Long live the king of synths. So great we have these clips of him. He was full of enthusiasm right to the finish.

I'm so grateful for this mans vision. I love my Take 5 and now I'll probably never let it go.

    Thanks for uploading this interview.
I'm the happy owner of a P-12; Pro 2; OB-6 desktop and Tempest. It's bittersweet for me to cast my mind over the last 20 years of synth collecting, and to remember the passing of the Wizard, but I'll keep these instruments for life, and hopefully one day I'll add a few more synths from this legendary company.

God rest ye, merry gentleman. Such a massive legacy. My late brother bought a Prophet-5 from Dave in 1980. $5k. Whew. I had it in y possession in the late 80s for several years. His widow has it and I know it has need of repair. I need to go fetch that beast and get it refurbished. Nothing like it!

Such sad news when Dave passed. Thank you for releasing this, among the latest in-depth interviews he gave. When he talks (at 14:50-15:45) about the PRO 3, I can’t help but think that the covid & lockdown bad timing probably hindered the way that particular synth was received by the general public. I believe it will go down as one of Dave’s finest addition to the Pro legacy. At 72 he can’t hide his excitement about designing, creating, interacting with musicians & synth nerds, going to Superbooth. This NAMM won’t be the same without him. So long, Dave, and thanks for all the synths.

While obviously unintentional at the time seeing Dave talk about his work with a backdrop of people talking about synths, while he's underscored by the occasional electronic sound, is genuinely beautiful to see. He was surrounded by his legacy at the end and it's one that will last a very long time.

Legend! I will miss this guy. He was ground breaking with the inventions and innovations he did in the synth world. I think I heard in the background someone trying some Depeche Mode, Just Can't Get Enough. Was this one of the last video interviews prior to his passing?
