- truly hope yall enjoy the video, I think this animatic is one of my most... "experimental" works, I guess. But it turned out pretty cool! :D

When he says "oh, ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" but it's the darkness deep down inside of him whispering things!! Oh my heart
uhmmm thats actually the whole message of the musical. The creator of this music 100% aggress with "ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves"
It is a message that means it is *good* to do ruthless and arguably unethical things for the people you have responsibilities too. (your family.)
It is the direct opposite philosophy of "don't kill the badguy just throw him in jail" crap that batman spouts all the time.
@@BenjaminAlternate but they also show that's not always the best play. With Circi for example, he shows her some understanding, and restraint, and so they both survive and she shows them the way to the underworld for help.
Same with the wind god, he goes asking for a hand, and so they're like "yeah sure".
It's not pure brutality, it's selectively chosing when and where to use this anger. Which I like quite a bit.
@@thomass2505 I don't think they get the deeper implications of what this means for Odysseus and his character as a whole. It means the man who he was when he first met Tiresias will not be the same man who makes it home, as all but stated in the previous song.
And keep in mind they bring up Batman's philosophy and call it "crap". Even though not wanting to become a monster is EXACTLY why Batman has that philosophy. We even got two major event comics and multiple story arcs featuring the worst version of that monster as a main antagonist.
But the biggest issue is the lack of literacy. He doesn't get that this is arguably part of a tragedy if he thinks the creator of the song "100% agrees with 'ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves'". As you said, mercy with Circe is what earned him the chance to travel to the Underworld for help.
Precisely what @Catalyst375 said, it goes far deeper than just “oh well the moral of the musical is kill all your enemies so stop saying that’s a bad thing” because no???
Not only are there examples showing this is not an absolute principle to follow, just think for a second. If everyone abided by “ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves, I’ll be awful to others for the sake of making things easier for myself”, that’s no way to live, you’ll burn all your bridges before you build them, not to mention anyone who abides by such a philosophy can just as easily hurt you because everyone’s only looking out for their best interests. Even if it was meant to be portrayed as an absolute principle to follow, there’s still instances within the musical itself that debunk this philosophy as a constant.
It’s character development, but quite honestly it’s almost downwards character development (in what world is the guy singing about throwing a baby off a wall morally enlightened) and there is certainly the whole present theme of it no longer being him, of the harsh acts of war and conflict and death scarring and changing this man into someone numb to causing death. I would agree that there are definitely instances where it’s appropriate to do away with the enemy, but embracing it as a principle across the board is not a good thing.
@@BenjaminAlternate "100% agrees" is a bit of a stretch. Even when talking about the way Odysseus' character develops, Jorge Rivera-Herrans says that the lesson Odysseus is learning is that "we must have the CAPACITY for ruthlessness," not that "ruthlessness is always correct." Even in just the first act we see how sometimes ruthlessness is the wrong tactic: with Aeolus (the wind god), simply asking politely for her help was enough; with Circe, even though she cursed Odysseus' men and he HAS the strength to oppose her, choosing mercy and kindness- and asking for mercy in return- is what gets her to help. Sometimes, ruthlessness IS mercy upon ourselves, but sometimes mercy upon others is mercy for all.
AHHHHHH THE HEADBAND SYMBOLISM!!!!! He no longer is going to greet the world with open arms like polities. This animatic was positively breathtaking you have so much talent. THE COLOR SYMBOLISM *chefs kiss*
IT. WAS. PERFECT.
HOLY FUCK WAIT WAIT WAIT... SEEING THE WORLD IN BLACK OR WHITE LIKE THATS SO FREAKING GOOD OH GODS GIGI YOU GENIUS
YOOOO I SAW THAT AND KNEW IT WAS SIGNIFICANT AND YOU PUT IT IN WORDS SO WELL
I want Odysseus to do some brutal shit that would make Polites turn away in disgust.
@@foolslayer9416oh just wait for the final saga. 🦖
LOVE the fact that the “monster” he sees himself as is the same one that the infant would have turned into all the way back from “Just a Man”!! ❤❤❤
Ohhh I didn't even notice this! I remembered the reflection in the mirror, but you're right that he became what he tried to prevent. Oh my gosh.
not really he because the thing in the mirror , the child was spikyer , only had a white outline , and was hench.
odysseus's monster is just pure black with only white eyes , no extra detail unlike the child
@@FlintsForge6931 its the figure he sees in the mirror when he first asks "when does the man become the monster?"
