I give Tim props honestly, trying to nail a nick Johnston solo nearly exactly is just suicide. People don’t understand the caliber of some of this work
watching this back shows how much scott has improved live. and not just scott, the whole band has improved their live performance playing. it's really great to see.
these guys are amazing. the criticism in the comments are the dude who couldn't play 3 riffs on the album. hard to imagine that this shit is hard right keyboard warriors?
Also its not clear in any video if they can have a really good live sound. With two guitars doing harmonies and just bass playing you can miss a lot of punch
@@abhaysharma5072 Oh well if John Mayer said it then that must be true! He also called his penis a "white supremacist" when asked if black fans throw themselves at him and compared it to David Duke, previous leader of the Ku Klux Klan. So yeah, maybe quote someone else.
@@Chase-qr5sg wtf you meannnnn, where the fuck did you see it bro?? It doesn't make sense though. In his L.A. live concert there's a black guy that plays with him
haha exactly. Even the most elite musicians make mistakes sometimes. The real trick is being able to immediately compensate so that nobody except you, the player, notices.
I wish the new live video of "Look But Don't Touch" was done here. Much better camera work and audio. This band has definitely elevated guitar playing (the bassist & drummer as well) to the next level. Curious as to what band(s)/musicians set this all in motion. This has (especially the newer songs) lots of spices in the mix which could easily become, all style/no substance, kind of thing. I'm truly intrigued to where this go.
Holy fuck, I was wondering what you meant and then the 0.25 second mark hit.... Jesus fuck that is the worst drum mastering I've ever heard in my life.
it looks like the poor dudes are cracking under pressure or something. this is one of their best songs on that record and they're slipping up their solos in places. maybe they're just tired? i dunno. i expected better of them lol, but it's cool to see that they're still human and that they make mistakes sometimes
After a while or maybe never you stop caring about if someone fucks up, I know metal is always like that... but music just wants that groove thats it. Its jsut missing in this song, or it cant be replicated on stage with without more guitarists or synth
yukang su I think that could be cool live but in the studio I think they’re fine. Some of their live performances, such as this one, don’t live up to the studio recording so it’s easy to think they need a third guitar when you see them live. But on their tracks two guitars is perfect. And they’ve always been a two guitar band and Scott and Tim have been friends since high school so it would be hard to find a new guitarist anyway, especially one that would live up to their ever-changing style.
I give Tim props honestly, trying to nail a nick Johnston solo nearly exactly is just suicide. People don’t understand the caliber of some of this work

The entry of Scott's solo is so stylish and sexy!!!
man they’re good
..that grindy bass tone,..yes?,....yes
This version is one of the coolest!! Has a spacey vibe and I return to watch it for this very reason!!😊
