible that not only different pharaohs from different regions, but also slavery could've been not as bad. In a Christian perspective, God was protecting Joseph through the time of being as a slave and with God providing visions to Joseph, it helped him get up in a higher position and to make the slavery not as bad... I think? XD Plus looking at the beginning of Exodus, literally the next Pharaoh, who didn't know about Joseph, was like "You know what, there's too many Hebrews around here. Let's kill them/put them into slavery" and literally screwed up the system that Joseph set up.
      Might not be totally accurate since it's been a while I've read Genesis XD

      Extinctanimals22 that’s because the Bible says that the Jews were originally invited to Egypt as honored immigrants, as Joseph interpreted the pharaoh’s dream. However, after that pharaoh died, his successor forgot all of what Joseph did and did the pro-gamer move of enslaving all of the Jews in Egypt, which lead to God telling Moses to free them.

    Actually, the Bible does state that both Pharaohs during Moses' time (unnamed, but most probably Seti and Rameses) were a lot more brutal than the pharaoh during Joseph's time. In fact, Joseph's pharaoh respected Joseph (being a slave and all) and his God for saving Egypt.
    As for biblical movies being harder to research than "talking animal films" you would be right, except that the policy for Dreamworks 2D films was having no talking animals at all to distance themselves from Disney. There are plenty of animal sidekicks and even a main character in Spirit, but not talking ones (that's for PDI and Aardman to do).

It made me cry multiple times throughout for different reasons, the first of which was from the jaw-dropping fluid animation just minutes into the film. Dreamworks blended 2D with 3D better than any anime today in 2022. I don't think I would have liked it as much as a kid, but I LOVE it in 2022! And I didn't mind Matt Damon's inner monologue for Spirit one bit, that's just you, man. It's just... such a shame what happened to the franchise after the movie, but at least it lived on(?)

    Joseph: King of Dreams is the absolute worse. Not even debatable.
    To this day I'm glad my parents took me to watch Road To El Dorado on the big screen, especially after learning it flopped.

      Good for u. I only watched road to Eldorado on vcr. But I rewatched it over and over again. That and treasure planet. Best movies to watch in rerun

    • @Falxifer95
      @Falxifer95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@comicnerd420 definitely, it breaks my heart those movies did poorly because in terms of just the animation alone 2D animation was on a whole different level in the late 90s and early 2000's.

    • @StarForce99
      @StarForce99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Even being the "absolute worst", it's still a pretty good prequel movie. Not worth the silver screen, but worth it as a DVD or VHS ofc.

    • @Falxifer95
      @Falxifer95 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TiffanyRay sorry. I also grew up on that movie but to me it's one of those childhood movies that the more I watch it the older I get the worse it gets. It's not awful but to me it feels like those early 90's bible cartoons but with more stylized animation, too whimsical for my taste.

    The way I see it, Dreamworks is a company caught between movies they want to make and movies they have to make (to fund the ones they want to make).
    This had the consequence of their brand lacking consistency and their 'serious' movies being diluted among the 'jokey' ones. Is Rise of the Guardians a genuine movie or an Avengers satire? From the trailer neither crowd could tell. Same with Megamind.
    So in 2013-ish when neither movie was making money they restructured hard into being the B-tier animated production they were stereotyped as being.

    I love the prince of Egypt. As a Christian, you know the story already. But even watching it, you still think that Ramses can change. But he won’t.
    Plus, I love the little added detail when Moses makes the River blood, the area around him is still water.
