Magnificent. I can see that they used the original death mask, adding small details to render her more youthful and alive.
Richie Beck I can’t understand the death mask, how was it done, when, why, who did it, and for what? I just can’t find anything talking about it! I just find pictures but no information at all! Do you know something about it?
@@alexiacordeiro8741 madame t. Made it when Marie Antoinette died, when they cut her head
Alexia - What Ernesto said. Madame Tussaud was tasked with molding the faces of many of those killed during the French Revolution. From what I've read, she would sometimes have to be present for the execution, or they'd bring the head to her, but in some cases she'd have to go to where the body and head were dumped. There's a book by Michelle Moran titled 'Madame Tussaud - A Novel of the French Revolution,' if you're interested. A good book; I enjoyed it!
@@alexiacordeiro8741 read up on Madame Marie Tussaud, she created death masks for many and took great care for accuracy.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!! LONG LIVE QUEEN MARIE ANTOINETTE OF FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a really great job. One of the best (life-like) I've ever seen.
They should make another one to display at versailes
R.i.p queen of all of France.
This has to be closest to what she actually looked like 😍
Long live the former Habsburg Archduchess of Austria and Queen of France.
Super waxarbeit ,wie immer bei Madame Tussaud!!!!
I was the model for this waxwork!! It was an amazing experience xxx
LOL NO TRUE!!!!! They made it in London in May 2015!!!
That's awesome! So cool!!!
no, it was me. :P
J L-S They need a live person to stand and pose so they have a body reference while sculpting. Marie Antoinette's head was then sculpted based on her death mask and her surviving portraits.
Your highness Marie Antoinette ❤❤❤
who's that mooron with the dog taking a selfie so close to the wax figure...
Es hermoso!
Amazing. I am sure that this is pretty much how she looked. When she was alive the peasants would not have been allowed anywhere near her.

Hätte sie sich nur von der Prinzessin meiner Heimatstadt retten lassen wer weiß wie es dann ausgegangen wäre
Die Musik passt ja mal garnicht dazu. grauenvoll!!!
she wasn’t that tall .
Questa statua sembra una donna vera in vita tedesca sembrava una dei tanti soggetti travestiti per la rappresentazione. È incredibilmente realistica in modo inquietante.
Well, at least she is historically the most world famous historical Queen of France and the most famous Habsburg Princess ever married abroad, whose loose luxurious party life style with her private life preferring living style together avoiding her Royal duties and rebelling against the traditional role of the Queen of France made her an epic history legend. After all though her money spending as "madam deficit" her real crime was to be an Austrian Habsburg Princess as the Queen of France, because many people in France, the French elite and even some relatives of the French Royal Bourbon family thought commonly that the Austrian Empire was the historical arch enemy of France in Continental Europe. Then especially after the King Louis XVI, who was since the beginning very weak and politically idiotic and stupid monarch with childish teenager boy´s mind and a good appetite, practically got some kind of mental breakdown when he tried to fight against him all the time more and more openly rebelling French nobility, some members of the Royal Bourbon family included, the Queen Marie Antoinette practically began more and more to use political power without any kind of political competence, experience and intelligence, usually favouring her home country the Austrian Empire, that began really irritate first the French elite at the huge Palace of Versailles and soon in all the time more and more rebellious Paris and on the many other areas in France, where local wealthy bourgeois class, which had became more wealthy than the French nobility, wanted more political power in France. Marie Antoinette was anyway an eccentric way modern woman during her era in France. She commonly disliked the during that time commonly dirty, unhygienic and stinking and against her hostile French aristocracy, French elite commonly and during that time very dirty and stinking the huge main Palace of Versailles. She liked to take a bath every day and she ordered to build for her modern British style WC-rooms to Versailles. Queen Marie Antoinette and her husband King Louis XVI and their children took too the Smallpox vaccine because Marie Antoinette demanded it. She liked to spend her time in her own created fairy tale world in the Little Trianon Palace at the huge Park of Versailles living loose careless life style there with her small trusted young, beautiful and frivolous men and women elite people inner circle and she banned the Versailles Court´s official highest aristocracy hierarchy´s access to her romantical fairy tale world. Even her husband the King Louis XVI of France had access only if the Queen Marie Antoinette had invited him. Don´t wonder why the wild rumours began to rise first at Versailles, then in Paris and soon all around the Kingdom of France. Queen Marie Antoinette ordered too to built the19th century and early 20th century (National) Romantical ara style Normandian style countryside village/farm house during the late 18th century to the Park of Versailles, where she liked to play a country farm house matron, even personally milking cows using her own hands and doing many kind of farm house activities, and to enjoy idyllic and romantic countryside life with her young, beautiful, rich and frivolous friends inner circle and without from her point of view dull, boring and against her hostile dirty and stinking the Royal French Court official aristocracy hierarchy people, who commonly didn´t like to take baths during that time and the Versailles Palace commonly didn´t have WC and bathrooms and the huge commonly during that time dirty and stinking palace was too cold especially during winter time because there were not proper heating systems either. She liked too to play theatre roles as an actress at Versailles. Queen Marie Antoinette was a partly feministic woman, who strongly favoured for example female art painting, female fashion design etc. Her money spending to French fashion and design actually built the base of the world famous French fashion industry and the fashion seasons. Though her money spending and loose party life style with young, rich and beautiful people, she surely was not behind the bad condition and bankrupt of the French State finances. One money spending little eccentric loose life style "party girl" as the Queen of an European historical superpower country like for example the historical Kingdom of France can´t cause any kind of financial problems if the State governing bureaucracy works well and is well organized without corruption. The Royal wedding of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI was by the way the many weeks lasting serie of big, expensive and bombastic parties since the Princess, Archduchess, Maria Antonia of the Austrian Empire, crossed the French border and changed her name to Princess Marie-Antoinette of France, when the two rivalling Continental European superpowers, the Kingdom of France and the Austrian Empire wanted to show how powerful and wealthy superpowers they were, when those their royal/imperial teenagers married. Europe had never seen that kind of bombastic, expensive and luxurious Royal wedding parties since the collapse of the ancient Roman Empire. The end of this historical royal story was darker, violent and tragic, not a fairy tale story at all, though it is a part of the legend of the Queen Marie Antoinette of France, the most famous and the historically most fascinating and interesting Queen ever in France. Marie Leszczynska, who was the Queen of France (Queen consort) as the wife of the King Louis XV of France before Marie Antoinette said before she died that "she had never seen any happy day in her life since she became the Queen of France". Don´t wonder why the young Queen Marie Antoinette, full of natural Austrian style joy of life, was so rebellious against the traditional role of the Queen in France and why she commonly disliked the huge French Versailles Court, which was commonly since she arrived from Vienna hostile against her. The Austrian Habsburg Dynasty´s family life style was totally different, including much more privacy, though the Austrian Empire´s palaces were as impressive and as luxurious as the French Royal Palaces. It was totally normal that for example her mother, the Empress Maria Theresa of the Austrian Empire, personally sometimes made for example breakfast for her family and their family life was commonly full of privacy compared to the French Royal Court at the Palace of Versailles, which the King Louis XIV of France, "the Sun King", who since his traumatic childhood deeply hated French aristocracy, once built to be a massive scale jail for the French aristocracy conspiring all the time against him. Don´t wonder why he didn´t want to build sewerage systems, heating system, WC and bathrooms and kitchens to the apartments there to make their living there nice and comfortable.
Thanks, that was very interesting!
Facts a lot of courtiers of louis the 14ths time we’re always looking to over throw him so why would he make their live comfortable with bathrooms 😂 he was clever now that you mention it. Make a giant prison and make everyone fight over you.