@ya3_m1k03 yes , the design is 1 to 1
1. Polities's broken glasses😭
2. Love Ody making a deal with his dark half
3. The end with the pupils in the darkness, a very very nice touch
Time stamps ?
2. is 2:44
3. is between 3:30 and 3:31
I couldn't find 1. sorry about about that 😅
@@DoubleAgent05 1. is at 1:14
Thx
If I remember they have shown it as pupils in the darkness for both a monster version, and as an Ares version. I like to see the idea of the soldier being taken into Ody is him taking in Ares patronage since Athena has abandoned him now (At least in his perception)
Love that Odysseus and his adversaries are initially shown as malevolent shadowy figures, but are shown clearly and humanely after he reasons why they do what they do.
You're right! And then Odysseus' monster version stays shadowy till the end of his verse, since Ody sees the qualities of his opponents that makes them more human, but is unable to do the same with his own actions!
At 2:04 we can see this monster bending down almost in half and is about the size of Odysseus showing the monster is much taller than Odysseus which to me is giving Athena vibes especially with the helmet showing how the warrior of the mind ideology and the monster ideology are very close to being exactly the same.
I'm pretty sure that IS supposed to be athena, or at least her ideology
It makes them seem far more dangerous than him. And it's like his shadow as well. So it seems bigger in comparison
At 2:43 we can see the shadow stand straight up and its height is almost similar to Odysseus, which symbolizes that the monster is basically Odysseus. He just avoided it always and now he's embracing it as his identity
PLEASE THE PART WHERE HE LAYS DOWN IN THE PUDDLE WITH HIS REFLECTION THAT'S MEANT TO SYMBOLIZE HIM SEEING IS MONSTER SELF AND HE DROWNS IN IT AND HIS MEMORIES DHDJFJJFJDJFJ
I don't know why, but Odysseus rowing to the beat just hits something in my brain. As does Odysseus' reflections becoming the monster
this is ALL gorgeously done but i'm SO enamored by 2:39 - 2:45, just the scene of Odysseus standing at the edge of the wall transitioning into his darker self holding out an open hand (perfectly conveying the release of his hand from dropping the infant too!!) and Odysseus then taking its hand--well. it's fucking INSANE and i LOVE IT SO MUCH. like hooooOoo my god
GOD. The expression work?? The pallete change???? EVERYTHING???? You've OUT DONE yourself
You’re a monster for making everyone wait two days for such an epic animatic.
Can’t wait to see it.😊
5 stars! This animatic represents the feeling of the song perfectly and I love it! Great job!
This is very well made but also I can’t help but imagine the crew watching from the ship as Odysseus dances around singing his heart out with no music and non of the dramatic visuals
Gigi, Gigi, Gigi… the broken glasses next to the cyclops’s sheep?!?! Penelope taking the headband off of Odysseus’s head because to get to her he needs to not greet the world with open arms anymore?! MY HEART!!
this is briliant! :( /pos
Ooooo!! Gigi, you've outdone yourself with "I am a monster rawr rawr rawr " so I'm EXTREMELY hyped for this ❤❤❤❤❤
2:14 is soooo sadddd 😢😢😢😢
Gods if this gets a stage adaptation seeing Odysseus do a duet dance with the black leotard monster would be just awesome and so evocative
And as a bonus thing, if the monster every time they’ve been visualized in the live show is adorned with a black cape/shawl and a black helm, if during this dance they gradually give their costume pieces to Odysseus to signify his transformation into the monster and on the last “I’ll become the monster” kneel to him with his new arraignments as that horn blast sounds. I think that would be awesomely evocative for the finale of act 1
Please never stop making animatics for this musical, yours have been the best by far. I love every single one great job.
0:30 this reminds me of that one scene in puss in boots
HOLY SHIT THE VISUALS??? THE WAY THE SHADOWS FALL OVER ODY'S FACE AFTER ACCEPTING WHAT HE MUST DO??? PENELOPE RIPPING OFF THE HEADBAND??? AAAAAAH?????
Yes! I can't wait to see this! I absolutely love your version of Epic character designs!
my favorite part is when he says "it's monstering time" and he monstered all of the threats.
now seriously speaking, this is one of the greatest animatics of all time, and the way you captured the contrasts between emotions and the internal transformation of Odysseys was just perfect. Congratulations, i will show this video to all of my friends!
