Absolutely nice video man will you please see if you can do a three or four hour peer sound ASMR video of your truck and take it on the freeway cause that would be insanely cool stay safe man and have a great one. Thanks for sharing your videos.
You should give the throttle a little blip to rais the rpm on downshifts. Makes for much smother shifts and sounds cool too. Also whats about the fast you can do in 5th? 3:54 gearing right?
Is that the stock shifter? Seems like I have to really reach far to shift mine. Wonder if having a longer knob makes a difference or maybe I should cut it and make something longer
It's the stock shift lever but I just changed the knob out from the stock knob to a HURST pistol grip. It extends the height of the entire shifter probably a good 3 or 4 inches. It's at a pretty comfortable height for me and I really like the feel of the pistol grip and the aluminum.
Mic on the firewall and a mic clipped to the bed just above the exhaust. Might try and move the firewall mic to near the air intake filter and see what sounds I can get there.
Thanks! It's sitting at about 285 000kms on it right now, original engine, I swapped the auto to a 5spd manual. It's got a diamond eye exhaust 4" turbo back with a muffler and resonator.
@@OvensGarage lol - I’m watching your guided tour video of your truck right now - excellent tour and very cool truck. I’m looking for a 12 valve Cummins for myself.
@@OvensGarage I’m very tempted by the 12V in an F600 or freightliner FL60, but they aren’t nearly as nimble as a 1st gen Dodge! I just sold a 24v Cummins s with NV5600 that I really didn’t enjoy. @@JO-fk1bg it wont hurt them if you do it correctly. I never did understand why people believe that it ruins a trans. I have a 96 s10 factory clutch and trans floated it ever since I bought it. Nothing grinds and it's got 220k miles.
how many kms are you averaging per tank? my low fuel light comes on exactly at 75 liters used. Usually when i fill up even though theres quite a bit left lol.
@@OvensGarage do you know how many liters your getting for 600?, im getting 600km for 75 liters, leaves me with 37 left, which would be 300 more, 8-900kms a full tank.
@@OvensGarage thats interesting, im starting to wonder if 37 inch tires are actually better for fuel economy, thats what im on im getting better mileage now then when i was on 35s
This transmission has over 500,000 kms on it, and I haven't had any issues with it. You have tips for driving would love to hear the way you would drive it.
@@OvensGarage blip the throttle on downshift so you don't have to hold it against the synchro so long. Even better, double clutch down. The Getrag will slip into gear like butter.

You drive that truck a lot better then when you took my car around the block a few years ago. Can’t find them grind them. Lol.
LOL
No way i saw you driving this truck the other day!
Hard to miss :P
Nice video yet again!
Thanks again!

yeah i also rev match my 93 5 speed, feels terrible not rev matching
I'll give it a shot for the next vid. I haven't really done it much before. I don't usually go anything over 110km/h
I'll try it out!
@@OvensGarage Cool. Its also a little easier on the drive train and clutch

That’s a really nice truck! How many Km’s on it? And is the engine still original or is it rebuilt? It sounds great. What exhaust?

Its nice to float but i wouldnt recommend it since these transmissions have synchronizer.