Every time I feel depressed I come back to this source of serotonin. This is just perfection, a work of art, a display of both talent and years of practice. You, my good sir/ma'am, are one of my favorite artist in all time. Such a masterpiece should be in a museum.
All that aside, damn I can't stop rewatching, the hand holding the baby tight becoming the one outstrached to make the deal, symbolizing that he not only let go, he's also embracing the monster. So good. Chills, literally chills. (it was number five, number five killed *the baby*- omg i forgot about that part) .
Also I loved how you portrayed Circe's part, the way she was crying and then looking up, a resolved look, willing to do anything for her nymphs (even if she has to become the monster, the villain, the witch), similar to what Odysseus ends up doing in the song- I just love parallels.
Keep up the excellent work! I love you!
(even tho you destroyed me with Polites glasses)
The flow and visuals of this animatic were just GORGEOUS! Every symbolic thing you put in here made it cut that much deep, and you did such a good job of personifying his mentality shift. Plus, i love how you portrayed the people in his life. AND THAT HEADBAND 😭
i love how you did 2:44, just all the parts with his reflection honestly
I love all the images of odysseus's reflections especially since this song is all about him reflecting on his action. Such a cool detail❤❤
"People don't understand the word ruthless. They think it means 'mean.' It's not about being mean. It's about seeing the bright, clear line that leads from A to B. The line that goes from motive to means. Beginning to end. It’s about seeing that bright, clear line and not caring about anything but the beautiful fact that you can see the solution. Not caring about anything else but the perfection of it."
This is basically this musical's Defying Gravity
Wow.
Oh.
My.
Goodness.
I surely wasn’t prepared for such a great, powerful, beautiful, strong animatic ! The part where he really becomes the monster just blew my mind…i’m obsessed ! 😱❤️
Am I the only one that imagines him talking to Polites during this song? Like, he's legit talking to Polites, and Polites starts off trying to comfort him, but breaks into tears as he realizes that Odysseus is chooses to become the monster.
It's the right choice for Odysseus, but I feel like it would break Polites' heart.
I love how Ody is completely red in the thumbnail with the shadow from the Horse and The Infant animatic you made behind him. :D
idk the words for it, but the sketchy sort of way you drew the monsters making their breathing look so ragged was really fucking cool LOL they looked so ominous
I love who your depiction of ‘the monster’ is the same figure he saw back in the mirror in just a man!! That’s an amazing callback to the start of the series
I can't stop rewatching this, especially the part where he embraces the monster, it's so well-done. Amazing job!
The visuals of Odysseus accepting himself as the monster gave me chills. Gigi, one of your best works, congratulations! 👏👏
oh man. all the reflection work. when he shook hands with his other self and they were warping together. WHEN SHE PULLED OFF POLITIES' HEADBAND
Kinda like she was giving him permission, wasn't it?
The transition from the shadow dropping the baby to offering his hand was beautiful!
Chills man actual chills when the beat dropped and he accepted in becoming the "Monster"
Yooo this is sick!!!! I love your animations, the difference in having the "monstrous" versions be static (more or less) and blocked out versus just the line art and their movements (especially Circe) make them human, it was awesome! Wonderful work!
This one hits DIFFRENT
This is heartbreaking; a genuine tragedy. And the saddest part? Odesseus' fatal flaw is really just bad luck. The man has a good heart, but this journey--this world--seems determined to grind that heart into dust. Ever since The Horse & the Infant, he has been pushed, threatened and convinced to commit heinous acts he doesn't want--and shouldn't have--to do. And why?
"I have a reputation.
"I have a name to uphold.
"I can't go and let you walk or the world forgets I'm cold."
Because no one believes in any form of trust that isn't based in fear of retribution. And so, the cycle of violence perpetuates in a self-fulfilling prophecy. If Odysseus *had* succeeded; if he *had* gotten away with sparing his antagonists, then it would have proven them all wrong for their own crimes. Circe, Polyphemus, the gods, they all would have an example that shows that there is no excuse or justification for their resorts to violence; that there was a better way and they were no better than whatever opposition they feared.
I'M INTERNALLY SCREAMING IT LOOKS SO COOL
THE WATER BEING A CONSTANT REMINDER IF THE LESSON THAT POSEIDON TRIED TO GAVE HIM-
My bro was so done that he stole his leimotif
2:34 this whole animation sequence is INSANE . The camera work is just so good
I just realized every time you draw him seeing Telemachus, you draw him as a baby despite him being nearly an adult at this point… because that’s how Odysseus remembers him 🥹
You light transition at 0:46 was FANTASTIC!!!
The montage of his foes 🤌🏻
Odysseus taking on “the monster” Beautiful!
Was Penelope taking off Polites’ headband off Odysseus’ head?
If yes, excellent touch!
2:43 The 'monster' extends out its left hand for odysseus to shake, but instead of reciprocating with his left, he brings his right hand which would smack the monster's wrist instead.
Odysseus isn't just accepting what he is and spiralling into a monster when he pulls it into himself. He is subjugating that monster and wearing its skin.
This is amazing portrayal of the lyrics amazing work *claps*
I love the part where he quickly grasp its hand and absorb it into himself
When we're young, we start out with ignorance and innocent's. But as we grow, that ignorance and innocent slowly wash away and is replaced with guilt and knowledge. This is especially true for those who work in certain jobs or leadership roles who take things seriously. Or is put in certain positions in life where we must make difficult and hard decisions.
Such as choosing one life over another, saving one life over the many, and so on. Can you make the choices any of these people have made? In myths, in our books, or are show's? Can you really say that you're willing to save someone at the risk of your own life? Will you do some very horrible things just to save others lives that you care about? Sometimes being a Hero, a Villain, and a Monster are actually the same thing. Because doing the RIGHT THING sometimes means doing the WRONG THING with the right intentions. And that there wasn't no other option you could see in that very moment. That's the Truth of things.
Gigi, again, what an animation. Every detail we always get to comment about the song or even the musical, you show it to us in such beautiful way that we get more than surprised. You're so talented and I'm so glad to see your perspective and your improvement in every single video. Thank you ❤
The resting his head on Penelope's lap is such a beautiful moment. Like the music softens, he seems defeated, then she rips off the headband and he's right back to angry. So beautiful
You're making us wait two days? Ngl, I'd say you're in the wrong for that one
Can't wait to see it ^u^
The final note being a blast of trumpet (Poseidons instrument) fading to distorted electric guitar (Odysseus’s cunning side) with the scratchy white eyes of his inner monster appearing one last time made me physically recoil in my chair. The way you paired that instrumental motif with a final haunting image works perfectly to represent how simultaneously jarring and ominous the ending is, it’s genius 🤩
this animation is so smooth it's honestly breathtaking. Continue the great work love your animatics
I think you're allowed to call animations at this point. Animatic seems like an undersell for this.
Omg you made it look soooo good! You’re my favorite animator! Defense worth the wait! 10 out of 10 I totally recommend!
Oh my gosh this is AMAZING. I love everything about this! It just shows the thought process within Odysseus and how conflicted he was. You really brought out the feeling of him being tugged in two directions and his resolve to protect those he cares about. This is AMAZING!
Okay that whole sequence where he spins around on the sails is just. WOW. Your animatics are always so astounding, they have this special charm about them that is just so undoubtedly yours. I'm in love.
Also he's truly such a Disney princess, singing his heart out at his reflection in the water
edit: so I kind of had an epiphany and I'm not sure if it's just me coping or not, but is it possible that Jorge is having the musical treat ruthlessness as a virtue not because he actually believes it's a virtue but to show us that this is the man the suitors are trying to screw with, they are willing to pick a fight with a man who has fully gone into the belief that ruthlessness is a virtue (since it's not come out yet I don't know if they think there's a chance that he's alive, but so far in the Odyssey, it seems like they're ambivalent about his chances of returning, 'he might be alive but if he dares to come back to his own Palace and try to kill us we have the numbers so we can murder him" and Jorge has sort of used odysseus's descent into ruthlessness to show us how stupid that idea is( another reason he could be having the musical praise the virtue of ruthlessness is because ruthlessness really was treated like a virtue in ancient times, and today)
Gosh, I've never been so in love with an animatic since YEARS. This is so perfect! The way it's so dynamic + rhythmic is so speechless! Full of symbolism and emotions.
My favorite part is when he accepts the handshake. It got me real chills with so much smoothness and intensity that part was!
HOLY this gave me this chills at the part where he accepts that he will become a monster.
The hand he takes is Ares isn't it ? That would make so much sense considering while Athena is the Godess of War with brain with Relent and intelligent moves, Ares is war for War sake, kill for the killings sake for the fun the rage and the bloodlust. So in pleging himself to Ares that's woud definitely get him more Monstrous.
Notice how from 1:08 to 1:50 the first questions portrays the cyclops/witch/god in the monster color pallete only to reveal the true colors in every other question analyzing the same situantions from the "monster" pov
The chills… this song already hit on a different level as a major turning point but the way you CAPTURED IT!!!! THE MOMENT OF HIM GRABBING HIS DARK SIDE AND THEM MERGING!!! The flashing back and forth as his darker monster is embraced instead of denied! Visual poetry, pure art! Phenomenal animation!!!
I love the smile Polyphemus makes. Its just cute/nice 🙂 1:17
I love the way you use the environment for his reflection💖
Also they way you draw those foes they had encountered with soft expressions and tragic moments
To convey their emotions is just perfect🤌🤌🤌🤌
I normally don’t comment on videos, but this is legitimately *amazing*. You are such a talented animator, I mean that genuinely. The shot where Odysseus shakes the Monster’s hand? *So* smooth. I can’t imagine how much effort and practice it must have taken to get this good, but it definitely shows. Every frame feels seamless, especially for a relatively low frame rate, and when you transition to a more ‘slideshowy’ style it feels intentional and impactful. The vocals are amazing on their own but your drawings elevate the whole experience- you can feel Odysseus’s desperation and regret in everything. This is a masterpiece.
The smoothness of the animation, the choreography, all the emotions you captured SO. DAMN. WELL! GOOSEBUMPS.
Dude, the ammount of times I got chills watching this is absolutely insane. I freaking LOVE the shots of the cyclops, Circe, and Posiedon, showing their "cruel" acts, vs how they feel in the aftermath. This was brilliant👌
Holy hell Gigi youve outdone yourself ONCE AGAIN im just so incredibly in AWE
I just absolutely adore how the design of the monster strips away all of the expression on his face and essentially erases his emotions mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm DELICIOUS
This hits so hard the animations really make it true 💯
THE ANIMATION AT THE THIRD CHORUS AHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH ♥
I keep relistening/rewatching this genius but I'm always struck by the choice in the outro to start as "I became a monster", it gives me chills every time
holy SHIT!!!!!! this is AMAZING OMG. the whole thing is fantastic but the way you took the turning point in the song and amplified it in the animation has me SHOOK and SO IMPRESSED. my jaw DROPPED at that handshake moment and it stayed on the floor for the rest of the video!!! i LOVE the visual symbolism of the Soldier on the Wall and how odysseus has pushed him away up til this point, but now he decides to invite him in. how he takes over his reflection, how he's there in his eyes and at his back for the rest of the video. dropping the baby turning into a handshake--BRILLIANT. the color palette switch!!!! that black and white was SO POWERFUL. and the way everything became harsh and choppy and violent and red... there's so much to love and so much to say. i'm genuinely in awe. fantastic work, thank you so much for sharing this video!!
You captured the essence of the song masterfully, and his compromise is even more potent as you see him take on the pact just for the assurance he'll get home again. 😭
i love how epic rewrote the odyssey just so that odysseas is no longer seen as a great hero but as a broken villian
holy shit. Him losing polites' bandana so that he can become the monster *chefs kiss*
You dropped this 👑
I bow to you.
2:42 The way Odysseus' shadow manifested the *moment* he lets the infant go but *also* freezes perfectly for him to *now* shake its hand and accept the fact that its always been there is SO UNBELIEVABLY GOOD I'M OBSESSED
Oh my goodness this was insane I don’t even have words. The call back to Just a Man and taking that monster into himself absolutely stunning I got chills
I LOVE how you (maybe unknowingly) drew the fusion (acceptance?) of the "Monster" like the shade from Hallow Knight being absorbed, and how it shows as overlaying with him similar to when the shade flashes in during upgraded abilities (in Hallow Knight)
AAAH THIS IS SO COOL!!! im always blown away by ur animatics, thank you so much for them!
I got actual chills from this song!
Monsters are not all evil. They had to learn to survive in hardship.
The fact that “Penelope” rips Polites’ headband thingy TO SHOW THAT ODYSSEUS WILL FINALLY STOP FOLLOWING POLITES’ WORDS😭😭😭😭
I love the sequence when he makes the deal with his dark self and the clours change for the moment. I repeated it three times
so i noticed that many others plus gigi draws this location @ 3:03 many of times with the bed and the tress hanging over it. I know its from his homeland but what is the importance of it? i read the original once but it was in my freshman year and I don't remember tbh LOL
Its their bed that Odysseus made for her as a wedding gift and him being aware of it is what she used as the final trick to see if Odysseus truly was who he said he was iirc
Absolutely adore the work that went into this!
I barely dare to imagine how much time it must have taken.
Hope to see more work from the Epic musical, and again very very well done
This had some amazing artwork and transitions!!! Was such a delight to watch.
Especially that scene just before he shakes hands with his dark shadowy self 🤌
SO WORTH THE WAIT!!! The animation and the symbolism were EVERYTHING!
This was amazing. One of my favorite shots was with Circe. Several people I've seen show her either fighting Oddesyus in that line, or winning a fight against other invaders. Seeing her in a scene where she lost a fight, and the realizing she had to be more cruel to the world to protect the people she cares about is an amazing portrayal. And the moment where Odysseus sang the " Then I'll become the monster line" looked like a full on animation to me, with lipsinking and everything! I also like the scene where someone sacrificed an animal to Posideon, showing rbat he didn't just myrder Odysseus's fleet for funnsies (well, maybe a little) he did it because he's A GOD with a job. He kinda has to punish people who defy him. I also loved when Odysseus imagined Penelope and Telemacus, and Telemacus was still a child, as Odysseus doesn't even know how old he is now, he only ever knew him as an infant. Overal, absolutely amazing animatics. Possibly one of the best I've seen.
Oh this one is the best one I’ve seen for this song.
this is absolutely stunning and almost enough to make me change my mind on which song of the underworld saga is my favourite just because its SO GOOD
This is SO GOOD!!! The animation is freaking beautiful, and I definitely slammed my hand on my desk WAY too hard when Penelope ripped off Polites' bandana that Odysseus had. Amazing work as always
HI THIS IS AMAZING THE REFLECTIONS HAVE ME IN AWE!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND YOUR USE OF COLOURS… SO GOOD
fav part was when he said “I’m the monster rawr rawr rawr” started bawling it’s too much
anytime i want to listen to the song i just open this video tbh its always on my page dshfjds its so good
Omfg, I died and got revived all thanks to your video, lol. This is incredible work, thank you so much for sharing! The frames are so fluid and smooth, the angles, the colours, the art. Everything is so perfect
Odysseus thinking to himself if the Creatures he have found along the way were trully monsters or just people fighting for what they thought was right, is something so real
(I've heard this song some time ago, and just realised this pretty thing released a month ago)
I mean, in Posiden's case, let's be real, dude only did what he did so the other Gods didn't shit talk him for doing nothing when his son called to be avenged. Instead they'll shit talk him for getting outsmarted by a mortal.
I like to think that in the original, the only reason Poseidon didn't directly kill odysseus was because Athena managed to dampen odysseus' punishment to getting lost at sea. In ruthlessness, we see that Poseidon directly interferes, leading to the loss of the majority of the crew. But in the odyssey(and even in keep your friends close), opening the bag led Odysseus back to the land of the giants(Laestrygonians), who chuck rocks at his ships. Odysseus doesn't make a bet with aeolus. Instead aeolus is just happy to help, but refuses to help a second time because he saw that Odysseus was cursed by the gods if he couldn't keep a simple bag closed.
But you're right Poseidon wouldn't want his fellow gods to undermine him, and he also wouldn't want mortals to stop praying to him.
@@liveadhdtvdo your hands not hurt 😅
IMO, Poseidon could have been perfectly aware who hurt Polyphemus. God of the ocean being able to track down who visited the Cyclop's island after hearing 'Nobody' blinded his son sounds reasonable. Personally, I don't think he would have minded. He has dozens of children at least, and Polyphemus wasn't heroic or impressive.
That said, Odysseus sailed away after declaring his name and deeds instead of fleeing the island in shame and fear. Poseidon had to act, or be mocked by mortals and gods alike.
To be honest I think is more ridiculouse that you are a god but also so pity that you can't let the mortal go home😂
Thats part of the point though Odysseus shouldve killed the cyclops.....instead he was prideful announcing his name and as well as naive believeing he could still be this hero because he showed mercy and instead it led to so much worse for him and his crew
The fact he sees Telemachus as a baby because hasn’t seen him as an adult just make my soul hurt
It hurts even more when you realize that in Gigi’s keep your friends close animatic, Telemachus was an adult, but his eyes were blurred.
YET, HASNT SEEN HIM YET
